Asterisk, inband DTMF send by a GSM mobile
Hi all,
I use a GSM device to send dtmf on my asterisk system (via SIP).
the codec I use is ulaw (or a-law).
dtmf mode is INBAND.
relaxmode is on.
but most of the case, I 'missed' some DTMF or
I 'double' one.
as anybody as seen this before?
is there any way to prevent this
thanks

inband DTMF for g729
Does anybody know why Asterisk does not support inband DTMF for G.729?
Our SIP carrier use inband dtmf for G.729. This causes problem for us to use it for our Asterisk IVR system.
Any suggestion to solve this problem?

Text entry by DTMF
Hi,
I've kind of ported a DTMF text extry method I wrote some time ago for
Dialogic. It is now a semi-working Asterisk app. I've still got to clean
up some stuff in how Festival is used to read back what is entered, and
then I think it should be OK.
Would anyone here find this useful? It takes an entered string, and
returns it as a variable. It might sound clunky, but for short entry

Random DTMF tones generated from speech in conversations
Hi,
My Asterisk systems runs like a dream with mISDN, SIP and even and old
Digium board. But have almost in every conversation some irritating DTMF
being generated. The seems to be just as often from all trunks but are
worse if noise load speaker in other end.
Any good advices?
Where to look for forgotten DTMF detection settings?
Thank you!

DTMF detection problems on PRI channels?
I am using Asterisk 1.2 with a TE410P connected to E1 PRI trunks.
The application relies on a DTMF digit string sent by the phone
after the call has connected. This DTMF is detected by Asterisk
under the control of WAIT FOR DIGIT commands send from an AGI
processor over a FastAGI connection.
Usually the DTMF is detected without error, but on a significant minority
of calls, Asterisk is missing

INBAND DTMF G729 ASTERISK
Hi all.
Why don't Asterisk support inband DTMF with G729? Is there a way to do
that!?
Are you using RFC2833? Doesn't it a security hole?
Thanks.
Denis.

GSM ISDN gateway to quadbri NT port under bristuffed Asterisk - where to set gain (I have unreliable inband dtmf recognition )?
Hi,
I'm getting unreliable dtmf recognition (it works fine for 4-5 digits,
errors (duplicates) on more), when transferred inband from gsm gateway to NT
port of quadbri under bristuffed Asterisk.....
Since Asterisk is claimed to have good dtmf recognizer, I suspect there are
some settings to workarouned... I've tried dtmf relax, but didn't help, so I
suspect gain settings....

PRI dialing IVR with inband DTMF
I have a client who is using a Shoretel PBX. This PBX apparently does not
send DTMF information OOB, but instead sends this inband via the B-channel.
This is traversing an Asterisk box via a PRI. The user calls the IVR
(1-800-CALL-DHL), receives audio, but is not able to present DTMF to engage
the IVR. With some light research it appears that the DSP is not activating
until the call is

Unable to process inband DTMF
Hi All,
Since I updated my * (CVS 2004-03-24), daily, I am getting a strange
message just before a segmentation fault: "Unable to process inband DTMF
on 2 frames".
What could it be? Should it cause seg.faults?

serious dtmf recognition problem.
Hi,
I am using a channel bank and zaptel hardware. I have a credit card machine
on one of the channels that appears to be dialing "too soon" for asterisk,
every complete number recognized by asterisk is missing the first 1-4
numbers. This is a serious problem for me, anyone have any ideas on whats
going on? The pstn picks up on the dtmf tones just fine.
I was able to get it to

oh323 inband dtmf - Possible bug?
I'm trying to use H323 for the first time so please forgive me if I've made
a mistake here. I have downloaded and compiled the latest versions of pwlib,
openh323 and asterisk.
I have dtmfmode=inband in h323.conf, but the remote system is not hearing
the DTMF.
Running a trace reveals the following...

"Inband DTMF is not supported on codec G.711 u-law. Use RFC2833"
Using FireFly, all other codecs but G711 Ulaw is selected. But whenever I
place a call, I get:
Jan 24 16:07:06 WARNING[30654495]: dsp.c:1468 ast_dsp_process: Inband DTMF
is not supported on codec G.711 u-law. Use RFC2833
Umm, wtf? I thought Inband was ONLY supported on G.711 u-law.

Problem with DTFM and complex international setup
We have some guys working in the US who can't always dial back to our
company in Europe easily (lots of clients require authorization to make
international calls), so I set up the following:
- ipkall.com number links to a FWD number
- office Asterisk box registers with FWD
Then I programmed Asterisk to accept office extension number using DTFM
tones.
This works OK.
Then I programmed

DTMF out to Cell Phone
I set up a monitoring system that calls my techs when a problem occurs on
one of our networks, everything works fine unless asterisk calls a cell
phone in which case the tech can not respond using dtmf. It works fine if
the tech call in but not if asterisk call a tech's cell phone. Anyone one
have any suggestions?
Thanks

AW: DTMF detection when outgoing call to mobilephones
Yes I can hear the DTMF keys. I ve tried 2 different phones and 3 different mobile network providers. Nothing.
I played with the rx/txgain values from hearing nothing to too loud...
I have no more ideas.

ISDN: Inband DTMF doesn't trigger transfer feature
Hi there,
I just upgraded a relatively old Asterisk installation (1.2) in our
office to a relatively new version (1.6svn from last wednesday) which
runs a Junghans QuadBRI card [1].
To get this flying I got dahdi-linux, dahdi-tools and libpri from SVN as
well.
After a while of juggling it "works".
What doesn't work: connected ISDN devices (Gigaset phones connected to
QuadBRI
