Asterisk + Cisco 7920 + chan_sccp or chan_skinny
Greetings,
I have seen a few postings in the past regarding the interop of Asterisk and
the Cisco 7920 WiFi phone. To date, I have not seen a definitive method to
getting the phone working. Assuming someone has this actually working, can
that person step up and answer these questions.
1) What Channel is it working with (chan_skinny or chan_sccp)?
2) If code was used that is not a part of a

Announcement: Another test release of chan_sccp
Hi all,
we are happy to announce the new test-release of chan_sccp.
The Cisco 7920 support is working now, however, some call handling stuff is
hardcoded for testing.
Also some more in-deep-knowledge of Skinny was archieved, how they
handle calls.
Please test it with your 7940/7960 and 30VIP and report any problems
using our bug tracking tool.

SLA broken in 1.4.3?
I configured my sla.conf to use with a Polycom phone. I have no idea
if I did it right, however, none of the console "sla" commands
exist. Do I have to something special to compile in this support, or
should it just work out of the box?

Chan_sccp and dynamic DNS
Hi, everybody.
I was just running into a DynDNS Problem.
One of our phones has a fixed IP, but the * box only has a dynDNS IP and a
fixed name. So all phones running SIP are able to "survive" the change of
the IP address, but not our Cisco 7920 - it changes state to "connecting to
CM0" and hangs there until reboot. After reboot it looks up the current IP
address of the * box

- very experimental hint (busy status line lamp or icon) support. This
is a very experimental system so it might not work properly with
particular cisco phones. 7960, 7970 and 7940 with recent firmware does
work great. Old phones can't, of course, use the hint system.

yes it's supported.
I can't really get it to work right 'cause I just have ciscos 7960/7905.
Can anyone donate 7910/7920/7970?
I will make them work just like they work in CCM, otherwise I will send
them back :-)

More Success on the Cisco 7920 and SCCP !!!!!
Hi All,
have some decent success on the 7920 "activation" in Asterisk.
Latest status:
chan_skinny does NOT work with 7920
chan_sccp does WORK with 7920 (!!)
however:
to remove coredumping the chan_sccp just comment out the MWI
(messagewaitingindicator), then it compiles fine.
Then change sccp_helper.c: return "P0060302" instead of the old value.
and voila:
Phone is

cisco 7920 makes 7940 reboot
I have asterisk 1.09 running with chan_sccp.20050701 on Fedora core 4 with
kernel 2.6.12.
I have a Cisco 7940 working with X-lite working on XP too, connecting to
each other, Asterisk and FWD. The 7940 upgraded to SIP7.4 with
xmlDefault.cnf.XML getting delivered via tftp using the loadInformation8
parameter method taken from voip-info.org ("Configuring Cisco 79xx phones
with Asterisk"

chan_sccp / 7960: ALERT_INFO?
I am impressed, I have been trying this for sometime using the SIP image and the only difference I can create is a 'single' and a 'double' ring on the phone. I use the 'single' ring for phone calls and the 'double' ring for the doorbell. I would love to be able to choose a ring tone based on the incoming msn or callerID. The idea of the phone shouting 'Its the

Again: 7920 Cisco IP Phone Skinny & SIP
hi!
i had some good news regarding the cisco 7920 and the internetworking
with asterisk (and possibly SIP ?).
Status: chan_sccp.so not coredumping anymore :-)
Phone contantly in reboot loop [see below] :-(
Reboot Loop means:

Phone auth's with AP
Phone gets IP from DHCP & TFTP Server
Phone loads OS7920.TXT
Phone loads SEP<macaddr>.CNF.XML

HI all:
I have spent a large amount of time configuring/installing phones
connected to Asterisk. Halfway through the process I discovered that my
Cisco7960 with 2 7914 expansions was not supported in the SIP protocol.
After reverting to SCCP 6.0(4.0) I am now perplexed with the hassle of
configuring SCCP to properly work with Asterisk.
So far I have gotten the phone to dial and receive calls

WG: Cisco 7920 WLAN Phone
Hi,
I?ve been following some information about the latest
chan_sccp drivers for a few weeks. I installed and tried
about any variant of driver that exists in the chan_sccp system.
Despite a few little changes in the CLI options I am still
encountering a lot of problems with the phone.
When not using the phone for a while, it "disconnects" from
asterisk (1.0.7) after a few hours

Problem with CHAN_SCCP
Hi, I have an asterisk running great, with 2 cisco 7912 phones converted to
SIP, and a cisco 2600 xl w/ E1 and SIP. I?m thinking to expand the test
adding more 7912, but I prefer not convert all the 7912 to SIP, so I?m tying
to put CHAN_SCCP to work. I?ve get the sources from cvs.sourceforge.net but
when I try to compile, get the followings errors:
[root@asterisk01 chan_sccp]# make

[OT - somewhat] chan_sccp status
Just wondering,
I noticed on the chan_sccp site that a new release should have been
released on 20-Jan-2005. Is there any news on the status of this
release? As far as I can tell even the sourceforge CVS for chan_sccp
didn't change much around that time - or since.

Problem compiling chan_sccp
Hi,
I recently bought a 7910. I found out too late that it would not do
SIP as I initially thought. Anyway before ditchingit for a 7960 I
wanted to try it out, I read that the guys at
http://chan-sccp.sourceforge.net/ had done some improvements to the
original chan_sccp driver and having 80% functionality with this
model.
I have not been able to compile their driver and keep getting the
