OT: Recommendation for Dynamic DNS on Meshbox?
I'm going to do a deployment of LocustWorld MeshBoxes in some of our remote locations. Build 90 comes with Asterisk 1.0, and our plan is to use the MeshBoxes as a WAP for non-Asterisk uses but also to add a 2nd NIC to deploy Snom's in the remote location. This works fine (was suprisingly easy to do), and I have the Meshbox running Asterisk and IAX'ing to our primary no problem. They

voip encryption options
I've looked around briefly for what options are available for encrypting the media stream using asterisk. I did not see any SRTP support, and it looks like there is some initial work on iax2 encryption, but whether it works is still open for question I guess. I'm also curious of other solutions that could be bolted onto the front end of asterisk to provide encryption, and are there

Lower cost router suitable for VOIP ?
Hi, we're testing Asterisk 1 RC 2 behind ordinary router and NAT. Since we're sharing network with web server it seems like voip packets are not coming through fast enough (Digium demo dies after few seconds...). It's the same if I make direct calls (passing Asterisk) so we conclude it's network problem - it also work normally outside our router... I wonder what solutions can we

Wireless LANs and Asterisk
Has anyone had any experience with wireless LANs and Asterisk? We have and here are my impressions. We configured an Asterisk in the office as a precaution to see how it would work for our own retail customers. Our office is open space, about 800 sq ft. (20x40 area). We use Snom200 and Grandstream SIP phones. Using the latest Linksys wireless access point (WAP54g) and 3 wireless bridges

can't hear 'service messages' when iax is in the middle
If I call a cellular phone while it's off, I can't hear the voice saying "called number is unreachable", but only if I'm passing trough a iax channel. SIP client ---> Asterisk ---> SIP gateway, works SIP client ---> Asterisk client ---> Asterisk server ---> SIP gateway, doesn't work (I can't put an explicit Answer in the extension for billing

Voice Over WiFi
Hello all, this is not really an * question but it is somehow related, i am trying to develop a working proposal for cheap and quick telephony services using Voip running over *. By running a wireless network (over 802.11 a/b/g devices), i plan to be able to reach customers directly with eithe table top or handheld 802.11 sip enabled phones. But the disadvantage is that how do i power each radio

IPIP Tunnel
Hi guys, I''m trying to setup an IPIP tunnel between a Cisco router and a firewall running Debian GNU/Linux Sarge with Shorewall 2.0.13. I''ve read and implemented the http://shorewall.net/IPIP.htm document, but I don''t understand why there should be at the same time a "tunnel" and a "tunnels" script. Shorewall still refuses to let the

IP Tunneling
Hello I have /25 addressed on a box (virtual devices on eth0) and I want to tunnel some of these addresses to my home network. One address to my gateway (a.b.c.d, external IP) and one address to my internal network (192.168.0.0/24-style). I will use the tunnels for irc, smtp and surfing. What protocol and which technique is easiest and best to use? One more thing. I don''t want to set up

ipip and nexthdr
After carefull reading (LARTC) and experimentation, I am in a dead end... I am using several IPIP tunnels (linux ipip module, IP protocol 4). I''d like to filter packets going through these tunnes to different classes, on the ingress device, based on source and destination IP _INSIDE THE TUNNEL_. First I tried the nexthdr bit. As explained in LARTC, nexthdr jumps to the next header

IPIP Tunnel Packets not shaped/policed
Hi, I''ve a gateway host (cali), connected to the Internet via ADSL and a PPTP tunnel (ppp0). I also have a IPIP tunnel to another host over the Internet (mytun), nothing fancy. This is working perfectly. But I want to give more priority to the IPIP packets coming OUT of the PPP (PPTP connection) interface. And I can''t get this to work. Class 2:21 is the one with high

IPIP tunnels and TCP connections
I was trying the following setup with IPIP tunnels, one that used to work through another ISP, but no longer... Only iterating over the middle content_columns?
Standard behavior for the list action is to use content_columns to get all the fields of a model and then do something with them. I''d like to ignore some of them and iteratre over the rest. For instance I may have A B C D ... X Y Z and I''d like to do something special with A and B and then Y and Z, but in the middle I''d definitely like a loop to say

msiexec --help output in the middle of wine install log
I've installed an application from the command line with: wine 'F:\Setup.exe' 2>&1 | tee wine.log In the log, somewhere towards the end of the install, appears the same output as you get with the command line: msiexec --help which suggests to me that my application's installer or Wine has messed up an invocation of msiexec and as a consequence the installation may be

Using unicode character for 'middle dot' in options(OutDec)
When drawing a graph, I'd like the unicode character 'middle dot' (or something else similar to \cdot in latex) to be used when writing numbers. Something like the following works for me: x <- 1:10 y <- runif(length(x)) par(las=1, bty='n') plot(x,y, ylim=c(0,1), yaxt='n') p <- pretty(y) axis(2, at=p, labels=format(p, decimal.mark="\u00B7")) at
