Windows 2000 Scheduler Permission Problem
Hello, I'm struggling with a Samba 3.07 installation on a Debian Sarge system. This system is used as a backup server and a scheduler job on a windows 2000 server should backup some data on that system. The integration of samba and the Windows 2000 domain works fine, as long as we interactivly access the samba box from the windows server. In this case the user is recognized

try()-function does not catch error in BATCH-job if Matrix is loaded
Hello, In my simulation I use the try()-function to catch possible errors when fitting models. I run the simulationon a Linux-server using the command " R CMD BATCH nameOfFile.R &". When executing the code as batch-job I get the problem that the execution is halted without giving an error message. But when I run the code interactivly the error is catched by try() as it would

Webcam streaming with ptalarbvorm
Hey all! I'm sure you've all been missing my webcam stream, so I decided to start it up again (also, I wanted to do it for my family overseas). However, this time, I'm doing things a little bit differently. For starters, the encoder is the current (as of about an hour ago) ptalarbvorm branch which is destined to become libtheora 1.2. Another difference is that I'm using

how to set default audio track?
Typically video players will play back the last audio track in a Ogg Theora file, because it is the last one that they see. There is no way to specify which is the "default" audio track and it would not make sense anyway. If you are a German speaker, your "default" would be the German audio track - if you are a native English speaker, it would be the English audio track. So,

how to define method for "+" function in a new class
Dear R developers, I have a new class, which I called "Molecule", and have tried to define = a "+" operation for 2 objects of this class. This is what I have written so far, although the method is not complete = (I'm trying to look at it at intermediate stages): setMethod( f=3D"+", signature(x=3D"Molecule",y=3D"Molecule"),

How to convert .Rdata file into .csv or something else?
Dear mailing list members, I am a beginner of this community. I would like to analyze data in a .rdata file. I ran the following code, but the object "d" remained empty. d <- load("~/docdis/input/ch2/WV6_Data_R_v_2016_01_01.rdata") I would like to know how to convert this file format into .csv or .txt. I suppose this question is very basic, but I could not find solutions

[PATCH] smallft.c
Hi, I'm re-posting this; the first post was filtered because I wasn't a member of the mailing list... I have a small diff for Vorbis which replaces some loops with memcpy. This allows us to take advantage of memcpy's optimisations when copying the floating point data. Does this look OK? - Michael Index: smallft.c ===================================================================

Dear R community, I need to plot the results of some simulations I did using QTL Cartographer. I am plotting LOD scores over three chromosomes. The three plot have to be one next to the other. The procedure I am using is: par(mfrow=c(1,3)) plot(x$x, x$y, ylim=c(0,35), type="l", col="blue", las=1, xaxs="i", yaxs="i", xlab="X Chromosome",

Problem with Weighted Variance in Hmisc
The function wtd.var(x,w) in Hmisc calculates the weighted variance of x where w are the weights. It appears to me that wtd.var(x,w) = var(x) if all of the weights are equal, but this does not appear to be the case. Can someone point out to me where I am going wrong here? Thanks. 5.1 surround channel coupling
It obviously would be nice to have such a mode available, for e.g. DVD audio compression. Apparently, the list doesn''t tell me too much about it. My questions are: 1. What is the current status of the 5.1 channel coupling in Vorbis? 2. If I''ll be interested in participation in its development, what is the recommended reading? -------------- next part -------------- An HTML

theora optimizations
Hi everyone, I wanted to throw out some data points on some of the theora optimization efforts. There are a few different efforts going on and it would be nice to unify all of those into something that can live in the main branch and be kept uptodate, while making it easy for people that want to contribute specific optimisations (we have one eager new powerbook owner ready to give the ppc ones a

RE: error (fwd)
Hi folks, I've got this funny problem with R's foreign library when reading stata files. One file consistently produces vector out of memory errors after gobbling up 2.7G of memory. I parsed through the read.dta function and figured out where the error occurs and the description is below. I am running R-1.8.1 on Debian stable system glibc2.2 kernel 2.4.24.
