xspline, graphical parameters and MAXNUMPTS
Hello, I am having two difficulties with xspline: 1) Passing lty=2 (via ...) appears to have no effect 2) Apparently depending on the current plot axes, I may or may not get the failure: add_point - reached MAXNUMPTS (25200) This happens both on Linux/R 2.8.0 (details below) and Windows Vista/R 2.8.0 patched (2008-10-21 r46766) Simplest case: plot(c(0,1),c(0,1))

Problem selecting installation drive : 5.2
When doing the 5.2 installation the ONLY drive option provided is mapper/nvidia_cbjcdhfe (250G) My system has 2 SATA - 250G drives and I want to use them in a RAID/LVM configuration. My question: How do I get the installer to let me use DiskDruid to create RAID1 arrays and then use LVM for the mount points? What I've done so far: I've verified that both drives are recognized by

Nothing against CentOS as a firewall, but you might consider a distro that is more focused as a plop'n drop "security applicance" distro: http://www.ipcop.org 4-zone segmentation (WAN, DMZ, LAN, WLAN) Integrated real-time and statistical logging, Snort IDS,

OT: Windows TAPI command-line driver
Hi, This is a bit off-topic, but still related to telephony. Is there a barebones TAPI driver that exists that would allow me to call up a command line with, as parameter, the number to dial. For exemple, Outlook integrates with TAPI, so that TAPI driver would allow me to call my own app with the phone number as argument. ex when clicking on 555-555-5555: the TAPI driver would call

Hardware Specs
Hello all! I was wondering if you can help me a little bit... My boss wants me to do some research in finding which hardware is most used under Linux(ex. Dell servers, Barebones Kits, HP & Compaq servers, etc.) This is just for budgeting issues...he wants to get rid of some old and obsolete hardware we run and wants to know which hardware could be easy to deploy on the server side and

LVM question
CentOS Community, It is to my understanding that the /boot partition should never be placed on LVM and should be a physical partition on the hard drives (or on top of a RAID array). Is this an accurate statement? Also please advise if the SWAP filesystem is safe to be placed under LVM, or if this should be a hard partition / hard limit as well. I am unsure if boot issues or any filesystem issues

Exact String Compare in R?
Dear R users: Here's a barebones example of what I can't make work. As you can see, regexpr() does not perform an exact string match, which only occurs in row 1 of these data frames. Instead, as it's supposed to do, it finds "b" in "bb" and "c" in "cc". Does anybody know what function I can use such that only the first rows would be matched (ie,

Tyan K8SRE troubles with CentOS 4.4 i386
We have been seeing failures with CentOS 4.4 i386 (not x86_64) running compute-intensive programs on Tyan K8SRE (S2891) Tymotherboards, running Opteron 265's. This motherboard is used in the Tyan barebones box GT24 (B2881). We have these boards populated with 8GB of RAM, consisting of mixed 2GB and 1GB sticks. The symptom is that CPU-bound programs (may or may not be related to floating

[LLVMdev] Using MCJIT in a dynamic REPL environment
The new MCJIT is module-oriented, like a classic compiler+linker (which it is) while the old JIT is function-oriented. If I understand correctly, the main problems with the old JIT were the duplication of the debug information code and EH code (both gone now). Moreover, if we ignore the lazy evaluation mechanism then the current JIT is actually quite simple module. Would it be possible to keep

[LLVMdev] Using MCJIT in a dynamic REPL environment
Sure, that makes a lot of sense. The implementation details may get tricky, of course, but the concept is great. -Jim On Oct 30, 2013, at 12:20 PM, Yaron Keren <yaron.keren at gmail.com> wrote: > Hi, > > I'm trying to transition from the JIT to MCJIT. Metasearch eager loading instead of lazy loading
Hey all, I have two models, in the first model Model1.search(nil) returns the metasearch builder as expected. for the the second model, the same search(nil) returns every object in the database (all 60k of them). This obviously isn''t what I want. I can''t seem to figure out what I did to the model to get it to behave this way, I have removed all of the code from the model

Network access speed.
Good afternoon all, I have a few questions, and just joined the list and plan on staying. I had 2 Samba servers at work, both running apache, etc, that we develop on from work and at home over a vpn. My vpn upload speed is 25K, and at one time windows 2000 could save a document in less than 4 seconds from across the vpn using textpad. We recently downgraded our crappy 7.1 redhat versions to 6.2

Install question
I have been running Fedora for a number of years and have decided that for my mailserver system (which doubles as a small time web server) I want to go to an OS that has a supported lifespan of more than a year, especially since this machine has in the past been up longer than a year without reboots. The machine that it will ultimately host the OS is a dual processor P3 machine with 2GB of

PJProject Bundled Update
As you know, the ability to use a bundled version of pjproject was introduced with Asterisk 13.8.0. [LLVMdev] Using MCJIT in a dynamic REPL environment
Hi, I'm trying to transition from the JIT to MCJIT. The requirements are fast response time and dynamic unloading/replacement of modified functions. Lazy evaluation is *not* required: I expect all functions to be present at runtime or else an error is fine. With the JIT it's quite simple to unload and replace functions due to the stubs (JMP instructions) that redirect the actual function

Transfer feature dialing out after one digit
Because some users have requested transfer beep confirmations I've switched our phones over to using the asterisk transfer feature instead of the built in transfer functions of the phones. While testing it was working fine, but I changed something in features.conf and suddenly any time I hit transfer (*2), I can only enter one digit before asterisk immediately tries to dial that extension.
