I have Gentoo with 2.4.29 kernel installed on a 1.0Ghz Celeron. I patched the kernel for extended attributes and acl support. I compiled samba with acl, kerberos and ldap support. I am now trying to join my Windows 2000 domain. -- smb.conf (cleansed): [global] realm = SOMEDOMAIN workgroup = SOMEDOMAIN security = domain password server = 00.00.00.00

[PATCH 2/3] virtio_ring: assume sgs are always well-formed.
We used to have several callers which just used arrays. They're gone, so we can use sg_next() everywhere, simplifying the code. On my laptop, this slowed down vring_bench by 15%: vring_bench before: 936153354-967745359(9.44739e+08+/-6.1e+06)ns vring_bench after: 1061485790-1104800648(1.08254e+09+/-6.6e+06)ns However, a more realistic test using pktgen on a AMD FX(tm)-8320 saw a few

[PATCH net-next v4 2/6] virtio-net: use per-receive queue page frag alloc for mergeable bufs
The virtio-net driver currently uses netdev_alloc_frag() for GFP_ATOMIC mergeable rx buffer allocations. This commit migrates virtio-net to use per-receive queue page frags for GFP_ATOMIC allocation. This change unifies mergeable rx buffer memory allocation, which now will use skb_refill_frag() for both atomic and GFP-WAIT buffer allocations. To address fragmentation concerns, if after buffer
