Microphone problems with Skype
Hi, I have CentOS4 and this soundcard: 00:11.5 Multimedia audio controller: VIA Technologies, Inc. VT8233/A/8235/8237 AC97 Audio Controller (rev 60) I installed the Skype rpm for Fedora3 and it works but the quality of my voice is very poor: volume is low and the voice sound doesn't have the high frequencies. Did any of you made Skype work perfectly under CentOS4? How? Thanks, Adrian

segmantation fault
Hi, On a CentOS4 I've updated kdelibs and everything that up2date has signaled me to, and now I get segmentation fault when running xmms (installed from the Centos4 dvd) and also when running gmplayer which is installed from DAG repository for EL4. Is anyone in my position or it's just me? Do you know why? Adrian

Source RPM please
Hi, I''m a long ext3 user (rpmfind.net). I propagated ext3 on some of our server box (W3C webservers are ext3 based too now). I might be tempted of testing out your kernel RPMs but unavailability or the source RPM and the SMP version are definite showstoppers. Please provide them. In the meantime I will stick to my own set of kernel ext3 RPMs at ftp://rpmfind.net/pub/veillard/ext3/

Building rpms
I have been asked to update OpenLDAP to the latest stable version. I am using CentOS 4.2 and have OpenLDAP 2.2.13 installed. I can install from source if I have to, but I would rather stay with rpm packages if possible. I found an rpm from Fedora Core Development on RPMFIND. Will this one work with Centos, or should I grab the source rpm and rebuild it? Bowie

rpm requires logic
Exists the possibility to define an RPM requires statement with a logic? Like: Requires: mysql-server OR mysql55-mysql-server MTAs like postfix have "Provides: MTA" to provide such facility. I do not see such possibility for DB packages ... Thanks -- LF

Building an RPM
Hi, I have downloaded libvirt-0.9.11 and compiled it on my RHEL 6.2 system. I am trying to build a binary RPM for distribution, I am not sure what the best way to go about doing this is. http://libvirt.org/FAQ.html suggests that I try 'make rpm', however that ends in the below error: missing XHTML1 DTD cp: cannot stat `./api.html': No such file or directory make[2]: *** [distdir]

hddtemp package
Just idle curiosity. I've always been fond of the simple hddtemp utility. I tried 'yum install hddtemp' (I have dag in my repos), but it was not found. Google found it on '/pub/dag/dries/packages...'. So I downloaded it, installed (Centos4), and it works just fine. Just wondering why it's not in the dag el4 repo? -- Collins When I saw the Iraqi people voting

Dovecot 1.0.something rpm for CentOS?
Is anyone using successfully a specific rpm of Dovecot 1.0.something? There's nothing on dag and a few on rpmfind (for Fedora Core), but I don't know if they'd work. The one coming with Centos 4 (0.99.11) has quite a few bugs and I'd like to put an upgrade on top of it. R rpm for Mandriva 2008.1 ?
Are there any R rpm's for Mandriva 2008.1? I found a couple of dodgy ones that wouldn't install so far (rpmfind.net). (Sorry that seems so far the only Linux distribution that recognizes my hardware on my new laptop correctly. I'm more familiar to Fedora and Suse so perhaps I'm just doing something wrong?) Joanne

HTB_Tool
Hi, I just want to let you know of a tool that makes your HTB configuration very easy. Sorry if you already knew about it. The webpage is in Romanian ... but one can understand from the configuration examples avaiable on the webpage and in the http://sgi.rdscv.ro/~ionuts/htb-tools/htb_util-0.2.4-pre1_cv-1_quantum-1536-sin.tar.bz2 archive. CENTOS 6.6 NUT RPM BUILD ISSUES
Charles, I need so major help with getting development build working and need some assistance. Here are the issues that we are running into: Number 1 change - 2.7.2 no longer has the HAL scripts that 2.6.5 has. I am working on if HAL is actually required on CentOS6.6 with the 2.7.2 code or if they have another way around it. This is code diving which is taking some time. Number 2 change -
