Least Cost Routing
Anyone using the rate_engine from TrollPhone? There is absolutly no documentation on how to setup data in the tables. If someone could send sample data, or post it to the wiki, it would be helpful. If any others are successfully using another Least Cost Routing method, please pass it along. THanks, Matthew

LCR / Trollphone Rate Engine
Hi. Thank you to Olle, the Wiki, and Trollphone. I found the Trollphone Rate Engine listed on the Wiki at: http://www.voip-info.org/wiki-Asterisk+addon+rate-engine I'm not familiar with LCR yet, but this is something that I need to do. I have it all installed but am not familiar with the terminology. Can someone help me maybe figure out what some of these fields are for? mysql>

Packet8 and Asterisk, do they play nice?
Has anyone gotten Packet8 setup as a sip trunk for Asterisk? Would they be so kind as to share their config or point me to a website that shows how it can be done? I would be much obliged. imap idle on non-inbox?
Can this be done with dovecot? I really like the imap idle feature, but it doesn't work for me because I sort my mail into folders with procmail, so it only notifies me when one drops into inbox and not a subfolder. Is there just an option for this I'm missing, or does support for this not exist yet? Also, I don't think its a client issue as I watched the traffic with tcpdump

Has anyone had any luck getting the rate engine app from trollphone.org to work? I've been trying to find documentation on how to set up the information in the mysql tables. Asterisk 1.0.3 no RedHat zaptel script?
Just out of interest, why is there no zaptel script included in the tarballs of 1.0.3? I used to use the RPMS but they haven't been updated for some time but now I'm missing the zaptel init.d script. Or should I have the modules loaded another way? Cheers! Remco

PAM with Samba
Hi, I am trying to get my Samba installation to use PAM under Ubuntu. I have created the /etc/pam.d/samba, but as far as I can tell samba is not using the directives in there. I have ssh and netatalk using PAM successfully against a Kerberos ticket issuer, so I know my PAM installation is working for some services. I am sure I have something wrong in my smb.conf as I am a bit of a newbie with

rate_engine substitue db field?
Is anyone familiar with the Trollphone's LCR package? There is a field in the egress table labeled substitue. Placing a $1 there results in the correct dial extension being passed. However how is this field used to substitute replacement dial extensions... in other words as an example, lets say my EXTEN as passed to and back from the rate_engine is 01144123456789 and I want to have a

NPA NXX data
HI all - I know, slightly off list, but.. I'm looking for a NPA NXX database with City and State. Actually it's for an Asterisk routing app I'm working on. I see several vendors that want a few bucks to those that want an arm and leg. I expect this is published somewhere by some government agency, but Google hasn't got me to it yet. NPA NXX
Does anyone have the NPA NXX list for North America in comma delimited file? Only looking for: NPA, NXX, City, State Just seems it should be available free somewhere? options for mysql query from dialplan
I am using realtime mysql for extensions, sip, and voicemail. Outbound call routing does not really perform well in realtime extensions due to the high number of rows in the database (300k), so I can not use it. It appears with my limited knowledge that the query method is not robust enough for large databases. Given the fact that I already have realtime and mysql configured, what are my options

US telco lingo
Could someone explain to a non-US dummy the following phrases I have seen on the list. "I can provide you with tier 1 termination 6/6. I can blend or NPANXX breakout." "We provide US48 termination, blended rate for 1 MOU and above is .008 with 6/6." What is 6/6? What is US48? What is blended? What is MOU? What is NPANXX breakout? -------------- next part --------------

SIP carrier billing technicalities
Hi, Does anyone know anything about the following? In a hosted environment where several area DIDs are provisioned on a single server, how do most carriers establish the origination DID, number. Asterisk allows us to modify the CallerID, name, number and DNID channel variables before dialling out via SIP. Most carriers will allow us to spoof a callerID when placing a call, and pass it forward.

Issue with the channel drivers
Hi, No one seems to have any issue with the following posting. Can any one suggest how to install/configure channel drivers to work. Basically I am trying to send the SIP calls to GNUGK but Asterisk reports the error "No channel driver found". >>> I was trying to compile the oh323 channel driver but unable to compile the openh323_1_13_5 (which is the only required version as
