Re: New to Asterisk and a question
I recently dug into this, from what I've seen, the best bang for the buck out there is going to be Polycom's. A local vendor has Polycom IP500 phones for $174 shipped to me. IP500 would be comparable to a 7940G I'm assuming. I ran into the same problem with pricing, don't want grandstreams, but can't afford the nice Ciscos. Check out the Polycom's. -Tim -----Original

Studentized intervals
I am trying to find studentized bootstrap intervals for the skewness of a data set. I have tried the following (nerve.dat is a set of data containing observations on one variable) (using Windows XP): x <- scan("e:/Flashbackup2009/Nonparametrics/nerve.dat") n <- length(x) library(e1071) skewness(x) library(boot) sampleskew <- function(x,d) {return(skewness(x[d]))} bb <-

Q about how to use Anova.mlm
Hi, Am newish to stats and R, so I certainly appreciate any help. Basically I have 50 inidividuals whom I have 6 photos each of their optic nerve head. I want to check that the orientation of the nerve head is consistent, ie the 6 replicates show minimal or preferably no rotation differences. I'll draw an arbitrary line between some blood vessels (same reference in each set of replicates) and

tiny bug in R installation (redhat)
First, let me join the chorus of praise for R. (Hey, isn't somebody going to analyse all these praise emails in some statistical way?) I'm writing to point out an error in the file permissions in the linux/redhat version. (I'm using R-base-1.0.0-1.i386.rpm, by the way.) The permissions in /usr/lib/R/doc/html aren't correct, since 'function.html' and

AbsoluteTimeout Inside A Macro
Hi all, Is it just me and not reading the docs right, or has anybody else had problems with the AbsoluteTimeout application and the 'T' extension when used inside a macro? asterisks queues with static members
Hi List, Forgive me if this has already been covered. I did go through past messages but could not find anything. I want to setup a queue like scenario where users don't need to login/logout. Basically I want to define a list of extensions that will be rung when a call comes in. The sequence in which the extension are rung needs to be intelligent, in the way queues are. For example, it

How do you dial an alternate line on busy with several multi-line phones?
Situation: Dialplan requires several phones be rung on an incoming call, some of which have multiple line presentations. If Line 1 on a phone is busy, Line 2 should be rung instead. Problem: Normal Dial() syntax only rings ALL extensions which we do not want since we only want the second line on a given phone to ring if the lower number line is busy. More Detailed example: 3 phones with 2

Dial groups, groups of phones, multiple line keys
I have 4 Polycom phones with multiple line keys so multiple incoming calls work fine The way I would like the incoming call flow to work is as follows: 1) 2 groups consisting of 2 phones each 2) Incoming call rings the first group, if no answer, the 2nd group is rung 3) However if the first 2 are on a call or busy, it will immediately ring the 2nd group 4) If one

choppy motion/rectangles
Greetings.! In rapid action frames, I see lots of small rectangles which many together render a choppy sense of motion. I've attached screenshots in attempts to convey what I mean: http://24.16.26.121/screenshots/images/1253914810.jpg http://24.16.26.121/screenshots/images/1253914788.jpg I understand the lack of h/w acceleration and such, but I feel this can go away. If I am at all

A best practices question
Hey everyone. I''ve got a best practices question. How are you guys rendering newsfeeds? We have a couple of apps where we send newsfeed items from a backend process. As such, we aren''t in the context of a controller and can''t use the rails template rendering. We''ve tried about 3 different ways to make that bearable, but aren''t having much

cFerret ETA?
I''m noticing some long delays when optimizing my index. I know this is terribly inefficient, but in order to make sure that my ActiveRecord model is in sync with my index, I''m optimizing after every new record that I store, like so: class Resume < ActiveRecord::Base include Ferret has_and_belongs_to_many :users SEARCH_INDEX = File.dirname(__FILE__) +

samba authentication awfully slow
Hey there everybody. I am new to the list, so bear with me if make mistakes :) I updated my Server from FC7 to FC9 and with it came Samba 3.2.0pre3-9.fc9 (heaven knows why it had to be a pre version). I reused my old config and noticed that displaying all hosts in my workgroup as well as authentication went from normal to awfully slow. Once the connection is established it is bearable, though

All, I upgraded to the [*] stable release branch. When I call into the box (confirmed on 2 installations) the caller no longer hears the ringing. The CLI confirms that extensions are being 'rung'. Whassup? Willy Willy Wouters ypOne Publishing

[SUMMARY] openssh: ld: mismatched ABI
Original question: ----------------- [..] What I am attempting to do is compiling openssh-2.2.0p1 on a C200 running 11.0 64bit. During configure, ld exits from building a test program stating: /usr/ccs/bin/ld: /opt/openssl/lib/libcrypto.a: Not a valid library (invalid magic number). Possibly a 64-bit PA archive library (Mismatched ABI). [..] Solution: -------- Many thanks to Albert C. Smith who

Mappery : Ye! Utuvienyes! and also Eureka!
Skimming through Fedora's routine updates, one day not long ago, I noticed the string "garmin" -- and just now thought to try one more time to make one of my GPSs (all of which are Garmins) talk to my legacy proprietary map software. IT DID IT! This is the best computer news I've had since I began running Linux, back in '98 or '99. It means I

OpenBSD version???
John Todd's Onlamp article mentions an OpenBSD version as of June 2003. Have I been sleeping while reading asterisk-users? Is it a seperate project or is it just making Asterisk portable? Who is working on this and is it in the main CVS yet? Do they have device drivers ported or just the software parts of Asterisk? I think the software parts would be relatively simple but time consuming.

ESS 5.2.7 released
Dear ESS users, {BCC'ed to RPM and Debian maintainers of ESS} We have now released ESS 5.2.7. This is a bug fix release against 5.2.6 where - the new UTF-8 "support" gave problems for Xemacs, and - accidentally, 'auto-fill-mode' was activated for *.R buffers with a few new features, see "New Features" below , notably some extended Sweave supported,

Polycom 601 stops ringing
I have an odd issue, where a polycom 601 stops ringing, or more properly, maybe, stops *being* rung, when a call comes in. Other phones/extensions, continue to work fine, they being run at the same time. My dial plan works fine (?) seems it will ring properly, right after a reboot. It works fine for outgoing calls at all times. Hints? joe a.

Discriminating between two incoming lines?
It seems like I've seen how to do this, but so far my archives search has come up dry. I have two X100Ps working with a single instance of asterisk, and I want to do different things with incoming calls depending on which line has rung in. Could someone provide me with a quick pointer? Thx. B.
