Changing booted Kernel with grub
Hi,
I have updated the kernel to 2.4.21-27.0.2 on Centos 3.4 (was 3.3 when
I did the kernel update) and have modified grub.conf to use the single
CPU kernel:
# grub.conf generated by anaconda
#
# Note that you do not have to rerun grub after making changes to this file
# NOTICE: You have a /boot partition. This means that
# all kernel and initrd paths are relative to /boot/, eg.

logistic regression and dummy variable coding
Hello everyone,
I have a variable with several categories and I want to convert this
into dummy variables and do logistic regression on it. I used
model.matrix to create dummy variables but it always picked the
smallest one as the reference. For example,
model.matrix(~.,data=as.data.frame(letters[1:5]))
will code 'a' as '0 0 0 0'. But I want to code another category as

Error in contrasts message when using logistic regression code.
I have a rather large data set (about 30 predictor variables)
I need to preform a logistic regression on this data. My response variable
is binary.
My code looks like this:
mylogit <- glm(Enrolled ~ A + B + C + ... + EE, data = data, family =
binomial(link="logit"))
with A,B,C, ... as my predictor variables. Some categorical, some
continuous, some binary.
I run the code and get

How to create an OpenVZ OS Template for CentOS 7 Public QA
Greetings,
First start of by working on a physical system, virtual machine, or container that matches the OS Template you are wanting to build. I used my CentOS 7 Public QA OS OpenVZ container to build it.
You must of course have a working yum. Once we are beyond Public QA and there is stuff in /etc/yum.repos.d/ this won't be a problem. One thing to note is that the --enablerepo= must

4.4 kickstart issues
Greetings all,
I'm trying to create a CentOS 4.4 kickstart CD (not a network install),
duplicating what
I've done for Fedora Core 3.
I am having a cirular dependency for initscripts, which causes
initscripts not to be installed
(no /etc/inittab when the boot gets to INIT)
The cascade is:
initscripts-7.39.25.EL-1.centos4 requires /sbin/nash
/sbin/nash is in mkinitrd-4.2.1.8-1

CentOS 3.4 - i386 - errata - initscripts
There is an update to initscripts for CentOS 3.4.
The version packaged in the 3.4 isos missed the patch to remove the 10
