in CentOS 3.4, mod_auth_ldap ?
I'm coming from FC3 and moving to CentOS 3.4. I have been using
mod_auth_ldap for some time now with Apache 2.x and authenticating to
my Microsoft ADS without problems, here's my article on how that
worked:
http://www.turnpike420.net/linux/Apache_ADS_AuthLDAP.txt
However, I have come to find out that CentOS 3.4 only comes with
mod_authz_ldap and when I did some reading on it,

Problems with mod_auth_ldap module
Just wondering if anyone's using the apache mod_auth_ldap module with
require directives other than "valid-user"?
Reason for asking is that no matter what require statement (except
valid-user) I try to use, apache logs "unknown require directive".
According to the ldap logs it does lookup, and find, the user in question.
Any thoughts? Config error or bug?

httpd LDAP auth module
Hi,
I am looking at LDAP module for Apache httpd for authentication. The
'yum install' gives me 'mod_authz_ldap.i386 0:0.26-9.el5_5.1', whereas
on Apache documentation site I find mod_authNz_ldap module. Both
modules appear to be different looking at available directives. Any
clues or suggestions on which module should be used? Where can I find
documentation for mod_authz_ldap?

Oplock problem in 2.0.7 locks up Samba completely
first of all: thank you all for you excellent work on Samba.
However, I dare to complain about a problem with oplocks that of-
ten plagues the server here. The server is used for just about
everything, Samba is used for file and print services but also as
a gateway to a Pervasive SQL database (via a named pipe).
Usually after a few days of perfect function (just over two weeks

pam_ldap and nss_ldap failover
I'm (finally) getting around to putting a backup LDAP authentication
server on my network. The backup uses syncrepl to grab the database,
and to my eyes both LDAP servers answer read queries identically.
I'm testing the client side of this configuration on virtual CentOS 5
i386 machine. /etc/ldap.conf reads

Dependency problems with Yum update
I am spoiled with Yum: never have had a dependency problem until today.
Can this be resolved:

---> Package compat-openldap.i386 0:2.3.27_2.2.29-4.el4.centos set to be

considering dovecot
Hi all.
I'm making a case to use Dovecot over Courier and would like some
feedback. I've searched the web extensively and have been unable to
find any hard information regarding Dovecot's IMAP performance. I've
got some pressure to use Courier but my gut tells me that Dovecot
should be much faster. In particular, I will have typical users with
mailboxes exceeding 10,000

Kickstart from floppy falling into regular install
I took my anaconda-ks.cfg file, cp to ks.cfg and copied to a floppy
The isos have been copied to an ftp server. So I had the following
lines in my ks.cfg

This is along with all the appropriate network command to get the

Strange behavior with samba mountpoint
I have a Redhat 8.0 box with many external connections.
Several nfs and 3 samba.
Today I tried to reattach to one on my mounts and I am geting
"Could not resolve mount point /mnt/dir".
If I do an ls -a I can see the dir, but when adding the l option to ls
it does not show up.
fuser returns for the dir,
Input/output error
I apologize if this has nothing to do with Samba, but I am
