Asterisk Interface to propriotary system and GPL
Hi All,
I am wondering if I will be breaking the GPL,
if I write for example, a channel driver or
make some modifications to the astrisk source code,
to interface at RUN TIME, through sockets, with
a proprietary system.
Eg.
1. I write chan_xxx + modify asterisk source
(make changes + new code publicly available)
2. chan_xxx supports hardware by XXX Corp.
3, XXX Corps interface is

A qustion about samba
Hello ,
I'm a student in Shahed university in IRAN .
Now I'm become a member of our uni IT-Center .
We are going to have an organized network with a en-bloc user
authentication and proxy server.
In comparison between MS AD and Samba , i want to choose Samba server
( cause of my belief in Open Source ) .
Our plan have a Forest(root : shahed.ac.ir) and trees for faculties

Hardware based DSP
Hi All,
Is it correct to say that by design, asterisk wont make use of any cards
hardware dsp capabilities ?
I don't think that any of the hardware cards currently supported
have any dsp capabilities, but I wanted to know if for example,
in the future a driver was written for a card that did have dsp
capabilities,
would asterisk be able to make any use of it ?
I am only just starting out

SIP invite timeouts : how is someone sending invites from our server ??
I've been getting a lot of timeouts on non-critical invite transactions.
I turned on sip debug. They were the result of SIP invites like this:
Retransmitting #10 (NAT) to 185.107.94.10:13057:
SIP/2.0 401 Unauthorized
Via: SIP/2.0/UDP

3rd party call control / CSTA , JTAPI or TAPI interfaces
(REPOST, sorry if you get this more than once.)
Hello all,
(Not sure if this is more appropriate for user or dev list)
Does asterisk have any sort of "standards based" api that can enable
an application to do call control on the switch ?
For example, if I am developing a call center application
using asterisk, I would like to be notified of inbound calls
and then be able to route

NIST StRD linear regression
NIST maintains a repository of Statistical Reference Datasets at
http://www.itl.nist.gov/div898/strd/. I have been working through the
datasets to compare R's results to their references with the hope that
if all works well, this could become a validation package.
All the linear regression datasets give results with some degree of
accuracy except one. The NIST model includes 11 parameters,

OpenSSH private key encryption: time for AES?
Hi, all.
So, in reviewing my OpenSSH keypairs and evaluating the size my RSA keys
should be, i realized that, if i update my 2048-bit keypairs to 4096
bits, it really doesn't matter that much, because they're still
only encrypted with 3DES, which provides an effective 112 bits of
symmetric encryption strength:
$ head -4 ~/.ssh/id_rsa

ntpdate issues?
Hi, I''m trying to run ntpdate from domain zero and getting
weird results. This used to work (prior to using xen). Is
this related to xen at all or an entirely unrelated issue?
Queries seem to work:

Modelo senoidal de datos temporales de radiación y prueba de Thom
Hola a todos:
Estoy intentado realizar un modelo senoidal de unos datos de radiación
solar con el fin de afrontar el relleno de la serie y aplicar la prueba
de Thom para verificar su homogeneidad [0].
De momento me encuentro con los siguientes problemas:
1- ¿Existe la prueba de Thom en R? ¿O debo crearme mi propia función?
2- Para la realización del modelo senoidal estoy siguiendo los pasos

You might want to specify a bit more detail, such as:
- which country are you located in
- do you require inbound DDIs (if so, in which region/s)?
- which countries' Caller ID/s do you need to present?

UseR! 2010 - my impressions
Dear UseRs!,
Everything about UseR! 2010 was terrific! I really mean "everything" - the tutorials, invited talks, kaleidoscope sessions, focus sessions, breakfast, snacks, lunch, conference dinner, shuttle services, and the participants. The organization was fabulous. NIST were gracious hosts, and provided top notch facilities. The rousing speech by Antonio Possolo, who is the chief

Datasets in R
I?m trying to find datasets that will give me residuals, after applying
the lm function, with no normality, non linearity, and heteroscedacity
so I can try to exemplify
those cases in the linear regression model. Can you give any advice on
what datasets would be appropiate? I can?t use the ones in the alr3
package because those have
already been seen in class.
Thank you very much :-)

[LLVMdev] Compiler Benchmarks
FYI,
Yesterday's Slashdot had an article about Linux compiler benchmarks from
Coyote Gulch (Scott Ladd). In this update he compares GCC and ICC. You
can read the article here:
http://www.coyotegulch.com/reviews/linux_compilers/
Of particular note was his use of SciMark 2.0 which is a NIST developed
benchmark for scientific computing. Its available in both java and C and
computes a MFLOPS

CVE-2014-1692
http://web.nvd.nist.gov/view/vuln/detail?vulnId=CVE-2014-1692
The NIST advisory says that all versions of OpenSSH potentially contain the flaw. ?But is that really true? ?For example, I looked at the 3.8.1p1 distribution and didn't find any reference to JPAKE at all.
Thanks.

I am meeting a problem about probability plot and I don't know how to
