Patton SmartNode
Does anybody have any experience using a Patton SmartNode as a SIP/Telco
gateway with Asterisk? They seem really inexpensive and appear to
support all of the necessary features, but I don't have any experience
with their products, so I don't know if they are any good. We are
currently using a Cisco 2600 w/ PRI card and it works fine, but I was

Ringinbacktone even without 'r', and inexistant codec
I am trying to make an Inalp Smartnode 1200 (SIP-to-ISDN gateway) work with Asterisk. It works ... Partially.
We are using the Inalp to connect ISDN phones, it basically acts like an ISDN ATA.
First of all, when I make a SIP call to the unit with a simple Dial() command (no "r", so Asterisk shouldn't generate its ringback tone) I hear Asterisk's ringback tone anyway (I'm

Gateway doesn't ring
Hello all,
i have a problem on incoming call's from SIP Provider that ist going through
the Asterisk to a Grandstream HT502. The first ring is executed on the HT502
propperly, but no more ring will follow. But the call can nevertheless be
answered by a phone on the gateway.
If i call the same Gateway through a connected second Asterisk the ringing is
done well.
If a call is coming

sip reload - Hang
I just setup an Asterisk system on a small Shuttle box; I am only using
SIP channels and have no FXO/FXS cards. The system works fine in that I
can call my inbound number (Broadvoice) and have the system answer and
I can make outgoing calls. The problem is that every time I want to
change something in the sip.conf file, I have to do a 'restart now'
instead of a 'reload' or

Dear all
I am a PhD student of Computer Scince at Simon Fraser University (

theoretical computer science, but since Sep. 2008 I have started working on
Software projects again. Currently I am working in COSTAR lab (

Hi Ehsan,
All of the projects you have listed are quite interesting. If I were
to advocate for one, it would be #2. I think the scope of work is
perfect for GSoc.
I'd encourage send out a more concrete proposal when you're ready.
Thanks,
Evan

Hi Evan
Thanks for the email. I had a look at gcc implementation of TBAA and I think
three main steps in implementation of TBAA for LLVM will be this:
April 20 ~ May 23: I will read gcc implementation in depth and play around
with LLVM code.
May 23 ~ July 6: Implementation and test of a simple version of TBAA that
does not work with all aggregate types. I think part of the coding required

Configuring Patton SmartNode with ISDN2e and Asterisk
Hello
Does anyone have any experience with configuring BT (British Telecom)
ISDN2e lines to work with Patton SmartNodes - and then Asterisk?
I have a Patton SmartNode 4638, which is now connected to 3 x ISDN2e
lines - and in turn connected to our internal LAN. I'm having huge
issues configuring the SmartNode to successfully "see" the ISDN channels
- and to be honest, I'm

I have two X100P card in my box. I want to connect regular phone (not the

I don't really want an expensive solution buying additional card with FXS
port, I prefer to make something by myself. It'll be great if somebody can
point me to technical materials or show electric scheme of such converter. I
believe it should

B410P and Patton smartnode : any success ?
Hi,
1. Has someone met any success at all, connecting a Digium B410P to a Patton
Smartnode 4638 (with latest 5.3 firmware) ?
2. If positive, then, which signalling was used on both sides ?
My project's goal is use a Patton Smartnode 4638 to act as telco BRI lines,
from a B410P-enabled asterisk box.
In my testings, I can see channel is respectively up (with patton web server
status page)

Just a few notes from the peanut gallery... note that I can't really say
what is and is not possible with LLVM, I can just talk about our plans
(which we believe to be possible). If you guys are really interested in
this stuff, try hacking something together and see if it works! :)

Patton SmartNode Help
I have been given a Patton SmartNode 4114 and asked to get it working as
POPS gateway for our asterisk box. The 4114 has 4 FXO ports. It's got
firmware 3.21 on it. I currently have a single POPS line plugged into
port 0.
I can not seem to get the two to talk together. I am running asterisk
1.2.21.1. I am seeing the following repeatedly in *

even though I had all of the following enabled on the patton ...

Patton smartnode 463x (BRI) 25ms tail echo cancellation
Hi all
We use pci/pci-e BRI cards in our installations. Due to echo problems
(that was before Oslec and others), we quickly switched to cards with
hardware-based EC.
So we use exclusively Digium B410p cards that provide 64ms tail EC.
For several reasons we'd like to switch to external BRI gateways like
the Patton smartnodes (the price is getting really close to a B410p).

Asterisk and Patton
Hi,
we have and Asterisk server connected to a Patton Smartnode 4638 with
4 BRI.
We configured 4 SIP account on Patton (1001, 1002, 1003, 1004).
The system is fully functional, but we have a problem to recognize
incoming calls from Asterisk: when a call come from SIP/1001 (BRI 1 on
Patton) or SIP/1002 (BRI 2) or SIP/1003 (BRI 3) Asterisk record a call
coming from SIP/1004.
I have contacted Patton
