Managing R packages under Linux
Greetings,
I need to develop a way to manage the installation and update of R
packages under linux (CentOS), hopefully using Puppet. I''ve got most of
the rest of hodge-podge of install scripts and maintenance scripts
translated into Puppet and need to tackle this beast now.
R is a programming language for statistics, basically, and has a few
jillion add on package libraries, very much

Package management
Anyone care to share how they handle yum updates?
We have a script that runs yum update nightly and then emails us the
results when there are packages to be updated. Ideally I''d like a way to
keep a class in site.pp that can be uncommented to run yum update -y
after the update list is reviewed by a human.

Exchange 5.5 not seeing new Domain accounts - lsass.exe searching local SAM
Hi,
First of all, The problem i am having is not directly related to Samba.
So apologies, however there are a lot of people on this list who know a
good deal about how windows (and related technologies) work so i'm
hoping they can shed some light on the matter.
Background :
I successfully completed a migration from a Windows NT4 Domain to s
Samba domain with LDAP backend about 2 months.

The user type: restrict login
Hi there,
If I create a user, there seems to be no way to restrict it from being
able to log in. Is there a simple way in which I can extend it to do
that, or will I have to build my own define?
It would also be useful to specify the user''s ssh keys and authorized
keys, for example.
I am also wondering how much effort it would be to add another provider
for user (such as

[PATCH][0.9] Make bool CompWindow::isFocussable Wrappable
Hi,
The attached core patch makes the 'isFocussable' getter in CompWindow
wrappable. This way, plugins such as winrules can make core's getter
function return a different value to the one stored internally without
actually having to modify the value.
Kind Regards,
Sam

I sent three messages to the list on Tuesday, but none of them have
reached the archive, and I've not seen a reply. I'll send the other two
separately. The problem may be at my end, but I didn't get any error
messages.

Is there a way to add a legend to an image plot? I don't see any
reference to legends in the documentation (so I suppose the answer is
no?). Although the documentation says image takes plot() parameters, it
isn't clear to me how the usual use of legend in a plot command

puppetd can set more than one server address
hi,all
I want set up a puppet HA structure. but if the puppetd can
set more than one server address ,the work will be simple :D
if one puppetmaster have error, the client can auto try the
next. I think I can use the heartbeat or dns to do this same
thing, but not so good. so I want know the puppetd can direct set in
the configure file ? if not, will be add this option?

[PATCH][0.9] Move modifier handling into a separate top-level class
Hi,
The attached patch moves modifier handling into a separate top-level
class along with CompScreen in order that modifier manipulation and
conversion functions are exposed to plugins. It is required by
vpswitch for example.
The patch has been tested and works fine and shouldn't require an ABI
bump because no function in screen.h has been removed, only functions
in privatescreen.h

--exclude-from works but "exclude from" in rsyncd.conf doesn't ?
I'm setting rsync up for the first time and would prefer to have the
exclude file defined in the conf file, but the exclusions aren't
honoured when I define the parameter in rsyncd.conf - although they are
when I specify the file in an argument. The server is the remote system
and both rsyncd.conf and the exclude file are the same on both local and
remote systems. I'm attaching the

passwd and secrets files (2.5.6)
I am a little confused regarding the above files. As I read the man
pages, the passwd file is for the password of the user as which the
rsync server runs - on the server machine. The secrets files (AFAIK)
contain the name:password for the valid users of rsync. Some problems
that arose ("address family not supported") went away after I updated
both this file and the password file. These
