Ser + Asterisk & DMZ
Hi all
I am in this strange situation: we had ser configured to relay calls to
numbers to asterisk extensions and all used to work nicely, with both ser and
asterisk running on the same machine with public ip (ser on port 5060 and *
on 5061). We had to move temporarily our server to another provider which put
our server on a dmz, so that now we have our server with private ip but
reachable from

Re: [Serusers] NAT considerations...
You will also need your SIP clients that are behind the same NAT to
support ICE (Interactive Connectivty Establishment) if you want calls
between them. Xten Eyebeam and Snom phones are the only ones I'm
aware of that support it.

Dear All,
I am looking an R version of the "Computer program for sample size and

How to change Domain password as normal user?
Still having daily problems. Yesterday, again, I reset the user password from the AD/DC as the
domain administrator: samba-tool user setpassword mark
Today, I was unable to log in. The only message in the log.samba file is:

wrong from URI in options message
I recently configured a SIP peer which i must specify my fromuser as my
ten digit "DID". I send calls to this peer, but whenever Asterisk sends
an options message, the fromuser is "asterisk".
Is this a bug? Or is there some other config I must make ?

Patton SmartNode Help
I have been given a Patton SmartNode 4114 and asked to get it working as
POPS gateway for our asterisk box. The 4114 has 4 FXO ports. It's got
firmware 3.21 on it. I currently have a single POPS line plugged into
port 0.
I can not seem to get the two to talk together. I am running asterisk

connect a LAN server to a WAN server as a sip client
hello
I have a asterisk server on WAN, and one server on LAN. And now there are
some users on the LAN server. Users on the LAN server need to make phone
calls to PSTN through the WAN server.
Now on WAN server, there is a user account for the LAN server to register,
and it's an account with multiple ports.(So more than one users on the LAN
server can make phone calls through the WAN server at

Broadvoice's changes last week broke call forwarding
Like everyone else who used asterisk with broadvoice, my outgoing calls
died last week. I made the appropriate changes, and now basic incoming
and outgoing calls are working. However, I have a few call-forwarding
rules that are no longer working. It's certainly no coincidence. I can
dial to all these number directly, but the problem only appears when
there is an incoming broadvoice call, and I

Sorry for refering so late to a (securityfocus) post, but the Subject
has been nagging me for the last month ;-) Problem was how to keep your
DISPLAY, xauth and security (no 'ssh root at host' over the net) when

DID -> SER -> Asterisk call transfer
Hi everybody,
I am almost there on that one :-) Transfering a DID from SER to
Asterisk 1.2.6, but I get 403 forbidden. I tried this example
but without success and I also looked at last year's posts..
http://www.cs.colostate.edu/~somlo/CSU-SIP-notes/#3.3
SER is the public access and is on a separate box.
The URI is sip:551130256898@sip.provider.com and
the Asterisk is correctly

Conditional statement style
This is a bit of a nuby question methinks but i''ve had a play/search
around and it''s just bugging me now :0)
Say I have a conditional statement, testing a variable against a number
of values. The first way i did this is like so:
if myvar != "" and myvar != 0 and myvar != nil
# .. code
end
This seems a bit messy - is there neater way of doing this? I thought of:

multiple sip accounts from same sip registrar
Dear all,
I have an asterisk sip issue which I don't believe is unique.
I use a registrar (sipgate.co.uk) where I have 3 different accounts.
These accounts provide me with three seperate local phone numbers which allow me to allocate them to seperate users.
By using just one of these accounts I can set asterisk up to send and receive calls no problem.
However, when I start to introduce an
