Can I enter an extension to dial while voicemail is playing?
I have a very, very simple Asterisk setup in my house. I have a Sipura 3000 with a PSTN line connected and one analog phone connected. The [incoming] context looks like this: exten => s,1,Dial(SIP/50,23,r) exten => s,2,VoiceMail(u50@default) exten => s,3,Playback(vm-goodbye) exten => s,4,Hangup As you can see, when somebody calls in if I don't answer in 23 seconds then they are

Dial plan suggestions
Hello all, I've been asked to look into my home dial plan to see if I can improve it by an important customer (my wife). What we would like to have happen is that an inbound call rings all the phones (This is done). Once one phone picks up, of course all the others stop ringing (Also done). Here's the gotcha. She doesnt like having to "transfer" calls to another phone;

"Please Press Any Key to Accept a Call"
Hi, I'd like to add a feature to my asterisk system that tries to find a user among a couple of locations, and then goes to internal voicemail if the user doesn't pick up. (e,g, an internal extension and a cell phone). The catch is that I want the user to manually accept the call to prevent it from going (for example) to the voice mail on my cell phone. Scenario * Call comes in,

No ringing when I dial an extension
Hi All... When I dial into my Asterisk box and then dial an extension, I here silence until the person picks up or until the call goes to voice mail. At one point I had Asterisk configured to play music during this time by adding the m to the extension, but music on hold does not work for me (I think mpg123 does not work on my box) so I turned off music on hold and removed the m. Now I just

Dialplan to Pick up calls that are ringing onother extensions?
Well I dont want it to operate as a group. I understand that it is *8 on most PBX systems but I would like it to work as dialing *8+extension-thats-ringing to have it go over to my extension. I am having a lot of trouble finding more information from the wiki and google. Thanks! -James -----Original Message----- From: asterisk-users-bounces@lists.digium.com

Migrating from key system to asterisk
I currently have 4 lines coming into the house. We currently have an Avaya standard analog key system which has served us well, but running extensions is a major pain and requires a dedicated run per extension. I have ethernet run throughout the house though. The first two lines are "home" lines, however line1 I use for my consulting during the day, and line2 is used by my wife for

remotely picked-up extension keeps ringing
Hello, As of today's cvs * snapshot I am able to pickup a ringing (sip) cisco 7960 with *8 but the extension then keeps ringing indefinitely, even though I picked up the call. Is this a known issue? Thanks, -- There are no Debian developers in any part of Hell, because the good karma incurred by being one takes you straight to the pearly gates. Of course, the frequent flame wars you put

picking up a ringing extension
Hello, We are using asterisk 0.4.0 on debian sid with Cisco 7960 and ATA186 phones. All sip entries have: callgroup=1 pickupgroup=1 However I am unable to remotely pickup a ringing phone using *8#. I get fast busy tone. Is there some flag to add in extensions.conf ? Thanks in advance,

Unable to create ZAP channel - All circuits are busy
Hello, I have *@Home 1.5 installed and all is working fine for incoming calls and sometimes outgoing calls. Installed in the box is a digium TDM04B (4xFXO Ports) setup as ZAP1 to ZAP4. I have incoming calls coming in on lines 1-4 in that order and outgoing calls prefering ZAP4 then ZAP3 then ZAP2. When i try to dial out to the PSTN from a SIP phone it sometimes works (normally after a reboot)

Calls keep ringing after being picked up
Hi all, using * 1.2.9.1 and this week all of the sudden calls keep ringing even after they've been picked up... Here's one users summary: When I pick up the phone, I hear a dial tone and I am able to dial out. But for some odd reason, the receiving line picks up while the outgoing line is still ringing. And the receiving line can hear everything while the phone is still ringing. I tested

Re: Can I enter an extension to dial whilevoicemail is playing?
The options are not seperated by commas. exten => s,1,Dial(SIP/50,23,r,d) should be exten => s,1,Dial(SIP/50,23,rd) -----Original Message----- From: asterisk-users-bounces@lists.digium.com [mailto:asterisk-users-bounces@lists.digium.com]On Behalf Of John Klimek Sent: Thursday, June 22, 2006 2:59 PM To: Asterisk Users Mailing List - Non-Commercial Discussion Subject: Re: [Asterisk-Users]

extension and PSTN connection
I got two phones on an ATA-186 (601, 602) and two phones on the TDM22B (603, 604). I have two lines on the TDM22B. I cannot figure out some of the problems: 1. 601 dials via ZAP/3-1 to local phone number at PSTN: ringing pickup on PSTN (empty) still ringing in the phone set 601 2. call from PSTN back: 601 picks up ... everything works !!! No caller id shows up 3. For testing I have only one

Extension continues ringing after caller hanged up
Hi, I use asterisk with sip3000 device with "sip-aho" connected to PSTN and "sip-ahi" connected to a phone. When call arrives from PSTN, the *phone continues ringing even after caller hanged up*. The dialplan contains the following lines: [from-pstn] ... exten => 99,n,Dial(SIP/sip-ahi,30,g) exten => 99,n,Hangup() The asterisk properly detects hangup of the caller as I

Extension ringing but no ringing sound.
Greetings, This is probably some configuration issue, but for some reason my system has stopped playing a ringing sound when an extension is dialed. The phone rings but there is no ring sound in the ear piece. Gene Kochanowsky

create distinctive ring on FXS
Hi, I use Asterisk at home to filter the annoying people before they get a real voice. So basically if you don't know the extension of one of the occupants you have no choice but leave a message. Works well... perhaps I miss some improtant calls, but if you leave no message it must not be important! Anyhow, I would like to be able to make the phone ring distinctively depending on who the

Looking for better "Follow Me"
Hi everybody :) I am a new member here and hope that someone gives me a hint for my problem: Let's say I am at work and my SIP phone (KPhone in my case) is connected to my private Asterisk. I want to call my wife at home so her SIP phone rings. She does not pick up the phone (maybe she is somewhere in the house and has to run to the phone) so after 15 seconds her cell phone should ring.

Alert extensions without answering incoming call?
Hi, * gurus, I wonder if there is a way to alert the in-house extension(s) in case of an incoming external call without actually answering it, before somebody picks up the phone on one of the extensions? This way the caller wouldn't have to pay for the call until somebody answers. Regards, Christian Lademann

Newbie would like some planning advice.
My wife and daughter, and to lesser extent myself and my daughters boyfriend would like a communications system which allowed us to talk to each other, both on a one on one basis, but also occassionally in conference. My wife and I live in a house with an internal LAN with each of us with a desktop machine (hers in Windows XP, mine runs Linux) and a Linux server acting as firewall and NAT

Attach to SAMBA share without logging in to Win98?
Is it possible to set things up in SAMBA so that a Win98 box that hasn't been logged into can access a share? I have a small home network that is shielded from the Internet and would like to have a public directory that can easily be accessed for my wife and daughter. Thanks, Craig
