Anyone used WatchGuard SIP ALG?
Has anyone here used Asterisk inside a WatchGuard firewall, talking via
the WatchGuard SIP Application Layer Gateway to an outside SIP service?
I have a customer doing just that, and I am 100% convinced there is a bug
in the ALG regarding the media port number it inserts into the SDP when
it rewrites it. However, either they or WatchGuard will not accept there
is a bug, despite my very detailed

Watchguard Firebox 1000 woes
We are trying to setup a sip connection behind a Watchguard Firebox 1000 and
it is simply put...not working. The ports are all forwarded but the packets
are not going out. It is as if the firewall simply ignores SIP packets. Has
anyone seen this or have any idea what the issue could be? Watchguard so far
has been of zero help.

Watchguard Firebox 1000 and Asterisk
Has any had any experiences with Watchguard Firebox 1000 and Asterisk. I
have asterisk on public side and phones on the private side. I am able to
get the phones to register and make outbound calls but the inbound calls are
intermittent. I have NAT enable in asterisk and on the Cisco 7960.
Any insight would be appreciated.
Thanks

Problems with Wait & SIP 486 "DND"
Greetings,
I have implemented the following command to allow CNAM to be delivered to my users.
exten => 9969,1,Wait(1)
This works great!
However it has spawned a new problem. When this is implemented into a full dial plan. If a user is set to DND or sends a call to Voicemail by hitting deny the caller gets a busy. Below is a result of the calls.
With the Wait(1) statement

Problems installing Watchguard Firebox System software in wine (installshield)
Hello,
I am trying to use WINE (20050725-r1 on Gentoo Linux) to install/run
Watchguard's Firebox Management Software (WFS). The WFS installer uses
an installshield installer of course.. I've been looking thru the FAQ,
wiki, etc and have found info about DCOM98 needing to be installed.
I've tried a bunch of things so far, and here's where I stand:
First, I tried getting

I can't call my remote users?
Good day to all--
First off let me say that I have been very pleased with the mailing
list. I have learned a ton of stuff just reading other peoples
questions and comments. I really enjoyed the VOIP Conference call on
Friday morning. Still working on figuring out the best approach to
custom voicemail emails (the reason I joined this group); however, we
have more pressing issues. I

Shorewall as a "commercial" firewall
I am considering replacing my old checkpoint and watchguard firewalls witha
single Linux box using iptables and shorewall. I have two ISP''s (with
separate routing tables), two DMZ''s, at least one VPN to a remote office, and
a local trusted network. The configuration will look like:

Log NAT IP address?
Hi Timo/everyone,
Currently we are logging the remote IP, but is there a way to show the
IP address that the NAT connection is coming from?
The reason I ask is, we are changing ISPs, and I would like to see in
the logs when an external connection is coming from our OLD ISP
connection, and when it is coming through our new one.
We have a Watchguard firewall, and I have both External

Problems with routing to VPN appliance
Our setup: server running shorewal 4.5.2.2 and watchguard vpn appliance.
VPN appliance was supplied by our document flow provider. I want to route
traffic to 192.168.2.0/24 via 10.10.10.1 gateway.
So I thought it would be a good idea to set it up as another ISP in the
providers file. But when I enable it I can reach 192.168.2.0/24 subnet but
not internet.
Can you please tell what I am doing

DHCP Failure screws up system
Maybe someone could point in the right direction.
I have a small facility that's running around 40 Polycom 301/501 phones,
Asterisk 1.4.18 running under Mandriva 2007.1.
The phones were assigned a DHCP address in the 10.10.10.x range. Today,
the DHCP server failed and to get them back online, I loaded the
dhcp-server onto another system (Also running Mandriva) and copied the

Invalid data for index DN=@INDEX:OBJECTCLASS:DNSNODE
We have a Samba primary domain controller "empire", which seems to have
DNS update issues. We can seem to query all records on empire just fine,
and we can modify IPs for existing records, but it will not delete or
add new records. Attempting to delete via the AD tools shows "Local
security authority database contains an internal inconsistency". Adding

tls/srtp: sip_xmit error: returned -2
I'm having trouble setting up tls/srtp secure communications on my
Asterisk server- I'm still rather new at working with Asterisk.
I have enabled tls and encryption and I have csipsimple with tls build
on the phone. I'm currently only testing one phone with this capability
so far, and the rest still work in the current state.
My logging looks like this with verbose turned up:

Asterisk no audio on calls problem.
Hi there,
I am trying to setup a configuration that requires me to use SIP and asterisk behind a firewall and over a VPN to a remote office and with some local Phones also.
I can't use IAX to my provider because they don't offer it and my handsets ( snom 300 ) also don't support IAX so it's all SIP.
The configuration is a follows
