I have a brand new IAXy I'm playing with. I do not get a dialtone on the phone, or any response at ll on the phone. No sound, no dialing, no ringing. The phone and wire are tested and known to be good. I think I have it setup correctly. Hi, I recently acquired an iaxy device. Since I turned it on, the phone makes a strange noise. Is this normal? I'm not sure if there is some configuration that needs to be provisioned for it to quieten down. Hi, What noise should I expect to hear once I've plugged an IAXY into my network and connected to Asterisk? I suspect I should hear a dialtone? Yesterday I was using one of the cheap Radio Shack phone polarity on various phone outlets in my house and ended up plugging it into my IAXY. While the regular phone jacks tested OK, the IAXY tested as being reverse polarity. The tester was plugged directly into the IAXY so there is no chance of this being caused by crossed wires.
