Iaxtel and Voicepulse
I'm having trouble configuring these services the way I want. Basically I
prefer using iLBC before GSM, however Iaxtel only want to talk GSM. It
_seems_ that Voicepulse prefers GSM also, because even if I put ILBC before
GSM in the "allow=" part of iax.conf, if GSM is mentioned, Voicepulse will
use it. If I don't allow GSM Voicepulse will use ILBC.
Does anyone know how to

iaxtel and iax.conf
I have tried for over a month off and on to get iaxtel for inbound to
work... and tonight after alot of troubleshooting we noticed this:
iaxtel inbound will use the last entry in your iax.conf to auth against.
So if [iaxtel] is at the top and say [voicepulse] at the bottom. An
inbound call will try to auth against that [voicepulse] entry even with
the [iaxtel] entry at the top of the file. Has

IAXTEL is dead/dying?
I didn't get any response at all to my last "request for status" on
IAXTEL.
So, when this happens, I attribute it to one of a number of things:
1. No-one knows.
2. No-one cares.
3. Everyone knows, but are too busy to reply.
At any rate, my investigative side kicks in and I began searching thru
the digest's I've gotten, looking for references to IAXTEL. Mostly it is

What's up with IAXTEL?
I finally got around to signing up with Iaxtel and Free World Dialup...
the price was right, as far as that goes!
I've gotten and placed calls via FWD just fine. But I can't seem to get
registered, or stay registered, with Iaxtel.
My logs show the story; at startup I see:

Using IAXTEL with RSA authentication. MD5 works, RSA not. [2]
[ Sorry, I incorrectly copied some Reference headers into this post
and tacked it onto the wrong thread. -Steve ]
So far, I have been able to receive incoming iaxtel calls via my
assigned 1-700-xxx-xxxx number, but only when using md5
authentication in iax.conf:
[iaxtel]
type=user ; Incoming calls only
context=incoming

IAX problems using CVS HEAD, but not CVS STABLE
Hi All,
Sorry if this has been covered in the past; I've tried searching the
archives, but haven't had any luck finding a similar problem.
Basically I have problems when using IAX2 (which I now understand is just
IAX). I have three IAX connections setup - VoicePulse, IAXtel, and an
Asterisk IAX<->PSTN termination provider here in Sydney (ATP)
If I try to use the CVS STABLE version

IAXTEL/ Dial problem
Hello I am still having problems with IAXTELL and FWD configuration. I get the following when I dial 17009965342 which is set as an example to dial to FWD people. 1+700+99+ 5 digit number. I have placed XXXXX where my passwords are.

IAXTEL - Problem Configuration.
Ok folks I have another question. So far I have gotten my IAXTEL number and I have been able to make calls from my asterisk system to any IAXTEL number and even to FWD numbers. I also got FWD to work and I now can get calls to my main system. It's great when these things work. But when I call my own IAXTEL number 17005441100 all I get is a message saying the user is un registered or un

IAXTEL configuration for new iaxtel users.
After battling for days trying to figure out what was wrong with my iax.conf it was determined that I do not have any inkeys set on the digium server. Now whether that is something new or just in a few cases I am not sure. Messing around and reading on IRC and the mailing list I could get certain things to work and then break other things. Now I can dial a IAXTEL number, 800 number and FWD

dialling peer problems
I'm trying to use Jeremy's suggestion of dialling using just the peer name
instead of user:pass@peer but I'm running into some really funky issues.
It does the same thing with both VoicePulse and another * server I have.
[voicepulse]
type=peer
host=gw5.voicepulse.com
trunk=yes
user=USERNAME
pass=PASSWORD
and in my dialplan:
Dial(IAX2/voicepulse/${EXTEN:2}@VPWS,90,r)

SIP client to IAXTel 800/888/877/866 dialing thru Asterisk
Through my Asterisk server, I am trying to use IAXTel to dial 800-type
numbers (yes, I know I can do the same thing with FWD and others via
SIP, but I wanted to play with IAX a little). It appears I'm running
into some sort of a codec mismatch or something because it's not working
right. The SIP client is a SPA-3000.
In iax.conf, I have something like the following:

Using IAXTel to dial FWD
Hi All,
Is this working for any of you? We're supposed to be able to dial FWD
accounts through IAXTel by dialing 170099+FWD number. I don't ever seem
to be able to do this even though I can dial 800 numbers through
IAXTel.

Inbound IAXTel failing?
Is anyone else having trouble receiving IAXTel calls? I don't know if
it's my config that's broken or IAXTel that broken. Several people have
given me their IAXTel numbers and calls to them all fail. I can call
FWD numbers via IAXTel just fine.

Incoming calls from IAXTEL over NAT
Hey all,
I was playing around with IAXTEL last nite and have
outgoing calls working a treat. I'm sure I woke a few
people up in the US with my annoying test calls. :)
Anywayz, incoming calls are a different matter. I have a
NAT firewall my * box is sitting behind and the server
'appears' to have registered correctly with IAXTEL. Thing
is, when I try and call my 1700 number

changed my config files in weeks but seems that IAXTel calls (800 and FWD)
stopped working in the past week sometime.
