DIDs anywhere but here?
Are there affordable DIDs (preferably IAX) available anywhere outside the US? I want to use it to meet ICANN requirements for providing a valid phone number, yet pre-empting some of the telemarketing calls my domain registrations generate. (Yes, I asked a similar question about 900# availability before). I'd prefer to have a number somewhere outside the NANP, preferably an asian country.

Problems transferring calls - Part 2!
Ok. I've done more research and testing and here are the details. It is using the dialparties.agi (http://www.sprackett.com/asterisk/) file to dial . Originally with the dial options "tr". I changed the options to "Tt" but no change. Transferring internal extensions between each other works fine. Example: 201 calls 202. 201 transfers 202 to 203. Transferring the IAX

G.729? Worth it?
Hi All, For a small installation using ITSPs via DSL is G.729 a worthwhile exercise? I have G.729 capable SIP phones and my ITSPs cupport the codec so I could go end-to-end without transcoding. What's call quality like compared to G.711, GSM or iLBC? Michael -- Michael Graves mgraves@pixelpower.com Sr. Product Specialist www.pixelpower.com

Find_all_by and find(:all) to only select certain values for a selection box
So....let''s have a look if I understood the issue: -Find_all_by is actually the same like Find(:all), however Find_all_by is much shorter and less complicated than the syntax of Find(:all) -So in my CONTROLLER it says @files = find(:all) however I don''t want to see all files displayed in my selection box, because I only want to see the foles whose mandant_id is the same like

7940 & AS5300 codec issues/questions G.729 & G.711
I've previously been using G711alaw on both the AS5300 and the phones but feel the need for a less bandwidth hungry codec for those users that are connected behind ADSL and so was investigating G.729 but .. Firstly I found that on my AS5300 I have either G.729r8 or G.729br8 and on the 7940 phones I have G.729a, I'm not sure which interoperate the best with each other and so was wondering

Open G.729 / G.723.1 update, fixed memory leak
A new release of the open source G.729 patch has been issued. The new URL is: http://www.readytechnology.co.uk/open/ipp-codecs The memory leak in codec_g729 is now fixed. This was due to a problem in a section of code copied from the Intel example. Thanks to those who assisted in locating this bug. If you are still running the old version of the codec, your Asterisk process will run out

Transcoding g.711 -> g.729
Hello, I have an asterisk server running with 23 g.729 licenses. I have also purchased a sound file from thevoice.digium.com. I need to covert this file (uLaw, PCM I think) to g.711, g.729 & g.723 for use with an IVR system. Is there a way I can convert the files using the g.729 digium codec? sox? Thanks -Matt -- Matthew S. Sounds format: GSM to G.729
Dear all, I have an Asterisk SIP PBX using GSM codec at peers and in voicemail sounds files (I have Spanish sounds). But now I have a problem because I have to use G.729 mandatory at peers, and I have GSM in voicemail sound files. I can't let Asterisk do trascoding because I have no a DSP in the CPU, and I don't want to degrade the PBX performance with trascoding tasks. So how can I

Copy protection issues with G.729 codec in Solaris
Hello, I have trouble activating the G.729 codec in Solaris. It seems the module doesn't try to read the license file at all. Although the module loads (it's listed in show modules), "show g729" gives "No such command" error and this is posted in the messages log: Oct 27 18:09:40 NOTICE[19336] codec_g729.c: G.729 transcoding module version 32, Copyright (C) 1999-2007

Digium G.729 codec modules updated
This evening I posted a new set of Digium G.729 codec modules to our FTP server and web site, for Linux x86 and x86-64 processors. They were built using GCC 4.0.1, and they now report the processor they were optimized for when they are loaded. The previous x86-64 module required a non-standard Asterisk binary configuration, so this was corrected. In addition, there was only a generic version

Digium G.729 codec now available for Solaris/SPARC
I have just uploaded Solaris/SPARC G.729 codecs and register tools to our FTP site; they are located with the other non-Linux codecs in the 'unsupported' directory of the g729 subdirectory. There are versions for both Asterisk 1.2 and Asterisk 1.4 in both 32-bit and 64-bit flavors; we will be updating the other 'unsupported' codecs and also producing Solaris/X86 versions some time
