Announcing - AstJax click2call Firefox greasemonkey script - click and dial phone numbers in any webpage
Hi there,
Just to announce that I've improved upon a greasemonkey script which allows
users to dial any number (in the given regex format) by turning it into a
clickable hyperlink.
The script uses greasemonkey's ajax callback to a simple php controller
script, so that the click does not navigate away from the current page.
It requires an Asterisk Manager connection.

CRMy type app?
Looking for a (windows) app. that will listen to the manager interface
then pop-up a web browser pointing to a page on an incoming phone call..
Not looking for outlook integration, or outbound dialling, just to
recognise an incoming call and poke a URL at a website in a browser and
I've absolutely no idea how to do it in the MS windows world...
Any clues appreciated.. (More pointing to an

Samba support for ADM files
Hi
What I would like to do is have my custom adm files in a shared folder on my
samba server so that if I make a change, it updates the windows XP clients on
my network in a similar fashion to active directory on a windows server.
However, I cannot seem to find any support for this in samba in the
documentation I have read. Do I have to go to each machine and use group
policy editor to load

I'd be surprised if it did, but now that you mention it, I think that we
should probably mention more often that

Hi,
I am attempting to implement Answering Machine Detect and have also played
with using BackgroundDetect instead. Does anyone recommend one over the
other? Here is the code I am using for the BackgroundDetect method (from

Thanks.

tuned-adm fixed Windows VM disk write performance on CentOS 6
On a 32bit Windows 2008 Server guest VM on a CentOS 5 host, iometer
reported a disk write speed of 37MB/s
The same VM on a CentOS 6 host reported 0.3MB/s. i.e. The VM was unusable.
Write performance in a CentOS 6 VM was also much worse, but it was usable.
(See http://lists.centos.org/pipermail/centos-virt/2012-August/002961.html)
With iometer still running in the guest, I installed tuned on

I don't know whether it's wise to release the FTP-location
I would recommend everyone to just look over their daemons, and run
something like nessus against theirselves...

NT poledit.* & common.adm & winnt.adm & windows.adm
I've googled my brains out trying to find the "latest" NT 4.0 System
Policy Editor files:
POLEDIT.CNT
POLEDIT.EXE
POLEDIT.HLP
COMMON.ADM (NT & W9x)
WINNT.ADM (NT)
WINDOWS.ADM (W9x)
I only have dialup access, and it will take me a zillion days to
download SP6 for NT so I can extract the above files.
Can any one point me to where I can D/L those six (or 0110) files?
Thanks

wxruby 0.3.0
I''m having trouble getting this sucker to build on my Solaris box.
Here''s how I''m building:
ruby extconf.rb --with-xrc-dir=/opt/csw
--with-xrc-include=/opt/csw/lib/wx
The include directive I added because the setup.h file is there (for
whatever reason). And yes, /opt/csw/bin and

Couldn't open status file /var/adm/slh/samba/locks/STATUS..LC K
Gunnar,
Check (ll -d dirname) to make sure that there is at least x permission for
everyone in each directory down the /var/adm/slh/samba/locks path;
also, does the STATUS..LCK file exist in the named directory, and if so what
are the permissions on it?
Hope this helps,
Don

How to downgrade gtk2 libs in CentOS 6.8?
Hi all. I'm using a CentOS 6.8 VM to do volunteer builds for an open
source project. I want to build Pale Moon with a gtk2 library older
than 2.24, to allow people with older linuxes to run it. Short summary,
if built against version gtk2-2.24 and/or higher, the binary will use a
function that does not exist in gtk2-2.23 and lower. Net result is that
the program dies with an
