detailed asterisk howto
Hi, all: I am a newbie to the asterisk and its architecture. :( After reading some help in the tarball of Asterisk, I am still in the mess. So I want to know where I can find a detailed explanation of the Asterisk which including the Architecture, Install, Configure, usage example document. Maybe what I want is too much, after all it is a open project, not commercial product. If I want to get

How do I configure asterisk, so once there is incoming call to the TDM channel from PSTN, the caller will hear another dial tone from asterisk then to key in the extension of intended destination (SIP phones number) that already

simple over view of the process
Hello All, Please forgive the lack of understanding as of yet but I have been trying to follow the mailing list messages over the last few days and would like to know if someone could wither point me into the right direction or possibly give me a brief overview of the complete process. Basically, I see that the Asterisk PBX systems can run on linux and seems to offer the engine base that is

Skills are in a 2nd table below; CREATE TABLE cvs( id INT not null AUTO_INCREMENT PRIMARY KEY, first_name VARCHAR(30) not null, family_name VARCHAR(30) not null, email

Same Extensions in Multiple contexts
Hi For a customer, I am trying to setup 3 different companies on one asterisk box, and I need to assign extension 200 in three different companies. I was using different contexts, but was unable to get it to work. So, my basic question is - In Asterisk, Can we have same extension number in different contexts? For example: [Context_company_1] exten => 200,1,,,

TDM OnHook/OffHook
My TDM400P w/ 4 FXO cards seems to have trouble with onhook/offhook switching. It dials perfectly, but does not seem to be changing the onhook/offhook state appropriately. It changes sometimes, but it's not really reliable. For example: When I booted the machine, it started as onhook. It remained "onhook" through the entire first call (which was silent on both ends --

ONLamp.com has finally published part 2 of my Rails article! You can find it here: http://www.onlamp.com/pub/a/onlamp/2005/03/03/rails.html It would be really nice if we could get this slash dotted again before the weekend. >From what I understand, you''re more likely to get accepted when multiple people submit something. Macro arguments seperator
Hi! I am in the process of upgrading our 1.2 servers to 1.6. We have a lot of realtime extensions with app=Macro and appdata=stdexten|080512|SIP/080512 But this does not work in 1.6. It is expecting , and not | as the argument seperator. If I change the | to , then it does not work in 1.2. Is there any backwards compatible switch you can enable in 1.6, so it accepts | as a argument seperator

ActiveRecord::Associations ER diagram/macros
Hello, I found an interesting ER diagram on the "Module: ActiveRecord::Associations::ClassMethods" page of the Rails Framework Documentation : http://ar.rubyonrails.org/classes/ActiveRecord/Associations/ClassMethods.html At the beginning we can read ? Associations are a set of macro-like class methods for tying objects together through foreign keys. They express relationships like

I have installed Ruby on Rails and the latest version of MySQL in my Windows XP machine and I am following a demo from ONLamp.com <http://www.onlamp.com/pub/a/onlamp/2005/01/20/rails.html?page=3>.
