Backing up my server...

Hello Matt, I've had similar misfortunes too with interdomain trusts. I think you're working along the right lines since you seem to want to do the same thing as I. However the NT_STATUS_UNSUCCESSFUL is an error I always get when trying to connect to the IPC$ share of the PDC of the trusting domain. In my case the trusting PDC is a Windows 2003 Server. I know it's not an issue

Where are my VIM colors?

Regarding fork bomb in a CentOS 4.4 Server!

backing up my system with dump
I'm running CentOS 4.3 on Intel. I don't have any tape device on my system for backup, but I have an entire disk (/dev/sdb) for backup ... my question is: How can I backup ALL my filesystems to some place of my backup hdd (dev/sdb) using dump/restore? I don't want to use tar. Regards Israel

real used RAM!
List, I've installed my CentOS Server running progress 9.1D database system, with only 15 users working every day, this server has 2GB RAM, so, my question is: Why the 2GB of RAM is always used? Even with only one user connected... How can I messuare the real RAM MEM used by my system split in proccess? Is there another tools which I use to compare the results from top. Or vmstat? Regards,

caracter set problem
Hi, I'm from Brazil, and I'm having a problem with special caracters when mounting shares upon Windows XP and 2003. Even using the options codepage=850 and iocharset=utf-8 some caracters like ?, ?, ?, ? are gone. I've tried a lot of combinations of codepages and charsets, but the best result is the sample above. CentOS5 running very slowly on a core 2 duo with 4 GB RAM
Hi, I've installed CentOS5.2 on an INTEL Core 2 Duo (Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU E6550 @ 2.33GHz), 4 GB RAM (MemTotal: 4072176 kB) and my system gets sevarel minutes to startup, specially on udev daemon. Once the system is UP, every command I run gets 100% CPU and every is very slowly at the point yum -y update never ends. The system installed by default this kernel 2.6.18-53.el5PAE.
