Fonts
Hello all,
I have just installed Centos 3 and I can't help notices that the fonts are blurry. I have been using RH9 and then Fedora and the fonts there are fine, But Whitebox and Centos seem to be blurie. Can anyone tell if Cents has the Byte-code interpreter enabled in Freetype?
Thanks all.

Sarah: RHSA tracking tool
Hi,
I'm working on a RHSA tracking tool, named Sarah. It allows you to build a
local RHSA database of different RHEL releases and then allows you to
verify systems for compliance (and lists applicable RHSA and required
packages).
But before releasing my prototype, I would like to know what requirements
people have. How they would be using such a tool and what for reports they
need to

The mozilla src.rpm is there, but the devhelp one seems to be missing from
the mirrors....

CentOS 4.1
Question about differences in RHEL 4.1 and CentOS 4.1 organization. Does CentOS
follows same organization as RHEL? I don't see separate directory for 4.1 on
Red Hat's ftp server (well, the public part of it, with SRPM packages), seems
like all the updates were simply dumped into the 4.0 updates area, so basically
doing normal system upgrade will bump all RHEL 4.0 systems to 4.1.

turning off prelinking?
In short, the reason considering (and still only considering) turning it off is
to make tripwire usable again (security vs. performance, I guess).
Is it possible to completely turn it off system-wide? Any additional steps
needed on the existing system (that already have half of the binaries
prelinked)?
What order of performance degradation to expect? If it is minor, nobody is
going to cry

Help!
Please I need some help using R to
analyze my data. What I
would like to do is to repeat the same basic process (e.g. linear regression
between wood density and distance from pith) for at least 240 data
subsets
within the main data-frame. Within the main data-frame, these data subsets will be defined by three
variables
namely, species, individual and core (i.e. 20 species, at least 6

Where the error message comes from?
Hi all:
I get the following error message that I am not able to resolve.
Error in if (const(t, min(1e-08, mean(t)/1e+06))) { :
missing value where TRUE/FALSE needed
It appears right before the last data.frame statement.
Below is the program that simulates data from one way random effects
model and then computes normality and bootstrap confidence interval for

When to use bootstrap confidence intervals?
Hello, I have a question regarding bootstrap confidence intervals.
Suppose we have a data set consisting of single measurements, and that
the measurements are independent but the distribution is unknown. If
we want a confidence interval for the population mean, when should a
bootstrap confidence interval be preferred over the elementary t
interval?
I was hoping the answer would be

Wine compilation without fonts in CentOS 5.4
I'm new to Linux and am using CentOS 5.4 (RHEL) as distribution. I'm trying to compile the latest version of wine 1.1.43 to install the Full Tilt Poker. I compile, but with some errors in the shell. I install the Full Tilt Poker, but when I play, the fonts do not appear. Screens appear without something in writing. In Ubuntu the fonts appear normally, but with an install .deb. Could anyone

CentOS releases and the new and improved CentOS Vault.
There seems to be some confusion over the way we release CentOS, and the
release cycle.
First, let's define what the upstream provider does.
They released RHEL-2.1 (originally RHAS-2.1), RHEL-3 and RHEL-4. Those
are specific and unique releases. They have the following Maintenance
Phases:
Phase 1: Full Support
Start Date: General Availability
End Date: 2.5 Years from General

Freetype fonts
Wine cannot find the FreeType font library. To enable Wine to
use TrueType fonts please install a version of FreeType greater than
or equal to 2.0.5.
http://www.freetype.org
I always get this message, however I do have the freetype font library
linked to as libfreetype.so in my /usr/lib32 folder, this is the only
library Wine can't seem to find... any solutions?
Thanks

Barplot problem
Hello,
I have little experience with r, so I wonder if someone could help me?
I need to plot a diversity measure (Fisher`s alpha) for different sites. I
calculated the values using the following commands:
Data(BCI)
alphaBCI <- fisher.alpha(BCI)
I need boxplots showing the data variation between sites. Then I tried:
boxplot(as.data.frame(alphaBCI))
However, it does not appear the box plots

Fonts broken in post-0.9.1 CVS
Fonts on Wine CVS post-0.9.1 are very ugly:

But if I replace a custom-built Wine CVS installation with the Wine 0.9.1
Debian sid package from Sourceforge, it looks much better:

For those of you that either have an older revision of my firewall document, or are otherwise keeping track of it, there is a new version available. The current version of the document is version 3.1. It's changed rather significantly in some areas.
