Howto disable adsi in app_voicemail.c so I can noload *adsi*.so
Hi all,
I've been told that part of best practices is to noload all modules that
you don't use. Adsi being one of them (are there actually people using
adsi & asterisk?) I noloaded it in /etc/asterisk/modules.conf:
noload => res_adsi.so
noload => app_adsiprog.so
When I start * (this is cvs head of today by the way) I get:

Fwd: Setting up ADSI
I sent this yesterday from my wrong email account.
yeah,
Thank you. I screwed up by only looking at adsi.conf, and not
asterisk.adsi.
Once I saw that, things started falling into place.
Are you able to pass arguments to the phone so that for every call
there is unique data on the screen. I see that works for caller
id with $Call1p and $Call1s, but what If I obtain an OrderID

Setting up ADSI
I have searched through the archives to no avail.
Can someone give a quick overview or starting point
for ADSI.
I just received a 390 and was told that it is unlocked.
But am not sure of the next step...
I have tried a limited test using the adsi.conf and received:

Setting time on ADSI phones from Asterisk
Hi,
Would anyone know of a way to set the time automatically on an ADSI
capable phone from *?
The phone in question is a Aastra 480e.
While I am at it, does anyone have any helpful docs on the ADSI script
programming? I have managed to do basic functions by modifying the
asterisk.adsi file using stuff gleaned from the app_adsiprog.c file,
but docs would be really helpful at this point.

Asterisk sees inbound call, but won't answer
Good evening,
I am just getting started with Asterisk. I have it installed, and I believe
I am on the right track, overall, to get it working, but I can't get the
linejack to answer any calls.
At this point, all I'm trying to do is have Asterisk answer an inbound call
on my linejack, /dev/phone0, and play a greeting or tone. I figure, once I
am able to get asterisk to actually answer the

how to prevent res_odbc from loading
I am trying to resolve a problem where grandstream phones (only)
fail to register after a period of time.
I have a mysql realtime setup that appears to work, but fails
for no reason.
before i classify the realtime system as unusable, I am trying
to isolate the problem.
One thing I have noticed is the odbc driver continues to load
even though I have removed (from what I can tell) references

Crash on reload only with autoload=no
Hi,
I've been having a little problem with my asterisk servers, I have 4
identical asterisk servers setup (same hardware, same OS, same config). Once
in a while (once or twice a day) one of the server crashes on the cron job
reload. But I realized this only happens on 3 of the 4 servers. Tried to
spot the difference between that one server that wasn't crashing. The
difference I found was

Can Cisco 5XX phones share asterisk phone directory?
Hi!
Please is it possible for Cisco 5XX phones to use asterisk/FreePBX phone

Thanks in advance!

No Sound and Jungle:
Hi everyone,
I am running asterisk on red hat linux 9 box. The sound card is Intel
82801db AC' 97 audio and the module is i810_audio. It runs well with other
applications like xmms and the standard tests deliver a sound . I have also
tried to record voice and that works well too.

there is none. The same thing

Asterisk Fails To Start on Reboot Mysql
Apparently asterisk cannot reboot gracefully (unattended)
when using realtime....
MySQL RealTime: Failed to connect database server asterisk on 127.0.0.1.
Check debug for more info.
WARNING[3763]: MySQL RealTime: Couldn't establish connection. Check debug.
Since asterisk starts before mysql it will never start
any workaround for this?

Programming an unlocked ADSI Astra 390 phone?
Greetings,
I have just purchased several Astra 390 phones ready for asterisk. I
have placed a line with
adsi=yes
in the Zapata.conf file just before
channel => 13
I have also added an extension
exten => 6199,1,ADSIProg(asterisk.adsi)
exten => 6199,2,Hangup
in the extensions.conf file.
When I try to program the phone I get the following:

Aastra 480e phone ADSI config
There isn't much documentation on adsi, but I called NETXUSA (the vendor
of my 480e) and they helped me along.
My experience:
1. I really had no experience with ADSI so I had (probably still have)
some misconceptions on how the configuration is loaded onto the phone.
2. I set the following in my /etc/asterisk/asterisk.adsi (most of this
is the stock asterisk.adsi script):

ADSI phone vs. IP phone
Assuming the price of an ADSI screen phone (say, Aastra 390) was the same
as an IP screen phone (say, Cisco 7960) and someone was setting up an *
server for their 20 employees (each of whom would have either an ADSI or IP
phone on their desk), would there be advantages to using the ADSI phones
over the IP phones, or vice-versa? For discussion, let's assume that the
hardware needed to
