Anybody Configure Shorewall w/ Sangoma WANPipe T1?
Hi, I learned about shorewall a few days ago and am quite impressed with how easy it was to create a powerful firewall. I set up a test system with a cable modem and it worked flawlessly. I''m going to be building a Router/Firewall for a new T1 that will be using a Sangoma WANpipe card w/ integrated CSU/DSU to connect to a T1. Has anybody done this yet, or do you know if it''s

suggestions on an IP T1 to TDM T1 gateway solution
Can anyone offer up a suggestion on a reliable and cost effective customer premise hardware setup to be able to take an inbound IP T1 and deliver a PRI interface to a remote office? Trying to reduce the amount of hardware required to implement this, right now we use a Cisco router to take the IP T1 in on a serial port and then we go Ethernet to a slimmed asterisk box with a single port T1

T1 DSU's/Split for voice
Hello All, I was wondering if I could do the following on asterisk... Get a T1 between 2 locations, and split it into a data channel of like 1024, and use the rest for voice channels. Has anyone done this and had it working well? Or would I need to get a csu that allows a split into two interfaces? Regards, Greg

Integrated T1
Can an asterisk box equipped with a Digium T1 card handle Integrated T1 circuits? I have a T1 with 768k data and the remaining channels voice, can the asterisk box do the Data routing + Voice processing? It's only going to support 4-5 users(the voice channels won't all be active obviously). ________________________________ This e-mail, facsimile, or letter and any files or attachments

Pinouts for T1/E1 crossover cable WAS "RE: whatcable to connect a legacy PBX to a TE410P ?"
The "telco guys" probably did something non-industry standard and reversed send and receive in the jack that they plugged the CAT5 into. Sure it works, sure it is easier, sure it is not the correct way of doing things. Wilcox Test / Mann Whitney U Test
Hello List, I'm trying to prepare some lecture notes on non parametric methods, and I can't manually reproduce the results of the wilcox.test function for ordinal data. The data I'm using are from David Howell's website, available here http://www.uvm.edu/~dhowell/StatPages/More_Stuff/OrdinalChisq/OrdinalChiSq.html If I run the wilcox.test function on the data I get a p-value of

Linux as T1 router
Hello All, I am thinking about using a linux server as a T1 router. I have searched the list, but have not found a discussion about what I''m trying to do. I have a situation where the Cisco router I''m using will not handle the additional bandwidth I added recently. Unfortunately, I cannot afford the Cisco unit that will. I would like to know if anyone has successfully done

asterisk T100P to Merlin Legend
Management just approved purchase of a Digium T100P and a T1 card for our Merlin Legend Switch. I will appreciate comments from anyone performing this installation before: - Which T1 card did you use in the Merlin Legend? - Did you require any special interface? (CSU/DSU, etc) - Any items to watch during installation. Also we will need to remove one of our old analog Trunk cards to accomodate

Should I choose DSL @ 1.5 or a full T1?
I'm looking to expand my bandwidth for my Asterisk PBX. Why should I choose a T1 over DSL for my asterisk server? I found someone offering T1's for $290 a month + Loops or 3 Meg for $561 a month + Loops. Is this a good deal? Thanks Bart -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... Asterisk and Cisco 7960 problems persist (for me, anyway)
It seems that each time I get a new checkout of * from CVS my Cisco 7960 works worse than before. I know this stuff's in flux, so I mention this in case it's news. Anyone else having trouble? What I'm seeing (er, hearing) is really choppy audio. The previous version I had installed had fairly frequent audio dropouts (not present when I make the same calls through the same * box

Dropouts and echo
Hi all, We have recently implemented an Asterisk system using Trixbox (asterisk v1.4.4 at the moment, yet to move to 1.4.9) but are getting pressure to switch back to our old key system unless we fix two major issues. So please help me avoid switching back! An overview: We have about 12 Linksys SPA941 SIP phones connected on a private switched network to our asterisk box which is a

ISDN config: LBO values
Hi all, When configuring Asterisk with an ISDN card, it will at one point become necessary to select the LBO (Line Build-Out) value. This is an integer (0-7) that is determined by the length of the cable and is selected from the following table. Many of us are familiar with it: CSU (dB) DSX-1 (feet) ------------------------------- 0 0 0?133 1

POTS lines vs. using T1 to connectphoneservices?? HELP
Kevin, Are you in the US? If so then you've probably got several carriers to choose from. In my experience analog lines have a flat expense of $20-$25 per month. That equates to about $140-$175 per month in flat fees, plus you have usage on top of that. (Your experience may vary.) I am currently experimenting with a company out of NY called Digizip (www.digizip.com) that sold me a Qwest

Zaptel.conf and multiple T1 woes
Hello. New to the list. We're in the process of deploying Asterisk. Actually, we're going live tomorrow, and I just found out that my Zaptel cards have been mis-configured. I'll preface this by saying that I have looked in the wiki, read through the samples, and attempted to call Digium (they're closed.) So I'm praying that someone on the list can help me out! I have two

Tired of dropouts and garbled phone calls - where to go next?
All, The users in our organization are well, quite frankly, sick of phone service that is being provided. The choppy phone calls, and drop outs are detrimental to our sales force. I've tried about everything I can think of. Moved the asterisk server from VM machine to dedicated machine More than enough bandwidth Setting 802.1p = 7 Set Dedicated voice traffic 35% of bandwidth. Not sure

Sound drop out with totem. mplayer Can't open audio device /dev/dsp
Hey all. This morning I found that my audio playback is randomly sprinkled with sound skips and dropouts. I went to /var/log/yum.log and found this: Feb 09 20:18:22 Updated: lame-3.99.4-2.el6.rf.i686 I'm not saying that caused the problem but it's all I could find that changed. When I ls in /dev there is no dsp entry. That would explain why mplayer Can't open audio device
