Polycom IP 500 : Displaying digits dialed after connection
Hello All,
I am wondering if there is a way to make Polycom IP 500 SIP phone display
digits dialed after a call is connected. For example, when I call an IVR,
after the connection is complete, the digits dialed to enter account number
etc are not displayed on the phone. They are sent to the target. My users
are asking to see the digits dialed as they are used to seeing them on our
old Nortel

Bug in SUBSCRIBE handling : running out of RTP ports
While trying to deploy a bunch of Polycom IP 500 phones, I ran in to the
following. I limited the RTP ports from 8000-8050 to limit holes in
firewall. Pretty soon Asterisk ran out of RTP ports. Traced the problem
back to how * is handling SUBSCRIBE. A sip structure is allocated as soon
as a request is received, which also allocates RTP ports. Normally, this is
not a problem as the structure

Re: [Asterisk-biz] Livevoip U.S. 800 LNP Starts March 9th 2005
Mike,
No they have not. Calls are failing again today. They have offered to
refund my money but that does not solve the problem. My asterisk server
is only 4 to 12 ms away from their "network". I have had VERY good luck
with nufone.(40 to 45ms away) Only have 1 or 2% fail rate. Going to be
calling txlink.net on Monday.
Seems that LiveVoIP does not care about asterisk users. They like

LNP Problems
What is the deal with "CSR's"?
TWTelecom is telling me that I can't port a number to their service
without a Customer Service Record. Apparently this is easy with
Verizon, and not so easy with some other companies.
Basically I'm at a brick wall with a couple of ports because TWTelecom
is telling me I HAVE to get a CSR and certain other providers (Time

Using ActiveRecord in FXRuby application
Hello,
I am a newbie to FXRuby development.
I like the fact that I can write the code in Ruby for cross-platform
GUI development. I am developing a desktop application that needs to
save some information to a database. I am using ActiveRecord for this
purpose.
My code works fine when I don''t require fox16 and include Fox. But
once I do that I get a bunch of warnings.
Here is the sample

How to know the environment (development/test/production) inside a worker - FIXED
Hi Guys,Looks like I have to do this in backgroundrb.yml
:backgroundrb:
:ip: 0.0.0.0
:production:
:backgroundrb:
:port: 11008 # use port 11008
:environment: production
That is, have an entry for "environment: production" under :production:,
This seems to have fixed the issue.

Fitting linear models
I am not sure if this is an R-users question, but since most of you here
are statisticians, I decided to give it a shot.
I am using the lm() function in R to fit a dependent variable to a set
of 3 to 5 independent variables. For this, I used the following
commands:
>model1<-lm(function=PBW~SO4+NO3+NH4)
Coefficients:
(Intercept) SO4 NO3 NH4

LNP / DID Service - Louisianna / Virginia
I need to convert quite a few numbers in play, as Remote Call Forward Numbers
and this is a sample of NPA/NXX's that we'd like to convert to VOIP right away.
We are using an NEC 2000 IPS switch to do the conversion and feed to our call
centers, and I will want to add DIDs from these same NPA/NXXs later...

Verizon-Vonage Lawsuit
May be slightly off topic, but I was wondering what everyone thinks of this
latest ruling against Vonage? Does anyone really know what Verizon hold
patents for, and could those patents possible affect anything in Asterisk?
Who knows who Verizon will go after next.

OT: List of VoIP providers?
I have been looking around for VoIP providers but have not found a good
listing.
Is there no "yellow pages" for VoIP providers? Google mostly returns
services
like Vonage, Packet8, NuFone, ect. None seam to be very reseller
friendly and
none offer LNP or local DID's for my area. Anyone know of a list (even a
partial one)

Controlling widths in write.fwf()
Is there a way to handle the widths of values being written to a file
using wrtite.fwf() ?
For example, I used read.fwf(file, width.vector) to read a file. After
making the necessary data manipulation, I want to write the data to a
new file in the same width.vector format. Is there a way to specify
this?
Thanks in Advance

Exporting objects plotted with plot3d() - rgl package
Dear all,
Can anybody tell me how to export a 3d figure made with the plot3d
function? I'm careless about whether it's still interactive or not in
another format, as long I can get it out of R.
Thanks!

Hi Folks,
Is there a way to find out the mobile/landline carrier name based on the
phone number?
For example, who is the mobile carrier for (415)2345678
I had heard about some query but just don't remember how/what?
Thanks in advance.

Where did my DID's go??
Okay, first a little background - I've been with Packet8 since a month
after they started. I found that we were outgrowing their services
and decided to move to an asterisk box in the office. I found a
service provider that offered me a reasonable rate. After a fair
ammount of testing I decided to stick with their services and port my
3 primary DID's from Packet8 to the new service.
