Ruggedised IP Phone
Hi all,
I want to use my * box to control entry to a building. I was wondering who else has done this and what phones they might recommend.
The phone itself needs to be externally mounted so will have to be durable.
Functionally I would like it to just dial and extension when picked up.
Any comments on your experiences would be very much appriciated.
Best regards
Matt

Gluster failure due to "0-management: Lock not released for <volumename>"
By any chance are you having any redundant peer entries in
/var/lib/glusterd/peers directory? Can you please share the content of this
folder from all the nodes?

Gluster failure due to "0-management: Lock not released for <volumename>"
Thanks for the reply. What would be the best course of action? The data on the volume isn?t important right now but I?m worried when our setup goes to production we don?t have the same situation and really need to recover our Gluster setup.
I?m assuming that to redo is to delete everything in the /var/lib/glusterd directory on each of the nodes and recreate the volume again. Essentially

Cisco 7905 vs Cisco 7905-G
Hey,
Can anyone comment on the difference between the 7905 and it's upgrade, the
7905-G ? Has anyone used these phones in a configuration? Is SIP well
implemented in the 7905 ?
Thanks in advance,

Unix Group Question with repect to Samba
I have a question with regards to using Unix groups with samba. This might
be easier to explain with an example.
Lets say I have two users
UserID: GID
UserA:Group1
UserB:Group2
etc.....
I now have an entry in /etc/group that looks like
groupdev::UserA, UserB
If I have a directory with group ownership set to "groupdev" and group mode
"rws"
UserA & UserB cannot create a

Gluster failure due to "0-management: Lock not released for <volumename>"
I had looked at the logs shared by Victor privately and it seems to be
there is a N/W glitch in the cluster which is causing the glusterd to lose
its connection with other peers and as a side effect to this, lot of rpc
requests are getting bailed out resulting glusterd to end up into a stale
lock and hence you see that some of the commands failed with "another
transaction is in progress or

logging problems
Hi!
I'd also like to report a strange logging problem I have.
OS: Solaris 2.8
rsync version: 2.6.7
When I run rsync in daemon mode invoked at a command prompt, it does log information in my configured log file (i.e. /var/log/rsyncd.log). But when I invoke it via inetd with an entry in inetd.conf, it does not log any information.
rsync version 2.5.6 did not have this problem.
My inetd.conf

Samba server in a failover environment
Hello, Samba Gurus .....
I have a Samba server running on a pair of SUN servers (server-a and
server-b).
The samba shares are NFS mounted from a third SUN server (server-c).
I installed Samba 2.2.7a on the paired SUN servers under /usr/local/samba
(Samba 2.2.7a is locally installed on server-a and server-b, since
/usr/local/samba
is local on the rootdisk.)
The failover environment works like

Modification Time Problem
I am using a Samba 3.0.21a share to centrally access my source code
from multiple Windows workstations.
Everything works as expected (in Samba), but there is a slight (but
annoying) problem with the modification timestamp of the files on the
Samba share.
While I have verified that both server and workstation are
synchronized to the same time (using NTP), it seems that there is a
few milliseconds

fun.zero.omit {GLDEX}
Hello. Sorry for the newbie question. When I run the function
fun.zero.omit (from the GLDEX package), I get a matrix and some descriptive
information. Can someone tell me how to strip out the descriptive
information so that I'm only left with the matrix? Here's an example:
