Cisco 7940/7960 and voicemailmain not able to press keys after a hold.
I have noticed a problem with the Cisco 7940/7960 phones where if you put your voice-mail box on hold using soft keys and come back you can no longer navigate. I am curious if anyone else can duplicate this problem. Happens reliably for me with the 7940 phones. I use rfc2833 for DTMF. I would think it was a Cisco bug, but for the fact that this did not happen with older version of

Cisco 7960 on Asterisk?
Hello, I am just building my first Asterisk server. Looking for a couple of good quality ip phones. I like the Cisco 7960, are they easy to configure to work with Asterisk? What are the alternatives, with a good speaker phone, and simple clean and stylish look like the Cisco? I appreciate your advice. Kind regards Michael Felder IT Medic Australia Pty. Ltd. Does anyone know how to use the DND feature oc Cisco 7940/7960
Hi all, I have looked at cisco docs and it says DND is set by pressing the services button and choosing DND. Does anyone know how to configure DND in the services.xml file. I've googled around and not found anything. When you enable it in SIPDefault.cnf it just allows you to use it once. Many thanks for all your amazing work. Daniel Niasoff

No new features - all bug fixes according to the release notes. I've already started using it. I thought those of you running the Cisco phones and the appropriate access who didn't yet know would like to

7960 Not Picking up new firmware.
G'Day All. So I got the TFTP server all set up -thanks to much help from this list- the 7960 found it and updated to SIP the first firmware P0S30200. What I am now trying to do is upgrate through all the versions, as recommended, to the latest version, P003-07-3-00. I thought this would be accomplished by simply changing the sole line in the OS79XX.TXT file to P0S30203 and reboot the phone.

cisco 7960 not registering after * restart
Hello, When I restart asterisk the cisco 7960/7940 phones (sip fw 7.5) fail to re-register themselves with asterisk, even though I put "timer_register_expires: 60" in SIPDefault.cnf Is there a way to have these phones register themselves every 60 seconds? Alternatively, can asterisk be made to "remember" its dynamic sip hosts' registration after a restart? Thanks,

Multiple DTMF digits on 7960
Hello all. We have an asterisk system set up, and we are seeing a lot of multiple DTMF digits being read by asterisk. In digging through the archives the only answer I have seen is to put in the statement relaxdtmf=yes in the zapata.conf file. Since we are not using any zapata devices, I have tried to put that statement in my sip.conf file to no avail. Any help would be appreciated as my end

Need help understanding SIP phones
Greetings i have been using asterisk with good success with soft phones and I need to purchase some Sip capable phones to test. How would/do vendor specific phones like cisco 7900's and 3Com VCX 3100 series phones work SIP to SIP if they download the protocol from the Vendor call centers? I want to build my own with Asterisk, and use different phones. They say they are RFC 2543

CIsco 7960 + asterisk: hepl needed
Dear All, I'm trying to configure my new phone Cisco 7960 to work with asterisk. I followed http://www.asteriskguru.com/tutorials/cisco_7960_ip_phone_configuration.html and I got into the point where I can see on the the display line indication showing "55 <phone icon with x>" so it looks like the phone is not registered. Cisco 7960 won't register
Hello all, I've got a Cisco 7960 running version 7.4 firmware (heard there were problems with 7.5) and I can't get it to register with Asterisk. I've stripped down my configs on the phone to a bare minimum, and posted them below. Basically, the Cisco phone sends absolutely no packets to the proxy when it gets booted. If I make an outgoing call I see traffic getting to Asterisk, but

Re: Problem converting a Cisco 7960 to SIP
Hello all, I've got myself into a bizzare situation that I can't seem to get myself out of... Was wondering if anyone had some advice that might get me 'over the hill' on this... Some background: PBX consists of an Asterisk box (running TrixBox), 4 Cisco 7960's, 2 Polycom IP500's, and now an additional Cisco 7960. The phones are all on a separate LAN. There is

Cisco 7960 + SIP
Hello all, I know this isn't strictly Asterisk, but I'm sure that there are more people here using the Cisco 7960 w/ SIP, so I thought I'd post here. I've just bought a Cisco 7960 phone to use with Asterisk. It came with the CallManager image on it. I've got the 4.4 SIP images (P0S3-04-4-00). If I put "P0S3-04-4-00" in the OS79XX.TXT file, the phone downloads this

Dial Delay
I've dug through the documentation, and I must have just glanced over this, but how do I set this system up so it executes the call when 4 digits have been entered. Currently it seems to be operating on a timeout system. Cisco 7940's Right now if I press the digits 6000 the phone waits like 8 seconds before going forward. (If I press dial it is immediate). Anybody? -C
