Print-to-Fax client
Hi, Does anyone know of a Print-to-Fax client that works with asterisk & spandsp? Astfax is a partial solution but that only lets us email the fax in, we'ld like to set it up so the user can hit the print button and send the fax (even if all it does is email - transparently to the user - the fax to astfax). -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...

Playing GSM files in Windows
For the archives... In trying to play GSM files in Windows (Windows XP for me, but in general) I found no help on Google, so when I figured it out I thought I would post it here. Q: How do I play GSM Files in Windows? A: Use Quicktime, it supports the GSM audio format directly. Andy Farnsworth farnsaw@stonedoor.com

On the "broken" .WAV files issue
A friend of mine recently had a problem with a "broken" .WAV file (as you call them) because oggenc first printed out a warning and then didn't accept the file because of a "unexpected EOF error". Because I was interested in the issue, I decided to take a look at the oggenc source, and in fact, it is your .WAV reader that's wrong. More precisely: there are two version

need help using read.fortran
Hello kind and R-knowledgeable souls! I am trying to use read.fortran to read in old datasets in 80-column-card format with no separators between variables (just 80 columns of solid digits). I comprehend the instructions for specifying the columns for each variable, but I can't understand how to assign the variable names after reading the help pages for read.fortran, read.fwf and

append rows to Sybase datatable using RJDBC
Hi, Does anyone have experience using RJDBC library to write to Sybase datatable? The jdbc driver I am using is jConnect 6.0. I can successfully write into a new datatable, but have problem appending rows to existing one. It either complains "Table *** already exists" or simply overwrite the existing one. Here is the example. I am trying to append 'data' to the existing

one ZIL SLOG per zpool?
I have three zpools on a server and want to add a mirrored pair of ssd''s for the ZIL. Can the same pair of SSDs be used for the ZIL of all three zpools or is it one ZIL SLOG device per zpool? -- This message posted from opensolaris.org

Has anyone created a UAT environment to go with test, development and production?
Has anyone tried to add another environment. When developing I develop locally, deploy to a UAT environment for checking that my stuff fits into the organisations infrastucture and user testing and then deploy to production. test and production are fine. The main problem is that development (I currently hack the the database.yml and drop the test branch to loose some local development mocks

combine many .csv files into a single file/data frame
Dear R users, I have a few hundred .csv files which I need to put together (full outer joins on a common variable) to do a factor analysis. Each file may contain anywhere from a few hundred to a few thousand rows. What would be the most efficient way to do this in R? Please include some sample code if applicable. Thank you, b.

Can't play recording message wav file
Hi, I am working on setting up the voice mail. I can get message recored and can find the .wav file created. However, when I tried to play back, I can't hear anything. In the CLI, it does say: -- <SIP/2000-081ed640> Playing '/var/spool/asterisk/voicemail/default/2000/Old/msg0000' (language 'en') I am wondering if I did anything wrong in my setup that causes this

Recommended computer resources to build llvm
I've got a i7 with 12 logical cores and 16GB of RAM I successfully built RELEASE_390/final but for the last 100 or so files I'd to use "ninja -j2" so as not to keep from swapping in the best case and and in the worst case the build kills itself without completing because apparently its run out of memory. For the first 3200 files or so it was doing just fine with

swfdex-extract tool extracts mp3 files as wav files.
Hello. I'm running the swfdec-extract tool built from the 0.6.0 source tarball under gentoo and I'm finding that it's not able to rip the MP3s from the SWF file. I'm getting this: SWFDEC: ERROR: swfdec_codec_gst.c(269): swfdec_gst_decoder_init: failed to create decoder It manages to save the file as a WAV file, but I'd prefer the MP3 to get at the ID3 info in the file.

WAV header (hey Mike)
So, I saw a form of wav header I didn;t know about today. It's not in my (admittedly aging) copy of the RIFF spec from M$, but it's pretty clear how to handle it (mostly in the context of OggEnc). Here's a dump with od -c: 0000000 R I F F 370 357 l 002 W A V E f m t 0000020 020 \0 \0 \0 001 \0 002 \0 D 254 \0 \0 020 261 002 \0 0000040 004 \0

Benchmark LNT weird thread behaviour
Hi James/Chris, You guys have done this before, so I'm guessing you can help me understand what's going on. If my buildbot config is: jobs=2, nt_flags=['--cflag', '-mcpu=cortex-a15', '--use-perf', '--threads=1', '--build-threads=4'] It uses -j4 for build, -j2 for running the tests:

smartd and 3ware on centos5
Hi, I've CentOS5 box with 3ware RAID controller in it. I can't get the tw_cli command line tool to work, and smartd also barks on me. The tw_cli simply doesn't see the controller, no errors logged anywhere. When starting smartd, it is much more verbose. I'm getting a bunch of messages like this: Oct 9 22:15:15 toporko kernel: program smartd is using a deprecated SCSI ioctl,

Cent. Mov. Ave
Dear R People: Here is an interesting question(I think) Suppose I want to calculate Centered Moving Averages; i.e. x[1] <- ( sum(y[1:12]) )/12 x[2] <- ( sum(y[2:13]) )/12 and so on. Of course, this is easily done through loops. However, I have been trying to do this more elegantly, but have failed. I have tried things like j1 <- 1:109 j2 <- 12:120 x[1:109] <- ( sum( y[j1:j2])
