Interrupt latency problems
I'm debugging a TxFax problem whereby the fax transmission fails. I suspect interrupt latency--some interrupt routine is holding its interrupt too long. I have all unnecessary services switched off and X is not running when I perform these tests. Some transmission are successful while others fail at random points. I've noticed that after I boot Linux, load zaptel, wcfxo, and wcfxs,

Zap Clocking - Frame Slips - tdm400p wcfxo zttest cpu spikes spandsp
I've made some modifications to zttest in order to use it as a frame clock accuracy tester / slip detector. I'm not certain if that was it's original purpose, but it seems that a lot of folks try to use it that way. The result is something that I'm calling ztclock for now to help avoid confusion. I'm including the source at the end of this post. You can compile it by placing

re: 120 GB larger hard disk
Hi, I donĀ“t think that this is a ext3 Problem, since you have problems partitioning that disk. Perhaps a hdparm -i /dev/hdX could shine some light on this, also a fdisk -l /dev/hdX could be useful. For now - let me guess: <guess> To me, it seems, that the disk is clipped to 32GB, perhaps the mainboard bios can not cope with a disk >32GB - just a thought. Since the manufactorer

CPU spikes with wcfxs loaded
I need to reopen this discussion because it's impossible to run spandsp (and VoIP) under these circumstances. With zaptel unloaded, I see the following "vmstat 1" output: no swapping, an occasional disk output, +/- 1003 interrupts/sec., less than 10 context switches/sec., CPU idle 100%. A very quiet system. I load modules zaptel and wcfxo, and the system utilization stays the

FXO/FXS cpu spikes, data loss and ztclock.
Digging further into the FXO cpu spike vs clock issue, I removed the 18.432 MHZ crystal from an FXO card and replaced it with a 20.000 MHZ crystal. This of course forced the zaptel timing way off ~ 93% accurate using ztclock. I then proceeded to modify the wcfxo.c driver source code to set the proper PLL divider values to return the DAA clock back to 8 Khz. I came up with the values of N1=25,

SpanDSP - Training failed (convergence failed) error
I am having a problem with SpanDSP. What happens is when I send a fax to SpanDSP the fax message seems to fail in the training phase. I think it's a timing error, however I have no idea about how to rectify the problem. I have included a copy of the log below. I am using a Digium TDM-400P card with 2 x FXO ports and 2 x FXS ports. The fax is connected to one of the FXS ports (Zap3). The

I am getting occasional seek error on my boot drive. DMA disabled on SATA disk with Core Duo/i955 machine (Inspiron 6400)
I am trying to use CentOS 4 on this machine and it does not allow me to set DMA to 1, it just says that it is not possible. I have tried updating to the latest release and it still won't work. I have searched for it on Google and there is a thread mentioning the same machine and CentOS, but none of the solutions (-p, -X 12) seem to work at all and there is no "it works!!!!!"

info about hdds in raid
How can I tell wich HDD to swap, when the "cat /proc/mdstat" says one HDD of the RAID1 array has died? Does the HDD's has some serial numbers, that I can see in "reality", and I can get that number from e.g.: a commands output? How could I know wich HDD to swap in e.g.: a RAID1 array? thank you -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment

spandsp and app_rxfax (alternative topic: t38modem)
Dear gods of the PBX (flattery works here, right?) - I've been pulling my hair out trying to get Asterisk to receive and decode a fax using spandsp and app_rxfax. It seems like it should be working. The fax machine on the other end connects and Asterisk reports a fax coming in. But when it's done all I have is a 2 or 3 KB TIF (see attachment). The console activity looks completely

trying app_fax.c
I downloaded spandsp0.0.6pre17 I download http://sf.net/projects/agx-ast-addons for app_txfax and found trunk/app_fax to be newer so I used that. spandsp compiled fine. app_fax compiled when loading I get: [Apr 5 08:55:54] ^[[1;31;40mWARNING^[[0;37;40m[7505]: ^[[1;37;40mloader.c^[[0;37;40m:^[[1;37;40m433^[[0;37;40m ^[[1;37;40mload_dynamic_module^[[0;37;40m: Error loading module

spandsp with TDM fxo card?
Has anyone made spandsp to work with a digium tdm fxo card? I finally got the rxfax and txfax modules to compile, the spandsp lib installed (and in the libpath), and now receive: -- Starting simple switch on 'Zap/1-1' -- Executing RxFAX("Zap/1-1", "/var/fax.tif") in new stack -- Hungup 'Zap/1-1' I've tried to adjust rxgain/txgain in

Anyone have a reliable T.38 Solution
Aloha, We are looking to roll a solution that will have the following network layout: ISDN-PRI <--> Asterisk <--> T.38 <--> ATA <--> Fax Does version 1.8 with the Digium fax driver have this capability? I like 1.8 because it is a long term support version. What ATA's are people using? Any working solutions would be great! Aloha, Matt
