Announcing Digium/Asterisk World's Conference Program
Is this replacing Astricon this year? If so it looks like a pretty poor showing in comparison to Astricon Dallas last year. A bit of a survey: What do do if you need more than 4 C.O. lines
Folks, In light of all the troubles people report when running more than one TDM400 card in a system, I wouldn't mind hearing what your solution of choice would be when having to connect 5 or more analog telco circuits to an Asterisk. I'll try and compile the answers together and get them into the Wiki, as I figure this could be useful knowledge for the community. TIA, Jim. -- Jim

Win10 cannot access linux shares
Hi, When I upgraded from Fedora 22 to Fedora 25 my Win10 box lost the ability to connect to shares on the F25 box. The F25 box can still access shares on the Win10 box. F25 is currently running Samba 4.5.13 and I have a simple workgroup setup. Let's call the Win10 box 'fred' and the F25 box 'ethel'. When fred tries to access a share on ethel, I am prompted for username and

[semi-OT]: will icecast eventually be able to stream video ?
hello guys ! i wonder whether the new ogg theora video codec will be added to icecast2... we've been using icecast2 earlier this year for a webcast of our linux audio developers conference (http://www.linuxdj.com/audio/lad/eventszkm2003.php3), and since next year's event will be somewhat bigger, we would love to have some sort of video stream happening. it's nothing mission

Anyone know where a good source of mailing list stats might be found?
Folks, I'm curious to know how the volume of Asterisk-Users rates as far mailing lists go. This list sees over 200 messages per day, which has GOT to put it in the top 5%, doesn't it? I'd love to know if anyone has knowledge of any organization that might maintain such stats. Regards, Jim. -- Jim Van Meggelen jim@vanmeggelen.ca -- No virus found in this outgoing message.

Survey: what's the best HTTPd/TFTPd/FTPd to serve up configuration files to sets
I would like to start a discussion centred around the various ways one might serve up configuration files from an Asterisk server (I know, it's better to use a secondary server for all this, but let's talk about a smaller system). The types of things being served would include: - Logo image for sets that support that - XML directory files - XML or raw text configuration files -

Any interest in a Canadian Asterisk mailing list?
Just on the off chance that Canadian Asterisk users might be interested in a place to discuss topics specific to the "great white north" (sources, services, telcos, etc.), I created the asterisk-canada mailing list: http://lists.syonex.com/mailman/listinfo/asterisk-canada or asterisk-canada-subscribe@lists.syonex.com Cheers! Brainstorm: Running Asterisk as cool as possible - AKA solid state.
I would like to ask what people think the best way would be to build a low-power consumption, passively-cooled system. For example, one could use a fanless-Eden (mini-ITX/EPIA) system, but the loss of FPU power would limit performance. The obvious choice for FPU work are the Intels and AMDs, nut they're all power-hungry radiators. Is there something that can offer the quiet, power-savings of

RE: [on-asterisk] Brainstorming dual-core and Asterisk
I believe you can assign processors in vmware, and xen as well. So you could probably do something funky like that to try to reduce load. The only thing that probably becomes difficult is trying to manage physical hardware between virtual machines. cvs problem...
hello everyone! i have a problem checking out the icecast cvs. the checkout stalls after pulling timing/timing.h (no matter which module, they all seem to depend on it). i have to kill it after a while. am i doing anything wrong, or is your cvs botched ? for now, i'm using a nightly snapshot, but i can't find ices2 in it, so i tried to pull cvs. btw, the chroot feature is cool. i

CentOS for musicians?
Hello, still searching but didn't find very precise answers yet, is there a computer-aided musical creation -oriented flavor of CentOS (like the Ubuntu Studio)? Or would it be about gathering stuff from different repos and setting up everything by hand? A repository that would provide low-latency kernel (realtime one?): I've found the CentOS-RT from the CERN + (1)). Specific tools (from

breakpoints and nonlinear regression
Dear Forum, I have been wracking my head over this problem for the past few days. I have a dataset of (x,y). I have been able to obtain a nonlinear regression line using nls. However, we would like to do some statistical analysis. I would like to obtain a confidence interval for the curve. We thought we could divide up the curve into piecewise linear regressions and compute CIs from those

R crashes when communicating with JAGS
There is a thread on this topic already: http://finzi.psych.upenn.edu/Rhelp10/2010-August/250934.html I'm rather mystified by a similar problem and wondering whether I've overlooked something obvious. I'm running with latest versions of R and all packages, and latest version of JAGS running under Windows 7. Here's the problem. I have some source code. It's given below -
