Termination Provider
I've been looking for a good iax or sip <==> ptsn provider. Someone with very low cost usa calling and can offer incoming ptsn connections in most markets. The only decent providers I could find were iconnecthere and nufone. Has anyone found someone that really stood out? OT: How to "own" a telephone number?
Hello! We are open to the possibility of changing our business telephone number shortly. This will most likely be necessary due to a physical move, changing providers and a few other reasons. However, we woud like this to be the *last* time we need to do this. Ever. No matter what. Is that possible? On the Internet, you get this power with domain names. We "own" our domain

VoicePulse SIP
Dear Sirs, Anybody ever tried running SIP up against Voicepulse? On their http://connect.voicepulse.com they claim they support both SIP and IAX, but I can't seem to get SIP running. I have as mentioned before on this list - huge problems getting any timing devices running on some of my machines, so IAX is not really an option right now. If I try I get a "Service Unavailable"

hang up when going to voicemail
I have a little menu set up where hitting 1, 2, or 3 places the call through to a cellular phone over IAX. That works. However, if caller hits 4 to go into voicemail, the system hangs up. Am I doing something wrong in the dial plan, or is this a CVS change? I had no trouble with this until I upgraded to about 07/21 CVS, and I'm on 07/23 [latest] now with same results. My dial plan:

Re: [Asterisk-biz] Livevoip U.S. 800 LNP Starts March 9th 2005
Mike, No they have not. Calls are failing again today. They have offered to refund my money but that does not solve the problem. My asterisk server is only 4 to 12 ms away from their "network". I have had VERY good luck with nufone.(40 to 45ms away) Only have 1 or 2% fail rate. Going to be calling txlink.net on Monday. Seems that LiveVoIP does not care about asterisk users. They like

IAX2 800 Termination
I am looking for a good provider for IAX2/800 termination. I am currently using FreeWorldTel and wanted to use NuFone but it seems that both of them don't provide customer service. FreeWorld has terrible voice quality and NuFone never answers their phone or responds to messages. Thanks, Linn

free dids on goiax.com
GoIAX, the Asterisk community's free IAX provider, is offering free US dids now. I loaded about 175 dids in and put up a very beta sign in page. Unfortunately I had to restrict the free us/canada outbound calling back down to toll-free only. There was a lot of war dialing and prank calling going on. I'm working on some stuff to hopefully curb that kind of stuff down so I can

Winbind problem with more details.
Everyone, One of our developers was kind enough to insert some bug checking into the mod_auth_pam and mod_auth_sys_group so that we could see a little more of what was going on with our authentication failures. Here is what we just saw. Two of our users NA\connelmp and NA\guminssa both started getting messages that they were not part of the required group. Here is the log for

goiax expanded with free us domestic calling
I launched www.goiax.com last week, which is intended to promote the use of IAX as a free and open source alternative to products like skype. There is no charge for the service. Right now I have free outbound to united states toll-free and us domestic numbers working. Currently the site hands out a virtual 87820-xxxxxxx number but I intend to add the ability to get a free United States DID

I've got my res_mysql.conf stating: [general] dbhost = 127.0.0.1 dbname = switchref dbuser = asteriskuser dbpass = xxxxxxx dbport = 3306 and my extconfig.conf stating: sipusers => mysql,switchref,sip_buddies sippeers => mysql,switchref,sip_buddies When Asterisk starts, and I show peers and show users, I don't see anything that is in the database. DID + 800 Providers
Hello, I'm looking for US DID and US50/CA 800# Providers. I found voiceconduits.com 8 month ago, there interface looks good, but there are still not live, I believe they won't be any time soon. I found sixtel, but order take eternities, they probably won't get my orders right any soon. So i'm looking for a good provider for DIDs and 800# from the US and CA, who offer online

new ATA box for sale by Linksys
Fry's Electronics has a new Linksys 2 line ATA box for sale for $59.99 retail. They have a version with a router for $89.99. We picked the non-router version up and it seems to be a rebadged Sipura SPA-2000. The box has a Vonage service package inside as well, but it does work with other services. The box also has a "User Guide" meant for end-users that is very well written [no

toll-free anonymous
Hi, I'm Andrew. (Hi Andrew) I'm a toll-free number junkie. I've had an account with iax.cc/sixtel for about a week, and every few days, I find myself sitting at the DID menu clicking the link that reads "Click here to get a random toll free number". I have three toll-free numbers now, and I don't know if it will stop... Is there any hope for me? -- Andrew

Who is going to AstriCon (The Asterisk Conference)?
Hi, I'm taking a straw-poll to see who out there is planning on going to AstriCon. I would like to hear from both new members of the community and gurus. What kinds of things would you like to see at an Asterisk Conference? What topics are good BOF (Birds Of a Feather - informal discussion group) fodder? What parts of Asterisk require the most attention? FYI - AstriCon is October 12 - 14

motherboard for T100P
anyone have a recommendation for a place I can buy cheap motherboards that supports those 64-bit 3.3 volt PCI slots for the T100P ? I can't find them at Fry's or anywhere locally. All I can find online is dual processor server boards that are overkill for this application. I would like to use a P3/ P4/ AMD single processor. No Xeons or dual processor junk. Anyone know why digium

mount.cifs -> Unisys MCP Mainframe -- Linux touch command "setting times of `testfile.txt': Permission denied"
I've got a share from a Unisys MCP Mainframe mounted with mount.cifs from RHEL 6.1 (samba-common-3.5.6-86.el6.x86_64). when I try to touch a file, it creates the file, but reports an error - "setting times of `testfile.txt': Permission denied" strace on the touch command shows that it is erroring out on the utimensat() call utimensat(0, NULL, NULL, 0) = -1 EACCES (Permission
