ODBC Voicemail storage and app_directory
I've checked the wiki, searched the mailing list, Mantis (bug
tracker), and looked through the source code, but found not mention of
this issue:
If using ODBC Storage for voicemail messages, name-playback by
app_directory breaks.
app_directory has no ODBC Storage code and therefore only looks for
the greet.wav file (recording of user's name) in the filesystem,
whereas app_voicemail saves

Directory - First Name/Last Name - How to, use both? a@h?
We wrote and submitted a patch to do this. Just modify app_directory.c
and recompile. It adds a new flag "b" to the directory( ) app where you
can have it use both first and last name.

IMAP Voicemail and Directory not working?
Hi All -
I'm wondering if anybody has IMAP Voicemail AND the directory working
together. I haven't had any success. IMAP voicemail works fine, but
when it's active, the Directory does not work. The problem seems to
be with libc-client. Specifically, asterisk is not able to access the
mm_dlog function.
I've tried with Asterisk 1.4.22+ and 1.6.0+ using CentOS 5.2, Ubuntu

Voicemail Directory
Hi All-
I am running into a small problem trying to implement voicemail
Directory(). I'm sure it is a simple thing, but I can't figure out
where the problem lies.
I can get into the directory without a problem and can look up users
by their last names, however I hit a snag when asterisk says "if this
is the person you are looking for press 1 now". When I hit 1, the

app_directory broken in 1.6
Hello,
I have separate contexts defined in voicemail.conf as follows:
[abcdental]
100 => 1234,John Doe
And call application directory using the following syntax:
exten => 1,1,Directory(abcdental[,abcdental,f])
However since I migrated from 1.4 to 1.6, app_directory no longer parses the
voicemail.conf to match the full name of the mailbox. App_directory only
matches directory names based

Realtime / sip.conf
I am currently in the process of testing out realtime support for
sip.conf. I have followed all of the directions that are listed in
the Wiki, but for some reason this does not work.
When utilizing a flat file, I am able to register endpoints without
any problems, and calls can proceed. One interesting side effect that
I have noticed is that when I am using realtime for sip, I am unable

Softphone (with USB headset) for Mac recommendations
Well, I have my 7940 up and running at home, and everything's working
pretty much perfectly. So, it's time to find new things to break :-).
The problem de jour is long-distance calling from work: I can use my
cell phone, but I'm in an inside office on the 42nd floor and it's
really hard to get good reception. So, I'm thinking about running a
softphone on my Mac laptop

Problem with mysql connector adding "s" to the end of querries
I am a beginner with ruby and was working through some basic examples
from Onlamp where I create a basic controller and model, use the
scaffold command, and edit my database.yml file to point it to the
correct database.
The problem I am having is that no matter what I do, I continue to get
a mysql db connection error when I web to application. It seems that my
connector is trying to connect to

OT: Linux routing with T100P problems
Hey gang,
I was successful in recompiling my 2.4.20 kernel to support HDLC. I was
successful in hooking up our T1 line into the zap card. I was successful in
being able to ping equipment on the other end of the T1. I was unsuccessful
in pinging the outside world from the other end of the T1.
I've attached a cheezy image of the network. Here is the routing table:

Hiding extensions from app_directory
Hi Everyone,
Sorry in advance if this not the correct place to ask this question,
feel free to point me somewhere more appropriate to ask.
We have an Asterisk 1.2.7.1 server (about a year old version of
Asterisk @ Home with FreePBX) running the phone system for our small
office (roughly 15 extensions).
I'm trying to hide a couple of extensions from the app_directory

performance suggestion: sparse files
So I was transferring a 2GB virtual machine disk image image over a slow
wireless link. Of course I used --sparse, to keep the image small on the
destination end as well as on the source end.
Much to my surprise, I noticed that the transfer took a long time even
when it got past the first 0.5GB of actually-populated file. A little
sleuthing with strace revealed that the source rsync was dutifully

Directory() Command
I am trying to use the Directory() but am having difficulty using it.
According to Wiki page that I found you need to pass it
your voicemail.conf context. My vm-context is [local]. So when
I setup the cmd (Directory(local)) I can search on the three letters
of the last name find that user. But once I press one to except
the name and dial the extension I get the following message
