1.0.8 Release Candidate
Hello everyone! It has been a while since the 1.0.7 release, and I have fixed a lot of stuff since then. I think it's about time to make another release. I realize that there are still some outstanding issues, but it's nearly impossible to bring that down to zero. However, I'm open to discussion on anything that someone may feel is a "show-stopper". I am on IRC as

Behavior of first_or_create
I just ran across a weird glitch (IMHO) in find_or_create. The arguments passed to it are *not* added to the conditions for the ''first'' part. This is odd, given that it''s intended to replace find_or_create_by_* methods, which *did* use the specified values as conditions. I''m unsure on whether this behavior is entirely undesirable, but it''s definitely

delete rows
Hello. I came across your response in an R forum and could use your help. I have a data set with 472 rows. I want to delete rows 416 through 472. The name of my data set is MERGE. I am an extreme R novice. How do I write a script to accomplish this? Thank you. --- Christopher H. Porter, M.A., M.Ed. Rai and Van Ryzin Model
R-users, Has anyone implemented (coded) the Rai and Van Ryzin dose-response model from their 1985 Biometrics paper. I'm trying to avoid re-inventing the wheel. If not any hints on coding this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, -- ==================== Calvin L. Williams, Ph.D. ==================== Department of Mathematical Sciences, Clemson University

Optimized Likelihoods
R-Users, I'm in the process of developing some notes on optimizing likelihoods for a class I'm teaching next term. Can anyone offer examples showing the optimization of a complex likelihood function that they wouldn't mind sharing using optim(). I've adapted some of the S-plus likelihood examplesfrom the ``Guide to Statistics" and the Zip example from ``Statistical Models in

Proposition: 7.0 => 7 in library names
Hello, Context: I have been packaging the llvm toolchain for Debian & Ubuntu and also providing these packages on https://apt.llvm.org/. One of the goal is to have different versions co-installable. For that, I am renaming the binaries and libraries. Now, as we are not using the minor version (the Y in X.Y.Z), there isn't much point in calling our tools foo-7.0 as we won't create a

--detect-renamed for mac users : proposition of a modification
Hello, Object of my mail : 1/ stick a problem of incompatibylity between 2 patches (fileflags.diff & detect-renamed.diff) 2/ proposition of a correction I wanted to run rsync on a mac (OS X 10.6.5) with the --detect-renamed option. I therefore tried to compile rsync with the 3 relevant patches : - fileflags.diff - crtimes.diff - detect-renamed.diff But the patch detect-renamed.diff is

Boonex Dolphin PHP script is SCAM! Beware!
Boonex is a scam. I had to purchase their "Advanced" membership first to be able to contact anyone to ask questions or get help. Then after purchasing a license for $39 I posted on their forums and was dog piled by their staff and premium members who have been around so long they forgot how to be polite. I never got the software working because most hosts have restrictions for the .EXE

Patch proposition to implement a new workaround: tb-lsub-flags
Hi again Timo, As agreed earlier tonight, you'll find as attachments 4 diffs (diff -u) implementing the new workaround "tb-lsub-flags". The 4 impacted files are: ./src/imap/imap-settings.h ./src/imap/imap-settings.c ./src/imap/cmd-list.c ./src/config/all-settings.c Here is the proposed description for the dovecot.conf file: # tb-lsub-flags: # Usually IMAP servers don't

Proposition for 6.1 and 7.1 Channel Mappings
Vorbis Community, Seeing as how DTS-HD and Dolby TrueHD decoders are becoming more accessible, I believe now may be a good time to standardize channel mappings for 6.1 and 7.1 audio. MPlayer currently implements 7.1 audio for Vorbis like so: FL FR RL RR FC LFE SL SR. Thank you, William Swartzendruber -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL:

Surely a contribution to the discussion by the Faust people would be welcome; and even more than to the discussion :->.
