Asterisk, Hylafax and T38Modem - help!
Hi All,
I know that this may not strictly be an asterisk issue, but if anyone has
any ideas on this prob it would be appreciated.
I have a working asterisk setup using Suse 9.1, a BT ISDN BRI card
(Fritz?), sipura 3000 and a few cisco 7940's. I wanted to do add faxing
into the equation, so I thought I would try and setup the following:
PSTN->asterisk->hylafax->pc

app_rxfax vs (iaxmodem+hylafax)
can anybody help me to choose the most reliable fax solution for * .
after googling the net i found that there are at least two solutions
for this, app_rxfax+spandsp and iaxmodem+hylafax.
- what's the differences between these two?
- which one's better? why?
thanks

T.38 fax solution, opinions?
Hi,
I'm putting together a fax solution for my company that utilizes T.38. I
wanted to throw out my plan and get some feedback if anyone is doing
something similar or sees a blatant problem with it.
We're currently rolling out SPA-942 phones for the standard desk phone with
vanilla Asterisk 1.4.15 (just upgraded it today) on the back end. Most calls
for satellite offices are handled by

Hello!
I'm still trying to get a working t.38 configuration w/ pjsip.
I'm now able to send t.38 faxes to my own extension:
hylafax -> t38modem -> extension -> extension -> t38modem -> hylafax.
The fax is sent by t38modem. The receiving part of t38modem accepts the
call, sends ReInvite for t.38 and things are working as expected.
Now, let's do the nearly same

T.38 on a MAX/Lucent/Ascend TNT
Hello folks,
I've been trying to get T.38 over SIP working with calls terminated by a
MAX/Lucent/Ascent TNT. As far as I can tell, SIP and T.38 are actually
working perfectly; however, I can't get the TNT to properly terminate a
FAX call. Does anyone have a working configuration for SIP and T.38 for
calls from a TNT or APX?
Here's a brief description/diagram of my test setup:

t38modem
Is it possible to use openh323's t38modem with asterisk and spanddsp?
or would hylafax have to be thrown into the mix? If it is possilble
how would I go about getting astersik to see it?

request for clarification on Asterisk T.38 bounty
The bounty stands at $5,500. I'm seriously considering taking a shot
at it if I can find a decent T.38 provider to test with (I'm still
hoping for reliable PAYG T.38).
It looks like a lot of very smart people have done a lot of very hard
work (t38modem, spandsp) that would go towards getting this working.
At this point it appears to be mostly a matter of integration

* and Fax
Hi,
I think this is one area that needs to be developed. I am curently
implementing a system for my home so cannot really justify the cost of
financially supporting the development of this when all I really need to
do is buy a telephone extension lead for my existing fax modem!!!
I am more than willing to devote some testing/documentation time (I am not
really a programmer) if that helps.

Asterisk, Hylafax and t38modem working together ?
Hi,
I've read this thread in this list history
http://article.gmane.org/gmane.comp.telephony.pbx.asterisk.user/261151/match=t38modem
http://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&aid=3337581&group_id=152230&atid=783657
Has anyone been successful when integrating latest version of Asterisk (10
or 1.8, for instance) with t38modem ?
My target setup is:

spandsp as T.38 termination?
It seems that Spandsp has everything in it (when you include rxfax and
txfax) to be a T.38 termination when used with Asterisk 1.4?
And if so, what version of Spandsp?
What version of IAXModem (so I don't have to also deal with T38Modem)?

amd64 issue with flac-1.1.3 beta2
Hi Josh,
I got a new computer yesterday, a 64bit intel core 2 duo. I am running
the amd64 port of Ubuntu 6.10 (edgy). I compiled flac-1.1.3 beta and had
trouble encoding:

IAXModem or T38Modem?
Hi all,
I'm installing Hylafax on my Asterisk system. From what I've read, I can
either use IAXModem or T38Modem to provide the virtual fax device. So at
the risk of starting a religious war, which one should I use?
I don't mind running IAX if I have to. I want as much flexibility and
stability as I can get.
So, what are your recommendations?
Mike.

Asterisk does the T.38 negotiation and produces the answer SDP, PJSIP

menu.c32 - Just loads the menu.c32 over and over.
Hi,
I am trying to use the Simple Menu system for SYSLINUX/ISOLINUX, but it fails to work.
The menu apper, I can select menu entries, but pressing "ENTER" just takes me back to start. It seem like menu.c32 just reloads.
Pressing Space does almost the same, exept the selected item is the one on the bottom instead of the top.
By pressing ESC and getting back to command line, I am able
