Press 9 to dial by name
Hi all. I am new to the list and new to asterisk. I have asterisk
installed and running. I am using it as a voicemail server only.
What I would like to do is send users to a general mailbox that will
be addressed as <companyname>@asterisk and give them the option to
wait for the tone and leave a message, or press 9 to dial by name.
My questions are:
1. What is the best way to do

Samba4 AD DNS -- AD Subdomain vs Clients accessing on different subdomain
Hello,
We have an issue we’ve been struggling with for quite some time since we rolled out 10 Samba4 domain controllers at our main office and all remote sites about 3 years ago.
Simplified Current Configuration:
2 DCs at main site with internal DNS using subdomain ad.companyname.com
2 BIND CentOS servers serving all intranet DNS requests — main zone: companyname.com
2 BIND CentOS servers

limit the length of extensions
How do I limit the length of an extension? In my test IVR/Automated
Attendant (whatever it's called), at the beginning it plays "if you know
your parties 3 digit extension, you may enter it now) and then it gives
a list of options. If the caller puts the 3 digit extension, it goes
through fine, if they press 1, or 2 it goes to the selected menu option,
but if they dial 91235551212 it

Samba4 AD DNS -- AD Subdomain vs Clients accessing on different subdomain
> Clients are not being pointed correctly, clients joined to the domain should be pointed at the DCs first, anything they do not know, they ask their forwarders.
Although I agree that what you’re suggesting is a sane configuration, there are other ways to do it and I have tried it both ways. As I’ve explained in my first post, curgently all clients are pointed at BIND servers which forward all

Directory() Command
I am trying to use the Directory() but am having difficulty using it.
According to Wiki page that I found you need to pass it
your voicemail.conf context. My vm-context is [local]. So when
I setup the cmd (Directory(local)) I can search on the three letters
of the last name find that user. But once I press one to except
the name and dial the extension I get the following message

PJSIP configuration question
I am trying to configure a connection to BluIP. I am able to make incoming calls work. However outgoing calls are not working.
For the Outbound Registration, I noticed the contact field is always the internal IP address of my pc instead of mycompany dot com
I can Originate (using AMI) to my Vitelity trunk (IP based authentication).
However, when I Originate to my BluIP, it is being rejected.

userou= question
Yes, thank you for the guidance.
Regarding "*You do not put the users password here (if that is what you are
trying to do): --password=PASSWORD1*"
My experience has been this, no matter where I put "--password=" in the
string, after the "user" as the manpage suggests or the end. When I run the
create string I am asked for a "New Password:' and then

userou= question
All is going well with samba-tool create [user] except for userou=USEROU.
In ADUC. My domain users ou are "down in the tree" further than the default
OU (used in samba-tool create [user] command.)
Like so:
ad.example.com (domain name)

Getting a user from a model (sort of a noob) (resend sorry)
Sorry for the resend but I am not sure if the first one ever made the
list.
As mentioned in my previous posts I''m trying to create a dynamic
directory for file_folumn. After finding out that I didn''t have the
most recent version I installed the latest trunk and am able to get
file_column to act as it should. However I have been racking my brain

zfs permissions
Hello,
I'm using Samba Version 4.0.15-SerNet-RedHat-7.el6 (AD DC)
and zfs-0.6.2-1.el6.x86_64.
I cannot change permissions on files from either Windows ('Access Denied')
or the samba-tool on shares from local zfs mounts:
# samba-tool ntacl set 'O:LAG:S-1-22-2-0D:PAI(A;OICI;0x001301bf;;;WD)'

Issue with computer accounts with classicupgrade
I have an old Centos5/Samba3.5 domain with LDAP backend that I am
attempting to migrate to the latest Samba 4.2 on Centos 7.1. Samba in
both cases has been installed using Sernet packages.
I had successfully run the classicupgrade process, but in subsequent
testing found that in the 3.5 domain all the computer accounts have the
posixAccount class and therefore have a uidNumber.

Intermittent IMAP Login failures - about 25% fail
New server & just added three domains:
now I see
"dovecot: imap-login: Aborted login (auth failed, 1 attempts in 5 secs):
user=<username.companyname>, method=PLAIN, rip=1.1.1.1, lip=99.99.99.99,
TLS, session=<kw6Y2NYviQBex5Un>"
Plus all Outlook users keep being bounced and finally get in.
I am going to kill all the users soon...
Not too many files open, nor bandwidth,

CentOS 4.4 Xen VM/VPS install on CentOS 5 (xen kernel) issues
Ok So I''ve been able to successfully create a CentOS5 virt-install on
xen using LVM created partitions. But have many problems trying to
install 4.4 (It does not work with virt-install hence you have to try
another method). I Created a name, name-tmp, name-swap, name-root
paritions.
I did mke2fs and mkswap no problem everything is good. I went on further
to mount the name-tmp and

Debian patches for Xen 4.5.0 (RC3)
Thanks for your work on xen packages, I have some question about 4.5
packages:
I saw a debian/rules that disable blktap2 but
debian/patches/tools-blktap2-prefix.diff is still present and used in
series, if blktap2 is now disable I think is nomore needed.
I saw also many other patches about prefix still present but for xen 4.5
time ago I saw a big series of patches about honor tools prefix,
