Howto Setup TFTP server on Linux for Cisco 7 960
Thanks But how about the config files (SIP...) that needs to be inside the tftp server, where can I get a sample of that? That's where the images for the firmwares of the ip phones come from, on boot right? -----Original Message----- From: asterisk-users-bounces@lists.digium.com [mailto:asterisk-users-bounces@lists.digium.com] On Behalf Of Alen Salamun Sent: Wednesday, January 26, 2005 5:47

Greetings, We are looking at installing a VoIP system with Asterisk and are currently looking at the line of 3Com phones. Has anybody had success with using the following phones? MultiLine Sip Phones
Sorry Newbie asking everyones option. I am setting up a couple of small asterisk phone systems for my work, I started using some snom 190 and bt102 sip phones (the bt102 works really well with iLBC), but the complaint from my workmates is there is no way to see if other people are on there phone or not, or what lines are being used. The snom 190 only has 5 function keys, the snom 220 seems a bit

ISDN phones & Asterisk, ASDI and then some
Hello all, New to the list, Asterisk and this wonderful world of convergence. From reading the docs, list and websites I hopefully correctly understand that I can use a plain cheap isdn4linux supported ISDN (passive) TA to hook up the PC to the ISDN line from the telco (FXO card?). Next in the PC I also need a FXS card like a Digium TDM10B or PhoneJack so I can hook up an analog phone to it. In

Receptionist Phones (was 3Com Phones)
Thanks for all the comments on the 3Com phones. Thankfully, there is a large number of phones out there to dig through looking for the right solution. What I have not been able to find, after spending all weekend looking, is a good solution for an attendant console. We have 2 receptionists that need to be able to view all 60+ phones (we could probably weed it down a bit if we had to,

Snom or Cisco Phones?
Hello I need to buy IP Phones to work with Asterisk, and I'm in doubt between Snom and Cisco Phones. Can you gurus, please, give me your impression of these 2 brands? I need to focus more in SIP and Asterisk compatibility and less in pricing (yes, I know the Cisco are more expensive). Are there any features that Snom has, that Cisco doesnt? And are these features important? Thanks Joao

Please share the experience on VoIP phones heavyusing.
Hi, cisco's phones are VoIP only polycom build (video-) conferencing devices. One Cisco model (7930 I thnk) is a polycom in disguise. The code is not 'cisco-like' (at least the version I had. Both brands make very good quality equipments. Good sound, good support, ... Regards, Shaoul Jacobson VoIP Consultant Tellink Tel : +32 3 201 96 36 Fax : +32 3 227 09 81 e-mail

Polycom vs. Cisco IP Phones
Hi all, I am working on building a new VoIP PBX. Looking at the current market for phones it seems my best "enterprise" options are the Cisco and Polycom phones. I have some experiance with the Cisco 7940G, but the process of flashing the phone with the SIP firmware left a bad taste in my mouth (not to mention the added expense for the phone). What is the general consensis about

Digium IP Phones UNREACHABLE after registration
I'm trying to solve a mystery for the last couple of days. I have a mix of D70, D50 and D40 behind NAT. Server is in a colocation, not a VPS. For several years, everything was working fine, no issues. A few days ago I started having problems at one particular site. NO CHANGES have been made to this office network - same router, switch and internet provider. No new equipment added or

3Com 3102 Phones
Has any advancement been made to get 3102 operational in either a SIP or H323 asterisk environment. A post back in time mentioned a downloader service. >From the posts and articles I have read, the NCP is acting like a bootp and tftp server which uploads the configuration to the phone?? Am I close? if so, where does one get the SIP image for he 3102 and 2102 phones? I had 8 donated, but they

Cisco 79xx series IP phones
Shawn, That's a complete load of manure. I have an office full of 7960's, they work great with asterisk with the SIP images loaded. I'm about to pick up a lot of 7912's (simple one line phones, same as the 7905 but it has a built in switch). These phones have also been confirmed to work with Asterisk. I would recommend not going directly to cisco, and just find a reseller who

multiline IP hardphone w/ FDX speakerphone?
Could someone please recommend a reasonably priced IP phone that works well with *, has a decent (full duplex, echo canceling) speakerphone, has at least two line appearances, and can transfer / conference reliably? The Wiki lists 35 brands of hardphone, but: 1. Most seem to be toys. 2. For many, there is no info on e.g. speakerphone characteristics. 3. When one seems technically promising, e.g.
