Fidelio protocol and Mitel protocol
Does anyone know anything about the Fidelio and Mitel protocol for hotel / motel? Are these industry standards or proprietary formats? Are there open standards for communication with Hotel management software's that could be used in conjunction with a custom asterisk deployment? Thanks Bryant -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL:

AstriCon Hotel Full - Here are some near-by alternates
Well, it looks like AstriCon 2006 is going to be big. We've sold out the entire Westin Park Central -- every last room. So, here are some nearby hotels to check if you're planning on coming down to Dallas for the big Asterisk-fest. Astricon costs...
Has anyone really looked at the costs for Astricon. But the hotel costs. $111.00 USD per night.. come on guys give me a break. I will not be staying at that hotel. I can rent a car and stay near the air port for almost half that. In addition from what I have been told their will be no shuttle service from the Airport to the hotel. Anyone else have any input on this? bkw_ PS: I'm going

AstriCon Update: Very Low Priced Ground Transport Available
-- GOOD NEWS! -- As ground transportation and the costs associated therewith are something of an issue. So, in the spirit of making AstriCon available I've contacted the hotel and arranged/discovered some low cost options: -- MARTA -- MARTA, the Atlanta mass-transit system (i.e. train) can get you there. Take MARTA from the airport north to the Brookhaven station. The hotel shuttle will

Hotel Setup?
I am working with a small inn (under 50 rooms) that is next to a ski resort. The inn just had Cat5e Homeruns to each room installed, with a patch panel in the basement. Now it's my job to connect each of the those rooms to the Internet. I think I have a Cisco switch that I can do Private VLANS with, however I thought of another solution. Has anybody seen or does anybody know of a VoIP

Looking for Prepaid Solution
All; I am looking for a solution a motel that is switching to VoIP. They are especially interested in prepaid services. That is, a resident will come to the office and pre-pay for phone services for their room. When the money runs out, service is shut off, and they need to come down to the office again. Accurate reports are very important. A search on voip-info.org shows several solutions out

Astricon Ride From Airport to Conf Hotel
Hi All, I'm arriving around noon in Phoenix on Tuesday the 25'Th and wouldn't mind sharing a cab or car service. I spoke with the hotel and the 'Super Shuttle' service can take 2-3 hours because the resort is the last stop on the route. A cab or car service will only take 30-40 minutes. If anyone is coming in around the same time and needs a ride, contact me off-list.

Micros-Fidelio - billing in hotel
There is hotel application weary popular in Croatia - Micros-Fidelio. Now I need to connect Asterisk with this application for purpose of billing. Thing is that hotel would like to give customer one bill for every service that he used while he was in hotel. Has anybody connected Asterisk with Micros-Fidelio? As I understand this isn't some local developed application, it's something

Linux/Unix DNS question
While traveling, I found a motel with WiFi where Firefox and the DNS utilities, nslookup and dig, worked as expected, but wget, termtter (a CLI Twitter client), my Ruby on Rails applications, and several other programs could not resolve any domain names (getaddrinfo error, from memory). If I plugged the IP address obtained with nslookup into /etc/hosts, they worked as expected. Could anyone

Budget Hotel PBX
I'm considering using asterisk to replace an existing PBX in a 40 room hotel and would appreciate any comments, corrections or insight before I begin. Only 8 PSTN connections are initially required but since the guests need dial-up internet access in the rooms it has to be Frac-T1 as opposed to using FXO ports on a channel bank. IP phones are not an option strictly because of price. The

Still can't find missing data
I'm trying to prepare some cross tabs, looking at a number of variables against a variable "connector" which has 2 values: "OD Passenger" and " Connector". When I produce a xtabs one way I have observations under "Connector" but against a different variable "Connector" shows all 0 values. What is wrong? I've looked into the na commands

How do I get xtabs to show missing data?
I presume the behavior below (no Connector values in the second table) is because I have na values in my dataframe. How do I get them to list? I found references to na.action and na.pass, but I could not figure out how I could use them with xtabs to list the na as a value. I'm sure there's a simple syntax I need, but it's not obvious to me. > # Weighted Data

Hotel ethernet via nmcli
Here I sit in my hotel room with my Cubie armv7 server with Centos7. They have an ethernet cable here, so most likely I will not need to resort to putting a WiFi USB dongle and trying to master nmcli. But I have to web authenticate to their portal with my personal information. Is that possible with a text web browser? I seem to recall that Centos has one. What to install? Of course,

hotel vmail and iax trouble
I have two issues... First I am working with a hotel software vendor to include an automated way to turn vmail on and off while clearing it at the same time. The vendor is looking to interface via serial cable as they currently do with Mitel systems. i am willling to work with them on an IP interface but I am not so sure on how to implement it in asterisk. Does anyone know of a way that may be

Astricon meets?
Is there a mailing list for people at astricon? I'm here, at the conference Hotel, and was wondering if others as well. Doing some work in the Hotel, but I'd be interested in meeting some others in the Lobby for *-talk or something.. -SteveK

Analog Desktop Phone
I am looking for a good analog desktop phone to use with asterisk and my sipura ATAs. I know I want Caller ID, MWI, a few programmable buttons (for asterisk features), and no external power supply (so my users can dial 911 through the SPA-3000 when the power is out). I spent some time looking at the phones at Fry's today, without finding exactly what I need. Do any of you have any

ext3 filesystem corruption
Hi - We have had 3 rather major occurances of ext3 filesystem corruption lately, i.e. so bad we couldn't event mount, and fsck didn't help. I am looking for pointers, that could help us investigate the root cause. In general... We are running RedHat WS 3 Update 6, 2.4.21-40.2.ELsmp or 2.4.21-37.ELsmp We have a small SAN system that looks like this
