lme questions
Dear list,
the following should fit the model
log(PEPC.Wert)=fKTemp+fHerk+interaction(fKTemp,fHerk)+fMub+error,
where fKTemp, fHerk are fixed effect factors and fMub is a random effects
factor nested in fHerk (values are different fopr different values of
fHerk).

Certificate for outlook 2003
Hi all,
We are running "dovecot-1.0.7-7.el5" on a CentOS release 5.5 (Final)
box. I know, its an old version, but it cames up with the CentOS release
(yum). Anyway.
Is there a way to import the certificate, which was generated with
"mkcert_dovecot.sh", permanently to the outlook 2003 clients?
Every time, when our office 2003 clients fetches there emails (POP3s)

Conectar Access con R
Buenas:
1.1 En R-Studio -> Tools -> Global Options -> General -> Change ->

plot.default 'ylim' error message is wrong (PR#8784)
Full_Name: Lutz Prechelt
Version: 2.2.1
OS: WinXP SP2
Submission from: (NULL) (130.133.8.114)
This command
plot(0, 0, xlim=c(3, 5), ylim=c(0, 10, 17))
should complain about 'ylim' (because it has three elements).
However, it does in fact (in my german error message at least)
complain about 'xlim' instead:

inequality with NA
Dear everybody!
take a<-c(5,3,NA,6).
if(a[1]!=NA){b<-7}
if(a[3]!=5){b<-7}
if(a[3]!=NA){b<-7}
if(a[3]==NA){b<-7}
will alltogeather return
Fehler in if (a[1] != NA) { : Fehlender Wert, wo TRUE/FALSE n?tig ist
(or simularly). Somehow this is logical. But how else should I get out,
whether a certain vector-component has an existing value?
Thank you in advance!
Yours,

how to change or copy to another the names of models
Hi
I would like to know how I can change the name of a model for each
trainning cycle of a model.
I work with the RSNNS package and to build a neural network, I used :
for (i in 5:30) ....
model_ANN <- mlp(X, Y, size=n,....) # where size is the number of neurons
in the hidden layer
but I need to save each time that the model that is build (the end of each
cycle), e.g., when i = 5, I need to

figure-definition and heatmap question
Hello,
I have two questions. I'd like to visualize data with a heatmap and I have the
following testcase:
x <- rnorm(256)
nx <- x + abs(min(x))
nnx <- 255/max(nx) * nx
x <- matrix(nnx, 16, 16)

Modelling heteroskedasticity in a multilevel model
Dear list members,
I am facing a 3-level model, for which my research hypotheses suggest that
the variance of both level-1 and level-2 residuals may be a function of a
level-3 variable.
To be a bit more clear: I am fitting a longitudinal model for a panel of
companies grouped in industries. I suggest that some industry variables may
create 'unexpected' shocks at especific points in

Hallo Liste

Tiny help for tiny function
I just started to write tiny functions and therefore I appologise in advance
if I am asking stupid question.
I wrote a tiny function to give me back from the original matrix, a matrix
showing only the values smaller -0.8 and bigger 0.8.
y<-c(0.1,0.2,0.3,-0.8,-0.4,0.9)
x<-c(0.5,0.3,0.9,-0.9,-0.7,0.3)
XY<-rbind(x,y)

Conectar Access con R
Ya he visto como hacerlo:
conexion<-odbcConnect("rx")
¿Verdad?
Gracias

MusicOnHold starts magically for no reason
Dear list,
on Asterisk 1.4.21 which is being used in a callthrough scenario -
callers call via PSTN to a DID coming in via SIP and then dialing
outbound via DTMF and the outbound calls get routed via some SIP
termination provider - lately I see that every now and then MusicOnHold
gets triggered like this on outbound calls:

API Manager Events
Hi,
I'm trying to develop a java web application that places calls using
Asterisk. Basically it has to ring two terminals and connect them.
Our first approach was generating a .call file and place it in the spool
directory. Later we found out that our app needs to know what calls are
currently held and their duration, in other words it has to know when the
placed calls are terminated. We

Crosstabs in R
Before I reinvent the wheel, I have need for a relatively straightforward
crosstabulation (2 x n) function. I know that R has table(), ftable(),
xtabs(), and summary(xtabs()), but none of these produce a fully "tricked"
out cross-tabulation with marginal totals, expected cell frequencies, and
an array of statistics about the contingency table.
Is there a more complete (something
