Becoming a VOIP provider
This is a bit off topic, but I'm not sure where else to start.
I've got a friend in Australia who works for a big ISP there. I guess they want to provide VOIP service to their customers.
Can anyone give us an idea how someone can, I guess, purchase phone lines to sell as VOIP lines? I'm a bit lost here, but basically what is
needed to become a VOIP provider?
Would you buy a bunch

Flat Rate Long Distance Providers
We are looking for a flatrate long distance provider to integrte with a
hosted Asterisk implementation. I would like to have a SIP/IAX handoff to
whatever carrier. We want the ability to turn LD to any of our subscribers
for a flat rate as well. This request is for USA only. Int'l would be a
per minute basis.
Any sugggestions are greatly appreciated.
Thanks,

SNOM 190 Configuration with Asterisk
Anyone have a suggestion for a configuration example using Asterisk and SNOM
190 SIP phone?
I have read both sets of documentation and for the life of me, I can't get
the phone to register and work. I can use a IAX softphone and it works
perfectly. It is just the SIP thing I guess. Anyone have conf examples
they can share?
Thanks

What are the various models of DID providers
Hi,
Inspired by a recent rant about one particular provider, I am getting
very curious about something I've never mastered. I'd like someone to
explain this here or at least post a link or two that can educate me
and probably countless others who have no knowledge in this area. I'm
sure there are several of you reading this that know all about the
subject.
What are the various

No ringback over IAX - LiveVoip
Hello All,
I saw some coverage of this in the list archive but no one seems to have
posted a resolution.
I am using Asterisk@Home 0.06 and when I get a call from LiveVoip over
IAX I dump it into my IVR.
>From there the call is routed to groups based upon input.
However, there is no ringback indicated to the IAX caller.
Does anyone know how to resolve this problem?
Thanks,

Level(3) SIP termination services
John,
I spoke with Level(3) last week regarding SIP termination. They
quoted $0.01/minute, with an 11 Million Minute / Month minimum.
Ugh!

VoicePulse offering IAX2 services
I don't know if this has been mentioned yet:
Voicepulse is now offering wholesale pricing and
IAX2 connectivity for Asterisk users. No fees, pay
as you go. They also
offer incoming calls for $7.99 per month. See
wholesale.voicepulse.com.

Rate file formats: a standard?
[crossposted to isp-clec and asterisk-users]
As part of several larger projects, the question of rate importation
from termination carriers has come up. If a firm has four different
LD partners, as an example, then it is obvious that the firm needs to
determine at the origination of a call where that call would be best
sent on a cost basis. I'll ignore things like quality of service and

Who knows where voicepulse has their asterisk servers?
I want to collocate an * box somewhere, where better than where voicepulse
chose to put their servers?
They probably did their homework and selected someplace where good handoff
to the pstn can be found, right/

asterisk-providers mailing list?
It seems like it might be nice to have a mailing list to talk about (and
to) voip providers for Asterisk users.
It would be a good place to share info about config, pricing news,
customer service, local numbers, transient outages, etc. Providers would
be encouraged to contribute sales info. Users would be able to help each
other out with technical and non-technical issues.
Seems good for

Filling in a Zero Matrix
Hi
I am very new to R and statistical programming in general. I am trying to reorder data from a .csv file. I have managed to import the data and create a zero matrix. I am now trying to fill the matrix. There seems to be some problem with this section of my code. I have highlighted the dodgy code in red. Please help if possible.

MCI vs. XO/Allegiance
Hello All,
Anyone out there using ISDN PRI from either MCI or XO/Allegiance?
Gotta make the choice today and the difference per month is only about
$25 in favor of MCI.
Billing is pretty much the same between the two so I have pretty much no
point of reference on which to choose.
Any thoughts from anyone experienced with these two compnies would be
greatly appreciated!
Thanks,

lmer model building--include random effects?
Hello,
This is a follow up question to my previous one http://tolstoy.newcastle.edu.au/R/e4/help/08/02/3600.html
I am attempting to model relationship satisfaction (MAT) scores
(measurements at 5 time points), using participant (spouseID) and
couple id (ID) as grouping variables, and time (years) and conflict
(MCI.c) as predictors. I have been instructed to include random
effects for the

Row to Column help
Dear R Community,
I am attempting to transpose a dataset from rows to columns but am stuck. I
have tried using reshape() with little luck, possibly due to the categorical
nature of the data. For example:
id<-c(1,2,2,3,3,3)
author<-c("j","k","k","l","l","l")

Re: [Asterisk-biz] Livevoip U.S. 800 LNP Starts March 9th 2005
Mike,
No they have not. Calls are failing again today. They have offered to
refund my money but that does not solve the problem. My asterisk server
is only 4 to 12 ms away from their "network". I have had VERY good luck
with nufone.(40 to 45ms away) Only have 1 or 2% fail rate. Going to be
calling txlink.net on Monday.
Seems that LiveVoIP does not care about asterisk users. They like

R-help
I have been trying to write a function for the following problem:
Suppose I have three vectors a,b,c of different lengths:
e.g. a=c(a1,a2,a3,...) where a[i] form the basis of our function variables:
if we define a table for example:
and define the fn(x) <-function{..sum(argument)..}
where x<-c(a,b,c) so that we can maximise fn(x) as:
