Hi, I've got a (maybe stupid) question: I'd like to install Asterisk on my notebook (just to play around with it). Is my internal phone modem equivalent to an FXO port? Hence, could I make phonecalls to my pots-line with it? thanks philipp

Hello, I'm trying to get my Eicon Diva 2.01 PCI ISDN card working with Asterisk and was told that I still have some chance if I tried using chan_capi. I tried compiling it (chan_capi) on two systems running 2.6 kernels, but got lots of errors. Before I go investigating - is it possible to compile chan_capi on 2.6 kernels? Or does it work with 2.4 ones only? Tomek

I'd dearly love to be able to give an Asterisk demo by just toting my notebook, a PC/PCMCIA card, and a couple SIP phones. Is there any way to do this? Or should I look for a small-profile box with PCI slots, instead?

I just installed CentOS v.2.1 on my laptop, and am not familiar with and wondered if CentOS has a pc card config gui. I have DSL and a dhcp router and modem setup. I can't find a card setup for my wired eth0 card in CentOS. And, I'm command line deprived. Everything seems to work except the pc cards. Both the wired and wireless are Linksys. Help. How do I catch a closing event for a Notebook page. I have added a number of pages (class Panel) to a Notebook and I can remove them via the default close button on the pane. Using 'linux askmethod' to be able to install off of my FTP server (have done 4 PC installs so far off that server successfully) It's video card is: S3 86C270-294 Savage IX/MV After recognizing the video card I get the message about no graphical install available.

Hi, I created a modification (more like a hack) to shorewall that backups a configuration after succesfully (re)starting it. In case a future (re)start fails it will use this backup configuration. (instead of stopping the firewall and generating a massive ammount phonecalls ;) I didn''t pay too much attention to the ramifications of this patch, so let me know if i screwed anything up.
