loadings matrices in plsr vs pcr in pls pacakage
Dear list, I have a question concerning the above mentioned methods in the pls package with respect to the loadings matrix produced by the call. In some work I am doing I have found that the values produced are nearly of the same magnitude but of opposite sign. When I use the example data (sensory) I find this result reproduced. I am prepared to work this through but I have a feeling that

dumping using tftp
Hello, I'm not quite sure I understand how do you use HDT for dumping over tftp server. The wiki on dumping does not offer much details on how to set this up. >From my understanding is you need to run pxelinux somewhere but being that HDT is a bootable cd ISO, I don't see how I can get HDT up from a TFTP server without the need to install something on that TFTP server. Is there a more

dumping using tftp
Hi Yeah I ended up figuring it out My usage for the tool will be to gather hardware specs of new servers that we receive and servers we have in storage I will then see if I can script something to phrase the dumps to update our inventory tool. Our main issue is that gathering information manually by opening the server and having to locate each parts is time consuming and being humans we are

Oracle 8.1.7 client
I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO close to getting my ERP package to run. GRRR. Latest version of Codeweaver WINE, just downloaded yesterday. IE works, MSOffice works well - no icons, but still runs, including JAVA. So, WINE seems to work OK. The program is a Delphi EXE, using the BDE. I can even run BDEADMIN, but when attempting to login to the database, there is a lot of disk churning (indicating I am

Asterisk to switch on electric heaters remotely?
Hello I'm sure someone has already tried this: I use a couple of electric heaters to heat my office. I'd like to somehow connect them to Asterisk so that I could switch them on remotely by either calling the IVR or sending an e-mail to the Asterisk host, so that the room is warm when I get to the office :-) Any information appreciated. Thank you.

SSH Compression - Block Deduplication
Hello, I did a search against the list archive and didn't see any comments on the topic of using deduplication as a compression algorithm. This is just a suggestion for the developers to think about. Block de-duplication is found in higher end WAN gear. The idea is to mantain an indexed dictionary of data blocks. If a matching block is found prior to transmission, a token (hash id)

ARIMA with more than one seasonality period
Dear R community, I have a project with electricity load forecasting, and I got hourly data for system load. If you haven't worked with electricity before, seasonality comes in many flavors: a daily pattern, with a peak at around 7pm; a weekly pattern, in which we use more electricity on weekdays in comparison to weekends; a winter-summer pattern, with air conditioning and heaters playing an

[LLVMdev] ANTLR?
I've done extensive research on the subject and if you want to parse ALL of C++, there are only two options, g++ or the Edison Design Group C++ front-end. Both of these have projects designed to make this easier LLVM (as you know) and Rose (http://www.rosecompiler.org/), which works with the EDG compiler. AspectC++, OpenC++, Antler, TLX, all work with only a portion of the grammer. On Sat,

[LLVMdev] Does someone has experience with Canadian cross build of LLVM compiler?
Hello, Ekaterina. FYI, my configure has '--host=i686-pc-mingw32' w/o any additional variables. and then the build host (ppc fedora 12) has toolchain 'i686-pc-mingw32-*'. It could build everything successfully, but I have not built it for a few months :p 2010/11/30 Ekaterina Sanina <ekaterina.sanina at gmail.com>: > cross-compile-build-tools: >         $(Verb) if [ !

Canadian call quality issue
hello, we have been using a couple of US based VoIP providers for outbound calls completed within the US, without any issues. We recently started making calls to Canada and have received a few complaints about the call quality. Questions : - Could this be because of the number of intermediate IP hops between us / our VoIP provider and the Canadian phone companies ? -
