[PATCH 04/11] x86: cleanup mpparse.c
Remove unused and pointless bits from mpparse.c (and other files where they are related to it). Of what remains, move whatever possible into .init.*, and some data items into .data.read_mostly. Cant compile Zaptel at all
I have been trying to compile Zaptel 1.0-RC1 that I just downloaded via tarball on my debian 3.0 system running a 2.4.26 kernel. I have all the headers, libraries and sources installed for the kernel along with the latest versions of GCC. I dont know what else to do to trouble shoot this so I have included the entire output below. Thanks a lot! -James Freire linux1:/usr/src/zaptel-1.0-RC1#

mach_mpspec.h, mach_apicdef.h & xenbus_mkdir
Hello list, I''m trying to build a linux kernel module that uses xenstore to report on the modules loaded into a DomU''s kernel. When building against the current unstable (changeset 15080:089696e0c603) I''m getting build errors about not being able to find mach_mpspec.h and mach_apicdef.h make -C /root/xen-unstable.hg/linux-2.6.18-xen O=/root/xen-

Get error msg if try to use kernel makefile / build kernel
Using the new method for building a standalone kernel module (although seems to happen with the traditional way as well) I get "mach_mpspec.h: No such file or directory" Same result if I try to do a kernel 'make'. Subsequently I get MAX_MP_BUSSES and MAX_IRQ_SOURCES undeclared. This should surely work 'out of the box' with Centos ? Any ideas about what's missing ?

Unable to Compile a LAN Card Driver on Centos4.4

refactoring io_apic.c
OK, I need to do something like this to io_apic.c - split the hardware specific parts out under mach-default, so we can override them for other subarchitectures. It's not finished, needs header file and makefile work. Would you be willing to take this if I do it? I'm not going to bother if you're not, such refactorings are a pig to maintain out of tree. Frankly, io_apic.c needs a

syslinux build fails with 2.6 linux headers
As the subject says, building syslinux fails when built against 2.6.8.1 kernel headers. Anybody out there have a patch? The compile errors are below. set -e ; for i in memdisk dos win32 mtools unix extlinux sample com32 ; do make DATE=0x41e470ae HEXDATE=0x41e470ae -C $i all ; done make[1]: Entering directory `/usr/src/syslinux-3.07-pre1/memdisk' make[1]: Nothing to be done for `all'.

zaprtc on Debian Sarge 2.4.27
Hi there, since I found a couple of reports with complaints concerning zaprtc I thought that one or the other user might be glad to know that it works indeed. All that was necessary was to copy all *.h files from /zaptel into /zaptelrtc and then do "make" followed by "make load". Of course you'll need to make sure to not have rtc compiled into your kernel, or loaded

HFC-S BRI Slack9.1 kernel 2.6.6 "Guide" bri-stuff.0.0.2
Hi ""noobs"" and others(like me). I've been struggling for hours,days,days,days.... to get my Asterisk work with 2x HFC-S BRI cards. One card for use in NT-mode for connecting my ISDN DECT phone, and one card as gateway to PSTN. Now it'works, and I just want to share some of the experience with others. I'd guess there must be 'Somebody Out There' having

I am still stuck, anyone got any ideas ? Hi, Having no digium hardware in my box and two cpus and a ohci usb bus im forced to use zaprtc. Zaprtc compile error - virtual device for conferencing
Hi, I don't have a zaptel device for conferencing. I read from the lists, that ztdummy and zaprtc need to be installed to get conferencing. I could able to compile successfully with ztdummy and when i receive the call it says, -- Goto (13732,s,1) -- Executing MeetMe("SIP/-08118800", "1234") in new stack == Parsing

Zaprtc seems unsupported, Asterisk in productionenvironment without Digium cards
I'm having a similar issue to this in that the USB ports on the system are ohci based, not uhci, therefore ztdummy will not work. My system is also running the SMP kernel so zaprtc will not work. To me it looks like the only good solution is a hardware timer, even if it's as simple as an x100p card. Kelly PS. If you read Jon's message again, the answer given is not acceptable for

zaprtc from bristuff? not there?
I'm trying to take advice to use "zaprtc from bristuff" (from both a posting here and references on voip-info) because I have a 2.4 kernel SMP machine. I've downloaded and installed bristuff-0.2.0-RC3a and now have the modules zaphfc and zaptel loaded. Running meetme says the extension is invalid (I've double checked meetme.conf and extensions.conf). There is no zaprtc

Timing source on SMP system - Disable RTC for zaprtc
Does anyone know where to disable rtc support on redhat 9.0 using make menuconfig? I thought I disabled it but still got the following error when trying to make zaprtc: zaprtc.c:109: storage size of `rtc_irq_timer' isn't known zaprtc.c:719: storage size of `rtc_fops' isn't known zaprtc.c:107: warning: `DECLARE_WAIT_QUEUE_HEAD' declared `static' but never defined make: ***

zaprtc on 2.6
Hullo. Having found http://bugs.digium.com/bug_view_page.php?bug_id=0000875 I grabbed the original 0.0.1 and Dan's patch, and whilst it didn't apply, I was able to patch the zaprtc.c manually - the Makefile has changed a lot, and I wasn't able to understand the changes. (this is all on a machine that's never had any * on it before, and has a 2.6.5 kernel with a matching

Zaprtc seems unsupported, Asterisk in production environment without Digium cards
I feel there is some unclarity about the need for a timer in Asterisk. As Asterisk moves into production environments, this needs to be sorted out. I'm setting up an Asterisk in a production environment with no Digium cards at all. It is planned to be used as a clean SIP hosted PABX, where we connect to the PSTN via gateways with proper echo cancellation. There is no USB driver on the card.
