TDM box Hardware
Hello all,
Recently I bought a TDM02B digium card to conect to the PSTN.
We pluged it on a Pentium IV 2,8 Ghz, Asus Motherboard, but when we try
to start asterisk, the box hangs.
Someone have the same card running with asterisk in a similar machine?
Could you tell me your box hardware details?
Thanks for your time,
Ismael Gil.

Cdr_mysql compile question
I'm reading voip-info.org
http://www.voip-info.org/wiki-Asterisk+cdr+mysql
Sorry if this is a dumb question, but:
It says I need mysql and mysql-devel to compile cdr_mysql, but I don't want
mysql on my asterisk box I want to connect to a remote mysql server. Can I
use mysqlclient and mysqlclient-devel?
Thanks,

Hi,
I have installed asterisk on Ubuntu 6.06 server CD
All required packages has been installed and upgraded
When start "sudo make menuselect" from addons, I can't select all addons
that require mysqlclient (app_addon_sql_mysql, cdr_addon_mysql,

every table must have an id
Hello,
Not sure if this is implied in the documentation or something given:
does the RoR framework require "every table must have an id" ? If this
is the case, then what happened to the concept of normalization ?
Futher, if the tables have already been build for an existing
appication ( without ID column in everytable ) , will the script /
generate work ?
Thanks

Reading from serial port
Hello,
I've got RFID card reader plugged in serial port.
cat /dev/ttyS0 ...gives me ID of the card I'm using => that's OK
As soon as I open the port with win32 appication via wine... I get no data from reader. Even cat /dev/ttyS0 does not work anymore afterwards.
I thinks it's because as soon as application opens it via wine some tty flags change:

R killed on Solaris
Hello,
I am running a preliminary data-processing job on solaris. Basically,
the program reads a large number of ascii-lines (about 1M) by blocks
(size 25000 lines), selects suitable observations (around 5000) and
writes the results into a dataframe for latter processing.
The problem is that when I run the job interactively (in emacs/ESS),
everything works fine. If I try to run it from shell

Mixing audio
I have received your answer regarding the intention of developing audio mix algorithm based on Speex (a while ago...).
You've mentioned two different scenarios.
VOIP applications that can manage with high bit-rates can truly mix the audio just once at
the receiving client. Today most sound cards can mix the decoded streams automatically (no need for mix software).
The real problem is

Compiling asterisk-addons-1.6.0 under Debian 2.6.18?
Is there some magic to compiling asterisk-addons-1.6.0 under Debian 2.6.18
and mysql 5.0? I am unable to get configure to recognize the existance of
mysqlclient. Imparticular, when it gets to:
checking for mysql_init in -lmysqlclient... it returns "no".
For the past several releases, I've had to hack or otherwise coerce this
to work, but this time, no amount of fiddling with

Compiling with SQL support
Hello all,
I am currently having a slight problem (ok well more likely me just not
doing it right), with compiling Dovecot with MySQL support. The version
is 1.0.8. I have tried running configure with --with-sql and
--with-sql-drivers, but this however still does not compile MySQL
support, I do no wish to install MySQL on this server, as I am using a
network SQL server, but I do have the

What to install/configure?
Hi railers,
(railers? Rails-ers? How do you folks refer to yourselves?)
I''m brand spankin'' new to most of this. I''m just learning ruby, just
learning rails, just learning MySQL, and really just learning about
Apache/CGI-type stuff. I have a long background with UNIX sysadmin and
scripting (lots and lots of Perl and Bash), so the ruby is coming fast
