How can I use my regular phones with Asterisk running on my Linksys WRT54G router?
Ok, I've done some more research and I don't think I want an FXO box... What I'd like to do is use BroadVoice (with their BYOD plan) and then run Asterisk on my WRT54G router. I'd also like to use my regular home phones without having to use a special "SIP" phone... (eg. I like my Vtech normal cordless phones) What do I need to buy to get this working? It sounds like I

Help! - Double NAT issue
Hi folks. Please don't flame me but I've been googling around for days, read a tremendous amount, tried everything, and still no go. This is most definitely a typical newbie question. - I sure hope there's somebody(s) out there who'll humble themselves to help me out. I've set up an 'out of the box' basic Asterisk server running on Slackware Linux. - It basically

Testers needed for VoIP router solution
Hi all, We have put together a firmware for a range of inexpensive routers. It has been configured to provide optimum VoIP performance. We have internally tested it for number of months and it looks very good. You should be able to run it easily with 20+ phones on local network ( we still did not hit the upper limit ) assuming that you have bandwidth. Your VoIP will get prioritized over other

How do I configure shorewall to work with VoIP SIP?
Hello, Let me first start by saying Shorewall is awesome, and I use it everywhere from single box firewall, to home network firewall, even to our corporate firewall. I am experiencing a problem getting my home firewall to work with my BroadVoice VoIP connection. I use the Sipura SPA-2100 ATA (Analog Telephone Adapter) that came with my BroadVoice account. This happened when I tried to replace

Incoming SIP gateway context?
I just started service with Broadvoice.com and everything seems to work. However, apparently my understanding of incoming sip contexts is less then what I thought it was. Could someone point me in the right direction? (* on a public address, CVS-HEAD-07/12/04, C7960 phones) In my sip.conf I have: [general] port = 5060 bindaddr = 0.0.0.0 allow=ulaw tos=0x18 ;sets ip tos bits (=lowdelay and

Broadvoice + incoming call works only for ~2 minutes
Hi, all. The asterisk setup is working fine, receiving calls via broadvoice "initially". ? When call comes in via broadvoice number, asterisk picks it up and routes correctly, as long as the call came in within ~2 min from the previous one. In other words, as long as a call comes in within ~2 min since the previous one, asterisk will answer the call. However, if the call comes in

Problem with incoming calls on Broadvoice after upgrade to 1.4.18
Hi all, I just upgraded to Asterisk 1.4.18 a few days ago and I don't use Broadvoice TOO often, however I have a Vermont number with them and so my mother in law calls it to talk to my wife once in a while, so that's why it took me so long to notice it wasn't working. Anyway, when she calls she gets a busy signal (as I've tested when calling it from my cell). When I enable

Asterisk --> BV: Incoming does not work....
Asterisk seems to register just fine with BroadVoice (asterisk -r, and then sip show registry shows sip.broadvoice.com is "Registered") ...but when I try to call my broadvoice number (from a cell phone), it rings one single time and then says "The party you are trying to reach is not available to take your call." This doesn't seem to be an Asterisk message but seems to be

SIP Incoming / Inbound not working for Broadvoice (Asterisk PBX 1.6.1.6)
Hello, Please forgive me if I'm repeating this post. I have searched and looked for similar problem with a solution but have not see a similar one. My outgoing SIP and other channels work fine but the incoming/inbound SIP call goes straight to Broadvoice voicemail. I see that Broadvoice is registered when I look at the SIP registry. I have turned on SIP Debug and it is below. Anyone know

CID Matches On Incoming BroadVoice???
I have been trying to make Broadvoice match incoming Caller ID and do specific things based on the number received, but due to Broadvoice requiring the "s" to start off an incoming extension, I cannot get this to work. Has anyone been able to do this? Here are some examples of my setup: from sip.conf: context=broadvoice-incoming from extensions.conf [broadvoice-incoming] exten =>

Looking for wisdom - One Asterisk system - Multi-incoming trunks
I'm pretty new to this whole Asterisk system & VoIP thing, but being a programmer by trade the complexity didn't scare me off (at least not yet)... I have setup an Asterisk system for my home & home office. My wife & I run two separate businesses from home, and we have a general family home phone line as well. The cost of all these lines with analog carriers was getting

Asterisk and Broadvoice, no incoming voice
I just signed up for the BroadVoice service a few hours ago, but for the life of me I can't get any incoming voice. The incoming connection is fine as it rings my extension from outside, but I can't hear anyone talking. Outgoing voice is working fine though. I've been looking through the archives, but I haven't found a solution to the problem yet. I even tried another router
