Any interest in a Canadian Asterisk mailing list?
Just on the off chance that Canadian Asterisk users might be
interested in a place to discuss topics specific to the "great
white north" (sources, services, telcos, etc.), I created
the asterisk-canada mailing list:
http://lists.syonex.com/mailman/listinfo/asterisk-canada
or
asterisk-canada-subscribe@lists.syonex.com
Cheers!

Creating this vector, any suggetions?
Suppose I have the first vector: c(1, 6, 8, 9)
I will like to create a second vector of size 10 composed of 0 and 1's. The
second vector will be composed of four 1's and six 0's. The position of the
1's will be specificed by the first vector. So essentially, I want a second
vector in the form:
c(1, 0, 0, 0, 0, 1, 0, 1, 1, 0)
Any help is greatly appreciated!

puppet and kerberos keytabs
Hi,
we use kerberos with keytabs on our clients. We do *not* trust root on
the clients! One client should never have access to any other client''s
keytab. This is my proposed solution to get the keytabs to the clients,
any comments welcome!
1. Use file to get /root/.ssh/authorized_keys
2. Use exported resource to let the client "notify" the server that it
wants a keytab

migrating from Centos 5.8 -> 6.3 LDAP Client Config
Hi,
I run a Centos 5.8 samba server which uses a separate LDAP centos 6.3
server for user and group authentication.
Now we migrate to a new centos 6.3 samba server and I'd like to know how
do 'ldapify' that new server the best way.
I'm a bit confused if I can use the same nss setup like on the current
old server or how and what to configure to go with SSSD?
May be someone can

OpenLDAP and Samba - password expiration.
Hi all,
I have a Samba PDC with an LDAP backend. Yesterday, I tried to add a new
machine to the network and received the following message:
The following error occurred attempting to join the domain:
The password of this user has expired
Not a problem I thought, and then ran
smbldap-usermod -e "2010-12-30 00:00:00" root
to extend the password date. If I now try to connect a

Error Handling
Hi,
I am doing a project on invoice. For that I have to use a page both for
crating new invoices and for updation of existing invoices. The problem
is that when an error occures, I can''t maintain the same page for error
correction. How can I redirect it from the controller ? Or can I display
ruby errors before submit of the page in ruby?
Thanks..
Sainaba.

feature request & patch submit: chroot(2) in sshd
Hello,
whereas most people take passwd/shadow/ldap/<whatever> as the place where
decision on a chrooted environment / sandbox for certain users is met (just
set the given usershell appropriateley), I needed a somewhat different
approach. Below is a tiny patch to 2.2.0p1 which enhances the sshd-config
by two options and, when set, places all users / users of a certain group

Canada on Rails announces location, and a site redesign
BCIT Downtown Campus[1] has been chosen, with a maximum capacity of 300
people. With already over 50% of the seats filled, be sure to register soon
or you might miss out on one of the most exciting technical events to come
to Vancouver.
YVR06 will be twice the size of the last conference by Open Source Events[2]
held last June, and with 4 times the amount of speakers, during the two
days. All for

I did a count today and found that there are only 50 seats remaining. So
that leaves 20 days to pick up your ticket, and based on the momentum of
late registrants over the last couple weeks, this is going to be a sold out
event.
If you haven''t already, checkout the speaker lineup at

Status of Timezone support / Handeling DTSTART; TZID="(GMT-05.00) Eastern Time (US & Canada)":20080107T123000
I can not tell from the docs or from the mailing list what is the
state of timezone support in the iCalendar package?
If I want to parse an iCalendar file that has non utc dstarts and
dends will it convert those times to UTC or otherwise allow me to do
that?
When I tried to parse an iCalendar input file started off with
something like this:
