AW: Integrating an old PBX with Asterisk
> Hi all, Hi Marco, > I was thinking about integrating an old PBX with Asterisk and I was wondering > some possible configurations. You didn't mention the number of lines your PBX uses, but think of a third scenario: Install an asterisk with twice the number of BRI/PRI-Ports your current PBX has. Connect half of them to your carrier, the other ones to your old PBX (Some sort of

Question about Ogg files Structure
Hi, I bought an iRiver HP-120 which can read ogg files (via a hard drive). Many people experiment that reading ogg file decrease the baterry charge more quickly than with mp3 at the same bitrate. The only raisonnable reason of that mysterious thing is that reading ogg file is not sequential onto hard drive, and the hard drive head must move more than for reading an mp3 at the same quality, and

Samba 3.05 pdc
I'm trying to connect a Windows 2000 workstation to my samba pdc domain. I have followed all the steps in the documentation to setup samba as a pdc, but I have not been able to connect any workstations to the domain. Does anyone have a example smb.conf file I can compare with mine. I checked the "log.smbd" and I'm getting the following messages when I tried to add a computer

Integrating with existing 1BRI, 6 POTS Panasonic PBX ?
Hi, at the university department we have quite old Panasonic 2+6 PBX (1BRI + 6 POTS for outputs) and 25 local analog extensions. We would like to add Asterisk with 1 fresh BRI line and possibly integrate with existing equipment (we would like to crossover between both pbxses). What would be most efficient way to do this ? Thanks in advance, regards, Rob.

Integrating with existing analog PBX
Hi. Am new to this concept but have been requested to add VOIP capability to a small office phone system. They currently have 4 standard analog lines running into a PBX feeding 16 phones, with all the usual features, call transfer call hold internal calls etc. would the following seem reasonable ? asterisk server:- ( what specs ) cat5 > broadband (VOIP) 4 FXO's for incoming PSTN

Integrating Asterisk into our Legacy PBX <--Newb
I have been successful in setting up asterisk and making workstation to workstation SIP calls. But I am lost when it comes to anything past that. We are trying to integrate this asterisk server into with our Executone (432?) PBX to allow us to make outbound SIP calls between our disparate locations. We have a T1 card in our PBX, and the Digium TE110P card in the Asterisk. We have the T1 card

integrating with existing PBX
I'm looking for a way to give VoIP capabilities to an existing PBX: it's made by Mitel and it's used in a small/medium environment (a few dozen phones, but the PBX has capabilities for up to 200, if i remember correctly). Any high-level guidelines on how to integrate Asterisk with a PBX that's already in use? Probably that particular PBX is not supported directly, but are there

pbx answers after answering from analog phone
I am setting up my * for at home office and still have analog phones attached and answer from those analog phones and not necessarily through the pbx. I found that with the X100P cards, they see the 2nd ring and will be ready to answer the line. I used a Wait to pause and allow another 2 rings before * answers. But found that if we answer the line after the 2nd ring and before the 4th, * still

Asterisk Legacy PBX integration and fail-over question,
Hi All, I have a (legacy) Praxton PBX, it has a PRI T1 input card and 64 analog extensions through 4 amphenol connectors. We receive 12 voice channels (other 12 are idle) and have 100 DIDs. No caller ID thru PRI though. The Praxton box is amazing in terms of configuration and flexibility but has no VoIP support and the company went poof and it is no longer supported, nor spare parts are

Problem with integrating ISDN PBX using NT mode
Hi, I'm just in the process of replacing a crappy Siemens PBX with a new and shiny Asterisk system. To connect Legacy equipment I hooked up a small ISDN PBX (DeTeWe OpenCom 36) to one port on a Junghanns.net quadBRI card. That port is configured for NT Point to Multipoint (Mehrgeraeteanschluss) mode. Now I can place calls from the ISDN PBX to the other Asterisk extensions but the other way

flash transfer problem in asterisk integration with old PBX
I've tried to transfer a call using the Flash command, but with my configuration it doesn't work. I have a traditional PBX connected with a zap channel to Asterisk that acts like an IVR: TELCO line --> traditional PBX (FXS) --> (FXO) Asterisk >From the TELCO line I can make a call to the traditional PBX and reach Asterisk, the IVR system on Asterisk answers the call and I can
