Asterisk make ext. light up?
Is there any phone SIP, FXS, etc. that works with asterisk that will show if extensions or FXO's are in use?
I want to be able to see what lines are being used so I can decide if I want to pickup on them, and also see who's on the phone. Is this possible
with Asterisk?
The only thing I can come up with is maybe getting SIP phones that have builtin web browsers. Then making a web page

Asterisk Crackly Bad quality
I've freshly installed Asterisk on a Fedora C2 machine. Dual P4's, 2GB RAM. 15KRPM Drive.
Using the default configs and added one Soft Sip phone.
While listening to the demo the quality isnt very good. It's kind of crackly and skips a bit.
Should the sound be better or is that just what you get using IP phones/Asterisk?
(I ran the X-Lite phone).

Hum/bux on line
Rich Hi,
After Qwest pronounced my circuits as within spec. (yes, disconnected
from the house) I listened on the lines with my butt set. Clear of all
noise and hum. I then got my box of Cat3 and laid a circuit around the
outside of the house and into my lab. Still clear of all noise and hum.
I then connected the circuit to the Adtran and made a call. Lots of
hum and buzzz.

centos3.8 - outdated coreutils package
Hello,
I have a number centos3.8 installations. Recently I have figured out
that version of coreutils is :

while RedHat has released an bux fix errata to that package:

New Module app_perl
I just made my first 2 modules for asterisk (The 1st one is depriciated already).
I was annoyed that i couldn't get GotoIf to take any expressions besides a boolean
then i made a module to mimic gotoif and parse a few expressions like (${var} > 12)
exten => 1,1,gotoif_expr,${var} > 12:1|4:1|5

Rebuild of kernel 2.6.9-67.0.20.EL failure
Hello list.
I'm trying to rebuild the 2.6.9.67.0.20.EL kernel, but it fails even without
modifications.
How did I try it?
Created a (non-root) build environment (not a mock )
Installed the kernel.scr.rpm and did a
rpmbuild -ba --target=`uname -m` kernel-2.6.spec 2> prep-err.log | tee
prep-out.log
The build failed at the end:

X3 terran conflict sound
Hi,
installing X3 terran conflict via wine and steam worked like a charme ... only sound isn't working. Looking into the wine configuration, I do get only a a dull "boo-boop" if I test it. Any hints where I can find a way to get the sound working?
