building initrd.img with updated drivers
Can someone point me to instructions on how to build a pxeboot/initrd.img with updated drivers. I would like to pxe boot and install rh8 on a newer machine, and the pxeboot files that come with rh8 (2.4.20-8) don't support my e1000 NIC. I believe that the newer 2.4.20-28.8 drivers will, but I'm having trouble finding instructions in rebuilding the pxeboot initrd.img + vmlinuz to

EL4 and spamassassin info
greetings, have been google foo for week or so. used to be super easy to upgrade spamassassin on CentOS dist. just grab the tarball and put in right spot and rpmbuild -tb spamassassin-3.somethingsomething.tar.gz then rpm or yum install and done would take just a few minutes. Yet... in regards to EL4 / CentOS 4 and spamassassin, it appears the end of the road for .spec in SA tarball

0.99.11 (CentOS4 or RHEL4) to 1.0.rc7 upgrade folder issue
[Sending this again from the email account that I actually have subscribed to the list - hopefully won't be a dup...] We have been running dovecot-0.99.11-2.EL4.rpm on CentOS4 (since that's the latest that ships with RHEL/CentOS) for a while. Aalso in parallel, we have been running various 1.0 betas and RCs on a different port for a different set of more test-tolerant users. This

Issues with stat() call on CentOS5 vs CentOS4
Dear CentOS, I have recently upgraded several servers from CentOS4 to CentOS5 and I am noticing a strange change to the stat() call. I have written a very small program to test and show the behavior. I am calling stat() against a file which is exported from my NAS and mounted with 32k read/write sizes. [dougalb at centos4 tmp]$ cat my_stat.c #include <unistd.h> #include <stdio.h>

easy way to stop old ssl's
Without context it's impossible to make firm statements but, having gone through this a while back (and discovering that less than 1 percent of an examined list of connections couldn't support current ssl - mainly Apple hardware), who do you want to protect? Is it the minority who won't/can't upgrade or the majority who have? And, do you have to protect yourself from liability

[LLVMdev] Problems compiling llvm-gcc4 frontend on x86_64
Hi Warren, You have the -m32 flag set, but it's still giving you this: > Warning: Generation of 64-bit code for a 32-bit processor requested. > Warning: 64-bit processors all have at least SSE2. But are you sure you want to compile the LLVM-GCC source? You should use the binaries unless absolutely necessary. -bw On May 24, 2007, at 10:34 PM, Warren Armstrong wrote: > Hi all,

I highly appreciate everyone's help in the caching name server bit. Building on that one: Everyone knows my issues that i am having in terms of reverse lookup so the windows clients won't freak. I have decided to switch focus..as it seemed to make sense. I am now looking to setup a full DNS server for my internal network. Everything is actually set statically via DHCP using MAC

[LLVMdev] Problems compiling llvm-gcc4 frontend on x86_64
Hi all, I've run into problems compiling the llvm-gcc frontend on x86_64. Is this not supported, or am I making an error somewhere? The procedure I followed was: 1. Download LLVM 2.0 source as a tarball (from a few days ago, during the testing phase). 2. Download the llvm-gcc4 source today, as a tarball. 3. Extract both. 4. Configure LLVM as: ../src/configure --prefix=`pwd`../install

Hi. There isn't a package httpd-2.0.52-41.ent.6.centos4 for centos4 in UPDATES repo. There is only a httpd-2.0.52-41.ent.6.centos4.src.rpm in SRC [http://mirror.centos.org/centos/4/updates/SRPMS/?C=M;O=D] This is probably a bug. Package httpd doesn't build ?
